How Safe Is Gabon for Travel?

Full safety review:

Gabon is a country located in Western Central Africa.

It lies on the very Equator, and has a coastline along the Atlantic Ocean, while at the same time being squeezed in between the Republic of the Congo to the south and east, Equatorial Guinea to the northwest and Cameroon to the north.

And though it’s a small population, Gabon has reserves of oil and minerals which has made it one of Africa’s wealthier destinations.

Gabon is, overall, not that safe to visit. If you decide to go to Gabon, you should be aware that crime, poor road conditions, interruptions to power, and poor water quality are just some of the things tourists will have a problem with.

Can tourists still visit Gabon safely after January 2019?

As in Thailand a few years ago, a three-hour military coup was held in Gabon on January 7, 2019. Then everything went back to normal after three hours and the government did not need to withdraw.

Today I woke up thinking I was flying from Chad to Mali. But due to an unexpected flight cancellation (on my 2nd leg), I was left in Lomé, Togo for 24 hours. I definitely wasn't mad about it because it means that I have the chance to explore a new place! It's country #150 and also my very first time in West Africa.

Here's what I discovered over 24 hours in Togo. Have you ever been before?

What It's Like Being White in Africa

In 2018, I had the pleasure of visiting 21 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. I absolutely love this continent. It offers incredible nature, culture, and experiences that you cannot find anywhere else.

In a sense, I feel like traveling to Africa is the only real traveling that I've ever done.

But I have noticed a lot of scamming and bribery happening to me in African countries lately, and that's why I made this video.

I know this post will get a lot of hate mail, and that's okay. I want to hear your opinions, thoughts, and suggestions on this subject.

I could lie to you guys and say that Africa is 100% safe as a non-black person, but that's just not the case. Perhaps it would be safer if I didn't travel solo, but I always have.

The point of this video is that if you physically stand out in any place, you will be treated differently. And I wish someday, in this amazing world of ours, that this will not be the case.

How Safe Is Senegal for Travel?

Full safety review:

Senegal is a country located in Western Africa, that shares its borders with Guinea-Bissau to the south, Guinea to the southeast, Mali to the east, and Mauritania to the north, and it has a coastline on the Atlantic Ocean to the west.

Senegal has a reputation of being West Africa’s most stable country, but that doesn’t make it a boring destination, though.

Overall generally speaking, Senegal is not the safest country to visit. It has extremely high crime rates, of both violent and petty crime. You should be vigilant and take all possible precaution measures in order to minimize the risk of something wrong happening.

Why I Really Don't Like This Country ????????

UPDATE: I WENT BACK TO BRUNEI TO GIVE IT A 2ND CHANCE!

While I constantly try to find the positives in every place I visit, there are a few nations that I just simply didn't enjoy.

The country of BRUNEI is one of them.

I went to Brunei back in 2014, three years before I made videos, but my negative experiences in the country have stuck in my mind ever since. That, combined with its absurd human rights laws such as stoning to death LGBT members, I felt like this video needed to be shared with the world.

Have you ever visited any countries that you didn't enjoy? Please share below, I'm curious to know.

How Safe Is Cameroon for Travel?

Full safety review:

Cameroon is a country located in West Africa, sharing its borders with Nigeria to the west, Chad to the northeast, the Central African Republic to the east and Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and the Republic of the Congo to the south.

This country, known as “Africa in miniature” unites all the typical African features such as French and English speaking portions, Muslim and Christian dominated regions, and both mountainous and rain forest regions.

Overall generally speaking, Cameroon isn’t a safe country. It has its fair share of street crime, terrorism, diseases and natural hazards. If you do travel there, apply maximum measures of precaution in order to lessen the chances of something going wrong.

What Can $10 Get in LAGOS, NIGERIA? (Craziest City)

HELLO FROM LAGOS, NIGERIA -- COUNTRY #175!! ???????? I truly had a lot of fun making this video inside Africa's craziest and most populated city. Did you know that over 20 million people are living in Lagos?! It is hands down one of the most hectic, chaotic, and vibrant places I've ever been with a LOT of stories to tell. I'm overwhelmed.

My local friend and YouTuber named Tayo (his channel linked below) has been taking me all around his bustling city of Lagos and we've had an absolute blast together. Surprisingly, this was one of the hardest videos I've ever made because it's REALLY challenging to shoot content on these streets. People don't like being on camera here and they make a huge commotion in the streets and ask for money (etc) whenever they see it from a distance.

In any regard, I hope you enjoy this episode of my $10 series and get a glimpse into local Nigerian culture. More to come tomorrow! Nigeria is awesome!

WHO KNEW that the world's most expensive city for expats and tourists is Luanda, Angola?!

That's right -- it's not New York or London or Singapore or Dubai.... Not even close. It's Luanda Angola --, and if you don't believe me, you can ask BBC News, CNN and The Guardian.

I am not kidding you that I just saw a 13'' Macbook Pro listed at $4,200 at an electronics store Luanda -- I just bought the exact same computer in Arizona for less than half that price!

After spending the last 3 days in Luanda,, I've been surprised in many ways... but none more than the outrageous prices. You can learn all about it in this video.

Just curious -- Did anyone about this before watching this video? Or is this totally news to you?

BONZOUR from the beautiful African island nation of MAURITIUS!

(I didn't misspell 'Bonzour,' it means 'Hello' in their language of Creole, which is very similar to French) ;)

If you are like I was a few days ago, then you don't know much about this hidden country of Mauritius, which lies off the southeastern coast of Africa.

But after getting in touch with some locals from Mauritius who have kindly introduced me to their culture and showed me around the island -- I have put together this video which highlights the most interesting things I've learned about Mauritius so far.

Have you ever been to Mauritius or know anything about Mauritian culture? What is your favorite part about the country?
