We took a day trip to Ashdod, Israel, and it was only a short drive from Tel Aviv. We first stopped at an amazing Aunty who is known for her Moroccan food. We then had an incredible Tunisian sandwich in Ashdod, before finishing with a gourmet fish lunch.

“The Old Lady” - There’s no restaurant name, but setting up around 11 am in a small park in Ashdod, this Aunty serves some unbelievable Moroccan Jewish food. We ordered a plate of tuna stewed in chili and a plate of mixed beef parts, mostly tongue and head meat, stewed in the same chili. It was one of the best meals I ate in Israel.
Total price - 80 ILS ($22.33)

Mauris Tunisian Frikase - Another legendary hold in the wall food spot you have to try when you’re in Ashdod is Mauris Tunisian Frikase, a type of fry bread sandwich. The bread is fried then filled with a variety of harissa, vegetables and tuna. Mauris also insisted I try some Boukha, a Tunisian fig spirit. The combo was awesome.
Frikase - 30 ILS ($8.37)

Pescado Restaurant - Finally for lunch we drove over to Pescado, a gourmet fish restaurant. The owner's family has a fishing industry, so that’s why they have such a good source of best quality fish from the Mediterranean. The food was fresh and excellent. I enjoyed the fusion of Middle Eastern and Japanese cooking ingredients and techniques.
Total price - 400 ILS ($111.63)

And that completes our Ashdod food tour. Food was amazing, my favorite was the amazing elderly lady who cooks Moroccan food that will blow your taste buds!

Arabic Kaek Sandwich at Salaheddin Bakery - INCREDIBLE Sesame Bread Sandwich in Amman, Jordan!

More details about this incredible Amman bakery:

Watch all the Jordan food and travel videos here:

On Day 12 in Amman, Jordan, I had one of the best fresh loaves of bread I’ve ever had, then we had a delicious final Jordanian meal before heading to the airport at night. This is the end of the Jordan travel food video series.

00:49 Salaheddin Bakery (مخبز صلاح الدين) - Salaheddin Bakery is known as being one of the oldest and best bakeries in all of Amman, and it’s especially known throughout the city for selling kaek sandwiches, a sandwich made with small loaves of bread that are covered in a layer of sesame seeds before being freshly baked. When you go to Salaheddin Bakery, everything is self service, you grab your own bread, slice it in half, and then you can proceed to add in cheese, hard baked eggs, and then season it with za’atar, a mix of thyme and spices blend for seasoning. I added in a little extra chili sauce and a sprinkle of salt, and I was good to go. The sandwich was so simple, and included just a few ingredients, but as soon as I took my first bite, I knew exactly why it was so famous and so popular: the bread. The bread was stunning. It was fluffy on the inside, crunchy on the outside, with an abundance of fragrant crispy sesame seeds on top. If you love bread, when you visit Amman, Salaheddin Bakery, is a restaurant you have to check out.

When the owners of Salaheddin Bakery saw me taking photos and videos, they were extremely kind. They invited me into the kitchen to see them making the bread and firing the bread, and they started giving me snacks to try as well. Salaheddin Bakery is also a full restaurant where they serve ful medames and falafel, and they also have a desserts shop as well. The owners of the restaurant were very friendly and generous. Ying and I ended up spending about an hour just hanging out and enjoying our last day in Amman.

11:16 Rakwet Arab Cafe - For lunch, we walked over to Rakwet Arab Cafe, a restaurant that was located just a short distance from our hotel in Amman, and I had seen it from the outside and thought it looked pretty good. Inside the cafe and restaurant, it was nicely decorated with an Arabic theme. I ordered Arabic salad, tabbouleh (one of my favorite Middle Eastern dishes), the mixed grill (because I couldn’t resist one more plate of kebabs before leaving Jordan), and finally some dish made in a claypot with chicken. The claypot chicken was brought to our table, and they opened in by cracking a seal of clay. The cover came off with a puff of steam, and it smelled delicious. The chicken was moist and juicy while very fragrant. The grilled meat was also delicious. But what I really loved at Rakwet Arab Cafe was he tabbouleh which was some of the best I had during my trip to Jordan. It had a fantastic lemon juice dressing and it was stronger with garlic than other versions that I had eaten previously - something I love. Our total price for everything came to 33 JD ($46.40).

