general information
Jamaica is an island nation in the Caribbean. It is a member of the British-led Commonwealth. The population is almost 3 million people. Vibrant Jamaican culture, Rastafarianism with its easy attitude to life, reggae music make Jamaica attractive to tourists.
Capital
Kingston is the capital of Jamaica, its commercial and cultural center. The combination of modern architecture, stylish offices and high-rise buildings with the huts and dens of the poorest sections of the population leaves a heavy impression. However, there are many festivals that are well worth seeing. The city is located on the coast of the bay and from the height of the foothills that border Kingston, it can seem picturesque.
Jamaica beaches
Negril beaches - the best beaches on the island, 10 km of white sand. Seven Mile Beach is always crowded. Calm waters. Boating, kayaking, water skiing. Diving and snorkeling. Coral reefs with interesting inhabitants. Restaurants and bars. Reggae music. Every week, parties with free rest, night discos.
French Cove near the small town of San Antonio, a picturesque cliff-lined beach gives a glimpse of a tropical paradise. Located at the confluence of a small river into the sea. The water in the lagoon is warm and clean. The coast is almost untouched by tourists.
The beach at the Doctor's Cave near the city of Montego Bay has one peculiarity. Music and stalls are prohibited here. You can admire the inhabitants of the coral reefs in a boat with a glass bottom. Kayaking and scuba diving are also available for tourists.
The nature of the island of Jamaica (landscapes, beautiful places)
Most of the island is occupied by a limestone plateau. In the west there are hills with narrow valleys, and in the east there are two mountain ranges, the highest point of which is 2256 m. There are a lot of rivers that fall from the ridges as waterfalls and cut through picturesque gorges.
The north coast of the island is narrow plains with sandy beaches and calm waters protected by coral reefs. Mangroves are located on the southern coast.
One fifth of Jamaica is covered with lush rainforests. Extensive plantations are planted with sugar cane, coffee, yams and bananas.
Main cities and resorts:
Negril is a resort settlement on the west coast of the island. It is famous for its 10-kilometer white sand beaches, gentle entrance to the sea and developed infrastructure. A variety of hotels of different price categories and levels, from luxurious coastal villas to small comfortable hotels. Clubs for children, playgrounds. Vibrant nightlife.
Montego Bay is the second largest city, which also has an airport. Hotels are different, from simple to five-star, with their own beaches. A reggae festival is held here. There is an underwater park. You can visit the plantation with tropical crops. The beaches are not as soft and gentle as in Negril, but great for snorkeling.
Ocho Rios is a resort with many restaurants and bars, shops and stalls. Several rivers flow from the tropical mountains surrounding Ocho Rios. A distinctive feature of the resort is the beautiful Danes River waterfalls. Scuba diving, an equestrian center, discos and nightclubs are all at the service of tourists.
What to see
The Pelican Bar, opposite Treasure Beach, is built on stilts right into the sea. Not at all a comfortable place, reminiscent of a garage. The wooden decks, piles and walls of the bar are decorated with inscriptions of tourists carved into them. Lots of things from all over the world. You won't find luxurious food here, but you can comfortably sit right on the deck with a glass of drink, chat with the host and guests, sunbathe and swim. You can also order lunch in advance and enjoy the beauty of the azure waters while it is being prepared.
The Hummingbird Sanctuary is worth a visit, home to the only Jamaican pennant-tailed hummingbird. The peculiarity is that you can not only look at these tiny birds, but also feed them from your hand from a bottle of sweetened water.
Jamaica landmarks
The estate of the first black millionaire Devon House in Kingston is now a national museum. Among the bustle and crowded capital of the capital, the quiet park of the residence, built in the 19th century, stands out in contrast. Numerous rooms contain antiquities from Jamaican, Caribbean, English and French cultures.
Museum of Bob Marley - the founder of the musical style of reggae. It is located in the village Ninth Mile, where the singer lived. Rasta guides will show you the celebrity's home with photographs, the graves of loved ones and the crypt with the embalmed body of Bob Marley.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.
We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.
Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

Walking in Mandeville town Jamaica 2021, Mandeville is the capital and largest town in the parish of Manchester in the county of Middlesex, Jamaica. In 2005, the town had an estimated population of 50,000, and including the immediate suburbs within a radius of 16 km (9.9 mi) the total population was about 72,000. It is located on an inland plateau at an altitude of 628 m (2061 feet), and is 103 km (64 mi) west of Kingston. It is the only parish capital of Jamaica not located on the coast or on a major river.
