Three trains with modified Croatian EMD G26 (codenamed: Turner)
During these snowy days, turners are kept busy. These units are a very rare sight in this area. Mainly due to it all being electrified. Nowadays electric units are out of service in big numbers due to snow, so diesels are filling in. Usually different classes of diesel locomotives are sent as a backup, because these units are needed on Lika Railway.

Diesel helping a dead electric
HŽ 2063 001 (GT26CW-2) + a malfunctioned HŽ 1141 001 stopping with a passenger train in Duga Resa.
2063 has never been sent to haul a passenger train through Duga Resa before, so this was one of a kind lucky catch!

The real sound of EMD!
I was waiting for this GM engine as I knew it was coming, but I had to hide from the rain. Lucky me, the train 525, which this engine was hauling, had to stop and wait for a train 705 that was coming from the other direction. Neither of those two trains has a regular stop in Duga Resa.

Turners saving the passenger train lines
The winter in Croatia was rather tough for a week in which many electric engines developed malfunctions due to wrong type of snow. At that time, GM engines, which don't usually work in the area this video was taken, were sent for assistance.

These units sandwiched between G533 towing the consist and WGBY1085 bring up the rear were being transferred from Port Kembla (where they were unloaded last week) to Port Waratah (for commissioning)

A set of 7 Bombardier Double Deck Coach cars passenger train enters to Bnei Brak train station at the Be'er Sheva - Hod HaSharon line.
The control car at the front was #501 which was made around 2003 or 2004. The locomotive at the back of the train was #766.

Diesels in a Landscape - Iran 2016 - Part 1
Following extensive high-level negotiations by Bernd Seiler of FarRail Tours, permission was granted to take photographs and video of main line diesel hauled passenger and freight trains in Iran. Unaccompanied access was also granted to the main loco depot in Tehran. Because many of the locations we wanted to use were completely inaccessible by road, the railway authorities took us by PW maintenance railcars (Draisine) and returned to pick us up at the end of the day’s shooting. This took place on busy single-track mainline railways used by regular passenger and freight trains. The tour started with locations on the Transiranian Railway. Everyone treated us with kindness and courtesy. The RAI staff were most accommodating to our needs.
Special thanks to Bernd Seiler for negotiating filming permissions and for researching suitable locations.