16:09 Spices - On our way back to the hotel, I stopped at a spice shop to pick up a few souvenirs to bring back to Bangkok with me - mostly that means a few bags of za’atar, the thyme herb mixture. The total price for everything I bought came to 11.50 JD ($16.17)

16:50 Dinner at La Locanda - We had a quick dinner at our hotel before heading to the airport.

This wraps up this Jordan food and travel guide video series. I want to say a big thank you to the Jordan Tourism Board ( for inviting Ying and I to Jordan to experience the food, culture, and attractions. Jordan is an amazing country, I experience kindness and generosity, and lots of delicious food. Also a big thank you to Fadi ( who was our excellent guide during our trip.

There are few cities in the world that can compare to Jerusalem in terms of ancient history and religious significance. It’s one of the most fascinating cities in the world, and it’s a city that I’ve wanted to visit my entire life. Marrakech is known as a bustling, wild city in the heart of Morocco, full of snake charmers and everything you could want to buy. Tucked away amongst everything are all kinds of different foods and tasty Moroccan street snacks to try. We set out to explore the best Moroccan street food in Marrakech, Morocco, on a massive Marrakesh food tour, starting our day with a unique msemen wrap near the main square.

Msemen is a very popular bread in Morocco, and Foundouk Gargaa does their msemen very differently, using the msemen as a wrap instead. We continued our Marrakesh food tour tasting the spicy khoudenjal tea, and discovering the most amazing Berber meat sandwich, hidden away from all the typical, way-too-touristy meat sandwich places. This hidden gem is a top food to eat in Marrakech.

Exploring the medina for the best Moroccan street food in Marrakech, we stumbled upon the spice market, full of incredible smells, flavours and tastes to sample, this is the place to come for tea and spices!

Even though we’ve tasted many delicious and flavourful tagines, there was one we still hadn’t tried, a rabbit tagine. Rabbit tagine is more popular in Marrakesh than other parts of the country. Very unique and tasty, this was definitely some of the best Moroccan street food in Marrakech, Morocco.

We hope you enjoy this epic Marrakesh food tour, tasting rabbit tagine, msemen wraps, Berber sandwiches and more! We tried some of the best Moroccan street food in Marrakech, Morocco today, but stay tuned, there’ll be more Moroccan food adventures next week.

Trying TUNISIAN food! Tunis local food and STREET FOOD tour! الغذاء التونسي

We spent two days in Tunisia's capital of Tunis eating amazing Tunisian food and meeting super friendly locals - some let us sample their food, some gave us free makroudhs (Tunisian pastries) and some shared a giant feast with us while teaching us about Tunisian culture! As you can probably tell, the hospitality is truly amazing in Tunisia, and I am so thankful to everyone who made us feel so welcome in Tunisia!

Now, onto the food - we started our day off at a small, hole-in-the wall restaurant where a very cheerful man served us two classics: lablabi and ojja. Lablabi is a hearty chickpea stew made with harrisa (a spicy chili paste), pieces of bread, tuna and olives. A hearty and delicious start to the tour! The ojja (chicken and vegetables fried together with a lot of harissa and olive oil) may very well have been our favorite dish of this whole tour! Mopping up that caramelized chicken sitting in a pool of spicy harrisa and olive oil was just too good to be true.

After trying some awesome Tunisian tea following our first meal, we made our way to what seemed to be a pretty popular restaurant - El Baraka! Here, we tried an eggplant mix with lots of olive oil and tomatoes which we scooped up with more bread, as well as their signature grilled fish which was super smoky, with crispy skin and extremely tender and juicy meat!

