The average temperature decreases as you travel south; January and February are the warmest months with July being the coldest month of the year. Remember to pack your waterproof hiking boots, waterproof rain jacket, swimsuit, flip flops, thin gloves, hiking socks, sunglasses, and a camera with extra batteries.
New Zealand's currency is the New Zealand Dollar (NZ$). You should expect to be able to switch between cash and cards quite seamlessly, as all major credit cards can be used in New Zealand. Alcohol and restaurant meals can range from moderate to quite expensive so prepare yourself accordingly.

Traveling around New Zealand is amazing. There are so many great spots, you can just pull over and stop at awesome view points. From Kairoura, Abel Tasman National Park to Tongariro National Park. Hiring a Jucy Van we spent 2 weeks seeing the sights of what NZ has to offer and it did not disappoint. Starting in Christchurch and heading to Lake Tekapo. Then off to Aoraki/Mt Cook National park before heading down the east coast to Dunedin and then Invercargill before heading over to Milford Sound. Finally back up towards Queenstown, wanaka and then the west coast through glacier country before heading back to Christchurch through Arthurs Pass. 2 people, 2200km, Mountains, lakes, glaciers, snow, beaches, waterfalls, we did it all so sit back and be inspired to pack your bags!

It was my priceless memories to drove a motorhome around the South NZ with my girls! Not too hard to explore the car but it really takes time to figures out, but it was fun for sure! I marked 10 out of 10 to all my drivers!

Ultimate North Island New Zealand Travel Guide
After coming back home to the US, I compiled a (very long) list of some of my favorite places I went in the North Island of NZ. I ended up falling in love with almost every destination I visited, so there are a lot of places on this list!
