Is Garuda Indonesia First Class Really 5 Star?

In the first part of this vlog, I tried out the new Citilink Dining Experiences from Jakarta to Bali which include fine dining in the sky, airport meet and assistance, fast track, extra leg room seat and arrival assistance. The Citilink Dining Experiences package cost 550,000 IDR ($40).

From Bali, I visited the Garuda First Class lounge before flying to Tokyo Narita in Garuda Indonesia First Class onboard B777-300/ER. I was one of only two passengers in Garuda First Class. I was treated like royalty with the 5 star cabin crew of Garuda. But you have to watch my final verdict to see what I've thought of Garuda First Class!

Garuda Indonesia New Experience + B737 Private Jet Villa

I had a sneak peek at how a retired B737-200 is turning into a luxury private jet villa with amazing ocean views from the cliff in Bali. It should be opening later this year for stay.

After a great time in Bali, I flew out on Garuda Indonesia A330 to Jakarta. It was a short 1 hour 40 minutes flight but with full service in both Business Class and Economy Class. The usual amenities have returned with the exception of face covering is still required onboard. Garuda Indonesia is well known to have some of the best cabin crew, which reflects Indonesian hospitality.

Next, I met up with Garuda Indonesia CEO Irfan Setiaputra. I asked him about the future of Garuda Indonesia and how it can compete with other airlines.

Garuda Indonesia First Class from Jakarta to Amsterdam on Boeing 777 - EXCEPTIONAL

*TURN ON THE SUBTITLES* I took this once in a lifetime (at least for me!) flight on Garuda Indonesia First Class on their Boeing 777 from Jakarta, Indonesia to Amsterdam, Netherlands. The flight took 14.5 hours. I then took Turkish Airlines to Istanbul. This video shows both flights, as well as the connection experience in Amsterdam (which was at the Amsterdam VIP terminal) and some sightseeing in Istanbul like the Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and Hagia Sophia.
I take epic trips and document as much as I can to bring you an objective view.
It was an exceptional trip from start to end. Garuda Indonesia provides limousine service in Jakarta, which picked me up from my hotel.
Upon arrival, I was escorted to check-in and through the security to the First Class lounge. There was only 2 people in First Class that day.
The flight was a night flight, departing Jakarta around 11pm, and landing in Amsterdam around 7am. One of the best part of this trip was the VIP service in Amsterdam Airport; Garuda pays for this service for you when you have a connecting flight. They pick you up from your plane with an Audi, and then drop you off at your next gate with an Audi. The lounge itself was superb.
After my 3 hour long layover in Amsterdam, I took Turkish Airlines to Istanbul. The flight was very short; only 2.5 hours, and the food was great.

Is Garuda Indonesia Business Class Really Good? ✈️ A330-900neo (ft. @ikhwanhidayat)

Garuda Indonesia A330-900neo was on my wishlist for a long time, fortunately I got an opportunity to try out it last month finally! Especially it was a very special flight, because I flew with my friend Ikhwan(@ikhwanhidayat) who is a famous aviation vlogger in Indonesia. We flew from Jakarta to Surabaya aboard the A330neo in Business Class.

I was pleasantly surprised with the service and all-around experience flying with Garuda Indonesia. Although it was a short domestic flight, they provided great service on the ground such as fast track security lanes, lounge, and even the boarding pass holder.

Onboard service was also great despite the 1 hour domestic flight. As soon as I settled, our cabin crew introduced herself, and offered a welcome drink along with a warm towel, which was nicely presented on a wooden holder. Garuda Indonesia even offered 3 meal choices on this short domestic flight, I chose “Nasi Liwet Opor Ayam(Chicken & rice)”. I enjoyed the meal. The most surprising and impressive thing was the cabin crew. They were so nice, thoughtful, friendly, and attentive. I would definitely consider flying with them all the way from Seoul to Indonesia someday.

인도네시아의 대표 항공사, '가루다 인도네시아'의 최신 항공기인 에어버스 A330-900neo 비즈니스석을 탑승했습니다. 이번 비행은 인도네시아의 유명 항공 유튜버이자 제 친구인 Ikhwan과 함께 비행해서 더욱 특별했습니다.

가루다 인도네시아항공은 기대 이상으로 만족스러웠습니다. 짧은 국내선 비행이었지만, 자카르타공항에서 패스트 트랙 서비스를 제공했고 국내선 라운지도 꽤 괜찮았네요. 비행기에 탑승하자마자, 승무원분이 오셔서 환영 인사를 해주셨고, 웰컴드링크와 쟁반에 받친 따뜻한 타월도 제공되었습니다. 1시간의 짧은 국내선 비행인데, 기내식은 무려 3가지 옵션 중 선택할 수 있었습니다. 기내식도 꽤 괜찮았고, 모든 서비스가 기대 이상이었네요. 특히 승무원들은 아주 세심하셨고, 계속해서 제가 무엇이 필요한지 관심과 주의를 기울이시는 모습을 볼 수 있었습니다.

1시간 정도의 짧은 비행이어서 아쉬웠지만, 아주 즐거운 경험이었습니다. 다음에는 서울에서 자카르타까지 긴 비행을 함께 해보고 싶네요????

This is a review of flight GA824 from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) in Jakarta to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN).

The flight is operated by a 9.6 year old Boeing 737-800NG.

Garuda Indonesia delivered excellent service throughout the flight. Starting from ground experience (check-in and lounge), boarding, and onboard experience (I had the best chicken meal ever in the economy class). Most importantly, the flight departed on time and arrive 20 minutes early in Singapore.

A 5-STAR EXPERIENCE | Garuda Indonesia Business Class (International) | Airbus A330-200

Review of flight GA825 from Singapore Changi International Airport (SIN) to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Banten (CGK). I had the chance to review the business class on this 9 year old Airbus A330-200. The seat configuration is 2-2-2. The aircraft has the capacity of 222 passengers, 36 in business class and 186 in economy class.

This is actually my first time flying Garuda Indonesia Business Class on an international flight, and I really liked it. I was originally booked in the economy class, but I upgraded myself to business class using the bid upgrade program when I know that my flight is operated by the Airbus A330 instead of the usual Boeing 737-800NG. My upgrade was cleared 13 hours prior to the departure.

I was quite impressed with the service, especially the soft product on-board this flight. Notable mentions are:
1. Vintage champagne (2005 castelnau cuvee brut millesime - 4.2 ratings in Vivino).
2. Choice of Fresh kedongdong (Ambarella) juice on top of the traditional orange juice
3. Choice of 2 type of coffees (Java and Toraja)
4. 3 options of main course

In fact, I would go as far as to say that the overall experience matches that offered by Singapore Airlines on this route.