On our way back to our accommodation we tried some Tunisian sweets called makroudh. They were amazing! We were also given these for free by the owners of the stand making them, we are so thankful! The Tunisian hospitality shines through here, once again!

Finally, the next day we meet up with two locals - Yassine and Yassine. Together we enjoy a giant Tunisian feast at the legendary Dar El Jeld, a restaurant a bit fancier than what we're usually used to! The interior was made in traditional Tunisian style and was stunningly beautiful. We tried a lot of food, ranging from fluffy cous cous (Tunisia's national dish), unbelievably tender lamb and stuffed phylo pastries (brik)! Everything was amazing, and on top of that, we were able to learn a lot about Tunisian culture thanks to our new friends, with whom we had a great time!

Special thank you to Serena Shigar Fort for sponsoring my stay:

On Day 8 of our trip to Pakistan we traveled from Islamabad to Skardu to begin our Himalaya / Karakoram Mountain region, Gilgit-Baltistan, part of this Pakistani food tour. If you haven’t seen the other videos in this series, watch them all here:

We flew from Islamabad to Skardu, in Gilgit-Baltistan. Even the flight was spectacular as we passed by Nanga Parbat enroute to the gorgeous city of Skardu.

Quick snack in Skardu - After landing we proceeded through security and immigration and continued on to Skardu town. We stopped in Skardu town to run a few errands along the way, and we happen to stop just outside a small shop selling chapli kebabs and a few different Pakistani curries. We had to stop for a quick snack. The chapli kebabs were excellent as usual, and the saag with meat curry was spectacular.
Total price - 680 PKR ($5.05)

Serena Shigar Fort ( - It was about a 30 minute drive from Skardu to Shigar, and it was a spectacular drive through the mountains until we emerged into Shigar, another lush valley. The scenery was other-worldly. We checked into Serena Shigar Fort (thanks to them for sponsoring our stay).

Baltistan Food - The real highlight of the day was having a local Baltistan food dinner where an amazing family prepared 14 different traditional dishes. Many of the dishes included whole grains, fresh goat, and plenty of apricot oil for seasoning and flavor. It was an amazing meal, and fellowship, and just a taste of the Baltistan, Pakistan.

Uzbekistan Day 5: Tandoori Lamb and Full Tour of Ancient Bukhara, Uzbekistan!

From Samarkand, we drove to Bukhara, another ancient and well preserved city in Uzbekistan. What’s great about Bukhara is that it’s an entire ancient city that was important on the Silk Road that’s well preserved and still functioning.

Kolkhoznyy Rynok Bazaar - Ravshan ( who I’ve been traveling with in Uzbekistan is originally from Bukhara, so he was a great person to be with. We started in the morning, along with Bekruz for breakfast at the bazaar. We bought honey and kaymak then some very kind ladies at the bread market invited us to sit at their table. A perfect Uzbek breakfast to get the day started.

Great Minaret of the Kalon - Dating back to the 12th century, without a doubt, the Great Minaret of Kalon is a landmark in Bukhara. Even Genghis Khan, while in the process of destroying much of Bukhara, spared the minaret because of its vast beauty. It truly is spectacular.

Chor Bakr Restaurant - But we were very interested in a local Bukhara food speciality, tandoori lamb. So we drove out to Chor Bakr Restaurant, who prepare about 100 kg. of tandoori lamb for lunch. And luckily we arrived right as they were pulling it out of the oven!
Price per plate - 75,000 UZS ($9.08)

Magistral Plov Center - As I’ve learned and probably you have too, you can’t visit a city in Uzbekistan without having plov, the national dish and ultimate dish of Uzbekistan. For this version we had Bukhara plov, quite a bit more meaty than the Samarkand version, and loaded with sheep butt.

