We are nervous to be in Brazil???????? (First time)

Visiting Brazil for the first time!
We arrived in São Paulo, Brazil's megacity after a 23-hr journey from Serbia.
Many people are concerned about our safety when we announced that we would be going to Brazil.

Check out our first day walking around around Centro de São Paulo, the area where we are staying while in this big city.

00:00 - Sao Paulo is BIG!
4:00 - Raw footage walking around Sao Paulo Centro with a GoPro
7:48 - Noticing the homelessness in Sao Paulo
15:07 - Massive and beautiful cathedral!
18:30 - First meal in Sao Paulo

Thanks for watching our vlog!
Stay tuned for more Brazil travel vlog, Brazil travel guide, Brazil first impressions, and many more as we explore São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Florianópolis, Salvador, Bahia, the Amazon, and more! 5 Things American Tourists Shouldn't Wear in Europe

Grab some of our gear

Please Note: Young People Wear Many of These Styles Throughout Europe. These tips are geared toward 35+ year old travelers. Thanks for watching!

Grab a Wolters World Shirt

Heading to Europe & Not Sure What to Pack? Here are a few things that my fellow US travelers may want to avoid packing if they are traveling to Europe.
1. Baseball Caps: Europeans in general do not wear baseball caps, especially backwards. You would be better served to wear a more traditional hat. You will see an occasional NY Yankee hat, but why not buy the fancy hat you always wanted instead?
2. Athletic Wear: Europeans tend to wear athletic wear to do sports, not to wear around town. There is a trend of more athleisurewear in Europe, but it is not to the extent that there is in US.
3. Khakis: the omnipresent US male pant choice is not something you will see too often in Europe. Go for colored pants or jeans. If you want khaki like pants wear Chinos instead of Dockers. The pants you will see are a thinner cut or skinnier fit than in the US.
4. Oversized US University Sweatshirts.
5. Sport Shoes or High Heals: US sport shoes and white socks are not quite as popular in Europe as they are in the US. You may be better off with Urban Street shoes like Vans instead. Also, women should be careful with high heels as with all the cobblestone it is easy to hurt your ankles.

I Didn't Know São Paulo Was So Italian???????????????? (#118)

São Paulo. The megacity of not just Brazil, but all of Latin America. If you're flying to Brazil, this is typically the only way in, and the only way out. I didn't quite know what to expect: we're used to hearing about favelas and robberies in the country, which leads one to imagine a disorganized city barely holding it together. That's not São Paulo. There's way more money here than you'd expect, and many parts looks as modern as anywhere else in the world. There's the largest Italian and Japanese diasporas in the world. It's a thriving city on the surface.

But as always, the truth is more complicated than that.

Lisbon: What NOT to Do in Lisbon, Portugal

Tourist information on visiting Lisbon, Portugal. From what to do like visit Mosteiro do Jeronimos, having pasteis de Belem and eating like a king, but also what you should not do when you visit Lisbon. From scary taxi rides, seven hills you will walk up, and wondering why people are trying to sell you random stuff on the street, this is one of my favorite and most thorough city travel videos.

Is Venezuela Ready for Visitors?

After years of crisis and isolation, Venezuela is reconnecting to the world. More airlines are opening routes, the US dollar is widely accepted and some locals say the worst is over. Is Venezuela ready to welcome international tourists? And: is it safe?
DW's Joel Dullroy visited Venezuela in January 2022. He went to some of the most touristic spots of the country: from the Isla de Margarita to the town of Mérida and the national park of Morrocoy.

Is Solo Female Travel Safe In Rio? | Story Time | Covid Travel 2021

In this video, I share some scary tales about my time in Rio in May 2021.

Check out the blog for more info:

Here is a preview: When I told my family and friends that I was traveling to Rio, they were excited for me.

When I told them that I was traveling to Rio solo, that excitement turned into fear. I don’t blame their hesitations. Everything I read online described Rio as a dangerous place. A place full of theft and cheap plastic surgery.

Now that I’ve visited this amazing city, I wanted to share my experiences.

Are these notions about the safety of Rio just misconceptions? Or are they spot on? I’ll let you be the judge.
