Tornado-warned supercell complete with one of the most incredible cloud-to-ground lightning displays I've witnessed in five years of chasing. All scenes are from LaSalle, IL except the very last one which was from my home in West Lafayette, IN much later that night.

Amazing Lightning Display From Incredible Supercell Thunderstorm
On June 4th 2015 we chased storms in central Kansas, after watching one amazing supercell form and then die a little too quickly another sculpted supercell thunderstorm developed a little before dark. We followed this storm into the night and were treated to a phenomenal lightning display. This storm chasing trip was with Tempest Tours Storm Chasing Expeditions. Filmed on a Gopro Hero 4 Silver and Nikon d750 for the stills.

Severe storm with possible funnel or tornado Wapella, IL 6 7 15
This thing was up in a little notch area of a severe storm that rolled through about 7:30 pm this evening. It showed rotation on radar velocity. Not 100% sure on this, but whatever it was, it was a lot more exciting then the stuff we have been getting.

Amazing Illinois Supercell, Tornado, and lightning! (4K)
A supercell in Illinois would produce four tornadoes, one of which was rated an EF-3 and isfilmed in the middle of the video. At the time of the video, it was just at the start of its 18.7 mile path. I wouldn't have guessed that a supercell as beautiful as this one would be possible in central Illinois, but here it is. Expect more of this structure out on the open plains of Kansas vs. Illinois. I had a successful chase on April 4th, 2023 and none of these tornadoes caused any fatalities.
