Experiencing Iran: history, nature, backpacking, meeting locals

This was our trip to Iran, spending a few weeks backpacking through cities and small villages. We made the whole trip on a low budget to fully experience this country, doing Couchsurfing, taking local transport and meeting the warm-hearted Iranians.

During these weeks, we've seen some fantastic architecture, met incredibly friendly people, learnt more about Islam and broke down any stereotypes that we had. We felt very safe.

Starting in Tehran, we travelled to the north, visiting mountain villages close to Damavand and the Caspian Sea. We then moved south to Shiraz where we visited the ruins of ancient Persepolis and slowly worked our way back north by stopping by Kerman, the Kaluts desert, Yazd, Isfahan, Qazvin and finished our trip hiking the Alamut valley.

Thanks so much for watching! Don't forget to subscribe.

Visiting Noah's Ark

I visited Dogubeyazit in Turkey, the historic last stop in the Ottoman empire on the way to Persia. From hilltop palaces to the acclaimed Ark of Prophet Noah, this place had a lot to offer. It was fascinating to come across the place that David Fasold and Ron Wyatt both concluded was the real Noah's Ark

Journey Through Israel - Travel Documentary

Israel means a lot of different things to many people, and is one of the most diverse and dynamic countries in the world. Even though it’s often associated with political unrest and conflict, it’s also a beautiful place to travel to, with spectacular natural beauty, lively cities, ancient historic sites, incredible cuisine, and friendly, welcoming people.

On this journey, I’m traveling through the Holy Land, a region important to the three main monotheistic religions, and what is known today as Israel and Palestine.

In this episode, I’m exploring Israel, a country that was established in 1948, but is located in a region that has been at the crossroads of religions and cultures for many centuries. From the beautiful beaches and dynamic streets of modern Tel Aviv, to the religious landmarks and atmospheric alleys of the Old City of Jerusalem. From the salty water of the Dead Sea to the surreal desert landscapes of the Negev. Along the way, I meet some of the people that live here, and taste some of the local food.

I’ll do so from a traveler’s perspective, focusing on the positive stories and things to do. But here and there I also mention the conflict between Israel and Palestine, since it has impacted the lives of many people in the region. For those interested in the politics and modern history of the region, however, I recommend to read, watch, and listen to as many different sources as you can.

This is my first long trip after the pandemic started, and I’m grateful for the chance to travel again. It’s also my second visit to the region, and therefore I use both new and older footage for this video.

Here’s a brief overview of the content in this video:

We begin this journey in Tel Aviv, Israel’s ‘beach city’. But it’s much more than that, it’s also an economic powerhouse and vibrant cultural center, known for its liberal and cosmopolitan attitude. The next stop is Caesarea, an interesting place for people who are interested in history. This ancient port city was an important place during Roman times, and was only recently excavated by archaeologists. Not far from here is Haifa, known particularly for its beautiful Bahai’s gardens.

I continue my travels in Akko, a stunning fortified city on the Mediterranean coast. Its winding alleys are a joy to get lost in, and it’s also worth discovering the underground tunnels. Driving onwards, I travel to the Golan Heights, an area popular for outdoor activities, with beautiful mountain landscapes and national parks. It’s also a contested place, as the Golan was captured by Israel from Syria, after Six Day War. As you travel in this region, you come across many reminders of the war.

Nazareth is one of Christianity’s holiest places, and the place where Jesus is said to have lived for many years. The Basilica of the Annunciation is the absolute highlight for many visitors, and the city is an important place for religious tourism. Also interesting is Nazareth Village, where you can imagine life during the time of Jesus.

Few places evoke so much imagination as Jerusalem, one of the world’s oldest cities, and holy to Jews, Muslims, and Christians. Walking (into) the Old City can be a magical experience, and to many visitors feels like entering a different world, and era. While Jerusalem is a spiritual and historic center, it’s also a dynamic city, where traditional lifestyles blend with cosmopolitan ideas.