Bolo Hauz Mosque - Another beautiful sight in Bukhara is Bolo Hauz Mosque with its impressive wooden entrance area. And across the street from the mosque you’ll find Bolo Xauz Teahouse, a nice little tea house where we had a tea and snack and just relaxed for a minute. Lastly for our sightseeing of the day in Bukhara, we climbed to the top of The Ark Fortress, a huge fortified palace in Bukhara near the old city.

Labi Hovuz Restaurant - For dinner we ate at one of Bukhara’s most legendary restaurants, located in the old public square. The ambiance was great, and the hearty lamb and potato soup cooked in clay pots was delicious.

It was another wonderful day and learning experience in Uzbekistan.

If you haven’t already, you can watch the entire Uzbekistan food travel series here:

Uzbekistan Day 3: Tashkent to Samarkand - Food Road Trip Uzbekistan!

On Day 3 we packed up in Tashkent, and made our way driving to Samarkand, one of the most historically significant cities in all of Uzbekistan, and Central Asia. But this is not the Samarkand food and history tour yet, this is the the journey to get there, which involved some incredible food stops along the way.

Chinoz Fish Market - One of my favorite Uzbek meals of the trip was at the fish bazaar on the way to Samarkand. There are a series of restaurants to choose from, located just a stone's throw from one of the biggest rivers in the country. You choose your fish, it was carp, then she hacked it into small pieces, and deep fried it to a crisp. But the real unique aspect of this style of Uzbek fried fish was that she took garlic in water, and tossed it all over the fried fish right out of the oil. Something I’ve never seen before, and it was quite fascinating to see. Fish was great.
Total price - 144,000 UZS ($17.76)

Melons Stop - Melons are native to Central Asia and they are naturally some of the sweetest and some of the best tasting in the world. They were for sure the sweetest best tasting melons I’ve ever had in my life.

Afsona Jizzax Somsa - Next stop on this Uzbekistan food road trip was to eat a giant somsa (samosa). Now you have probably already seen that you can’t really go a day in Uzbekistan without eating a somsa, and that’s a good thing because they are delicious. But these are super sized, filled with ½ kg. Of mutton and onions, and cooked in the tandoori oven. To eat these speciality somsa you add in some type of oil and tomato sauce.

Samarkand, Uzbekistan - Finally in the evening we arrived to Samarkand, and just along the highway we caught a glimpse of the mighty building and history of the city.

Samarkand Restaurant - Food here was alright. We ordered a sharing kebab tray.
Total price - 227,000 ($28)

Thank you for watching Uzbekistan Day 3!

► The BEST VPNs for China:

Today, we're going DEEP for some of the BEST street food in Marrakech, starting out bright and early for some EXTREME whole roast sheep AKA Royal Sheep AKA Sheep Popsicles. This is a classic Marrakech street food, the Méchoui, a whole roast baby sheep cooked underground in a big coal pit that is sealed with clay. We found the best place to eat it in Marrakech, where they have 6 ovens full of these baby sheep. They are served one by one to the hungry lineup of customers outside at the restaurant who either take it home to eat or who eat it street food style at the restaurant. This is definitely one of the most unique street foods in the world and super delicious to try on the streets of Marrakech!

If you're thinking of coming to Morocco to eat street food, you definitely have to come to Marrakech to eat this Mechoui AKA royal sheep. We found this at Ayachi grill on the outskirts of Marrakech.

After it's roast underground in the coal oven, its taken out and wrapped up in a plastic bag to let it steam and soften up. Then, it's chopped up and served on a plate with some bread, salt, and cumin. It's incredibly delicious!

After tasting that amazing Mechoui aka sheep POPSICLE, we kept going on the meat tour to get some BBQ beef kebabs right on the street. This is one of the best street foods in Marrakech, because it's served with this funky and strong butter that tastes like blue cheese.
This was found at bab taghzout. The BBQ is so smoky and it was fun to watch.

And to finish off our Marrakech street food adventure, we found another meat that was actually not my favourite. This was the stuffed spleen sandwich. It was full of beef and liver and had a funky offal aroma. We found it at Sidi Mimoun.