We continue our journey in the Negev, a vast region in the South of Israel, comprising of arid mountains and surreal desert landscapes. Here, I visit a number of beautiful nature reserves, and also briefly visit a kibbutz. At the Southern tip of the Negev is Eilat, a popular holiday destination for Israeli families, but also a good place to go diving or snorkeling, as it’s located on the Red Sea.

I end the trip on the Dead Sea, known for its high salt levels, where people actually stay afloat. The high concentration of minerals is also said to have healing powers for people with certain skin problems. It’s not all good news though, as the Dead Sea’s water levels are receding at immense speed, mostly due to human activity, such as extraction for industrial purposes, and climate change.

The Unknown Secrets of the Ancient Castle: Exploring the Depths of Iran's History

The Unknown Secrets of the Ancient Castle: Exploring the Depths of Iran's History
Exploration of time and place in the historical citadel of Shurghistan
First of all, I congratulate you on the Iranian New Year (Nowruz).
Happy Nowruz????????
Uncovering the DARKEST SECRETS of Shorghistan's Abandoned Castle...
Shorghistan is one of the remote villages of Kerks Natanz district.
The way to reach this village is remote but beautiful with attractive nature.
I don't have any documented information about Shurghistan, what I will say is mostly the impression of my one-day trip to this unique historical village and castle, the ruins of which remain.
It is said that this village and castle existed almost 1500 years ago, but what remains is mostly related to the Qajar and Zandiye eras.
The love story of Zariadares and Odatis, which is a very old love story in Iran, is attributed to this place:
This story tells the story of the love of an Iranian ruler named Zariadares and the princess of the neighboring land named Odatis, who was the most beautiful girl. These two people saw each other in a dream and became fascinated with each other. Zaryadres went in search of Edatis, but the girl's father did not agree to the marriage of the two. Finally, one day Omartes, the father of Odatis, held a feast and allowed his daughter to choose her husband from among the young people present by giving a cup to the one who loved her. Zeriaderes, who had been informed about this king's decision by Odatis, entered the party in Scythian clothes and incognito and took the cup from Odatis.
This story, which according to historians goes back to the Median period, was so popular among Iranians that Iranian courtiers performed it with instruments and songs, and Iranian nobles called their daughters Odatis. This story was later reflected in the story of Ghstasab and Ketayun in the circle of Kiani stories and in the Shahnameh. Traces of this story can be found in the story of Amir Arslan Namdar and Farrukh Lagha, which was made during the Qajar period.
This documentary was filmed using special camera techniques that allow us to see in the dark! After following a team of explorers as they explore the abandoned castle, you'll be privy to some of the darkest secrets of Shorghistan.

If you're interested in paranormal mysteries, then this documentary is a must-watch! Not only will you learn about the abandoned castle, but you'll also learn about the dark secrets of Shorghistan. Be sure to watch this documentary to discover the hidden mysteries of this strange place!

The Tepe Sialk Ziggurat Of The Siyalk Culture - Ancient Iran

Signup for our Newsletter Email here:

The Tepe Sialk ziggurat is known to be the earliest culture in Iran, and the Siyalk culture found in the north-central part of that land at Tepe Siyalk near Kashan and Chashmah Ali near Teheran. The Siyalk culture is the earliest known culture of the pre-Halaf cultures of northern Mesopotamia and Syria. The area around this site has been dated back to 7500 BC and the temple base structure has been preliminarily dated to around 3000 BC. The structure of the Tepe Sialk structure or (ziggurat) is very similar to the more recent structures built in southern Mesopotamia.

There are times when I begin to plan our travels based on my interests and the type of history I might find. My writings and research and normally centered around ancient sites and the Tepe Sialk Ziggurat is one of those lesser-known sites due to its location being in Iran. Now one may or may not have difficulty getting there depending on where they are from and the passport they carry. We may not be able to get there today but wanted to shed some light on this location so others may be able to visit even if we cannot today. I recently looked at this site up again and found there to be much more available, and the current anthropologists in Iran to be continuing to write papers on their findings there. I'm going to be adding some additional information here along with photographs of some of the pottery they have found.

To know more about Tepe Sialk ziggurat please visit