It was an AMAZING day in Marrakech, Morocco. We ate 3 delicious meats and it was all worth it! I hope you enjoy this travel vlog and the delicious street food that we found!

My new blog:
Check out for 3 months free w/ 1 year pack and 49% OFF! Today, we're going DEEP into the heart of downtown Marrakech, to try some AMAZING Moroccan Street Food. You can explore with us as we explore Jamaa el fnaa, the main square in downtown Marrakech.

► The BEST VPNs for China:

This was my first time traveling to Marrakech, Morocco, and I fell in love with the atmosphere and Moroccan street food scene immediately. In Marrakech, there is an old atmosphere that makes you feel like you're walking into an ancient movie.

First, we are trying some amazing Moroccan lamb. It had some delicious Moroccan spices and seasonings and was extremely juicy. Our friend Firas brought us to stall #13 in Jama el Fna. They also had another classic Moroccan food, the Tanjia. This was huge chunks of moroccan lamb put into a clay pot and boiled with smen (moroccan preserved butter) and preserved lemons. It was extremely tender and juicy and flavoured really well with moroccan spice and seasonings like salt and cumin and dipped with bread.

And of course, in Jama Al Fna there was a lot of other moroccan foods like Moroccan Tagine, Merguez sausages, fresh orange juice, snail soup (which was delicious!), and of course Moroccan mint tea!

If you visit Morocco, make sure to come to the downtown Jamaa Al Fnaa square in Marrakech. The food here was super delicious and the energy was amazing, especially on your first night right after coming off the plane! That rush is amazing!

The Morocco Street Food that we found in this street food vlog is listed below:

1) Morrocan Tanjia, steamed meat, and sheep head:
Found at stall number 13 in Jamaa Al Fna

2) Amazing Moroccan Snail Soup (Bebouch) - We found this one at stall #5.

3) Fresh glass of Moroccan Orange juice - Stall #19.

WELIGAMA, SRI LANKA

Weligama is a beautiful town on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, and they happen to have some incredible local food. During the Best of Sri Lanka Food Tour with The Hungry Tourist, we were invited by Uchith and Nick to a relatives home, where they prepared a massive home cooked village cooking and eating experience.

I went a little early to see some of the Sri Lankan food cooking and as they prepared all the dishes. Most of the Sri Lankan food dishes were prepared in earthenware clay pots, cooked over fire to give each dish an incredible complexity and smokiness.

There were more than 19 different Sri Lankan food dishes that they prepared and that we tasted during the day. Some of the dishes were local regional southern Sri Lankan food, and each was spectacular in flavor and complexity of spice.

I wanted to take a little of every single dish, and my plate piled up so high, I didn’t ever realize it. It was an absolutely Sri Lankan food feast!

Huge thank you to Uchith, Nick, and Lakk from The Station LK for hosting us at their family home and for putting on a spectacular home cooked village food experience in Sri Lanka!

Looking For Delicious Italian Food And Drink Or Two? This Restaurant Is All The Rage

Scopa's airplane hangar-like space in Venice is dominated by a 50-foot bar, communal high-tops, booming acoustics, and a jovial crowd at happy hour. The resulting vibe can only be described as surprisingly pleasant chaos. Bartenders are yelling out NEGRONI orders, servers are dancing around tables to drop Italian cold-cut platters, and diners are leaning in to converse over piles of handmade noodles.

Lovely Duke and Duchess of Sussex tasting the moroccan food

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan joined chef Moha Fedal at Villa des Ambassadedur hotel in Rabat for the cooking demonstration on the last day of their three-day trip to Morocco.

The food was served up by children who were cooking from Together: Our Community Cookbook.

The duchess was the driving force behind the publication of the charity cookbook, which was worked on and raised money for survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire.

The royal couple also toured The Royal Moroccan Equestrian Club Dar Essalam, next to the Royal palace, where the state runs a programme helping children with autism and other conditions.
