Travellers from all over the world dream of seeing: fjords, glaciers, waterfalls, and small wooden houses against the backdrop of all this. In this documentary, I tried to combine the success of the country and its beauty. And also show the unusual Norwegian prisons and how a real brown oil platform works from the inside.

16 Best Places to Visit in Norway - Travel Video

Check out all the places seen in this video:
From its majestic mountains and famous fjords to its modern yet picturesque cities, Norway is simply one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Picture-perfect landscapes beg to be explored by foot, car, bike or boat. Whether taking in the breathtaking wonder of the northern lights or the summer sun glistening on a massive glacier, Norway is a great adventure in any season. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Norway:

BERGEN, NORWAY | Best Things To Do In & Around Bergen

The city of Bergen is located along the southwestern coast of Norway. Surrounded by mountains and fjords, it’s a haven for nature and outdoor enthusiasts. But as a UNESCO World Heritage City, Bergen also combines history, culture, and an interesting urban life. This charming city might have a small-town feel, but it has tons of entertaining activities to offer. In this video, we break down our 6 favorite things to do in and around Bergen.

???? WHERE TO STAY IN BERGEN:
- Barfot Apartments (budget option with kitchen in center of town):

6. Try the local food
Norwegian culture is highly influenced by fishing and this is also visible in their cuisine. Visit Bergen’s fish market at the waterfront and you’ll see merchants selling their fresh catch of the day as they have for centuries. Other dishes Norwegians are proud of is “boller” (sweet buns) and “Pølse” (Norwegian hot dogs).

5. Visit a museum on a rainy day
Bergen has many interesting museums that you can visit, such as the Norway Fisheries Museum, the Lepra museum, and the Bergen University Museum of Natural History.

☑️ List of more museums:

4. Day hike to highest peak in Bergen municipality
Sitting between various mountains, Bergen naturally has plenty of great hiking terrain. At 987 meters tall, Gullfjellet is the highest peak in Bergen municipality and a classic for local hikers. Located a bit outside the city, this trail feels truly remote and is a great escape. The trail starts at Osavatnet and runs past a cabin (Redningshytten) on the way to the summit. To get to the trailhead, it’s best to rent a car or combine public transportation with a taxi ride.

3. Bryggen & the Hanseatic Museum
Bryggen is one of Bergen's most iconic and popular attractions. With its vibrant atmosphere, you will find plenty of things to do. You can stroll through the narrow, crooked alleyways, grab a local beer at one of the many cafés, and learn about its historic importance at the Hanseatic Museum. A free guided tour is included when visiting the museum, during which you get to know more about the Hanseatic merchants and their daily life at Bryggen.

☑️ Book your visit:

2. Hike one of the 7 peaks
Bergen is surrounded by seven peaks, and you can hike them all! The most popular ones are Mount Fløyen and Mount Ulriken, which are easily accessible by foot or bus from the city center. Both are short but steep hikes of a few kilometers each, offering spectacular views of the city, the fjord, and the ocean from the top. There is a cable car to Ulriken and a railway to Fløyen if you don't want to hike.

1. Fjord Cruise
Norway is known for its fjords, and so is Bergen. If this is your first time in Norway, make sure to go on a day tour of the fjords. Bergen offers a wide variety of guided tours, with Mostraumen being the most popular and accessible one. During a 3 hour cruise, you will see the varied western Norway fjord landscapes, consisting of steep cliffs and waterfalls. You eventually reach the Mostraumen Strait and the tiny village of Mo!

Life in the Arctic Circle - Northern Norway

DIRECTOR’S NOTES:
Antoine Janssens here. I am the writer, director and filmmaker of Life in the Arctic Circle - Northern Norway

I’m a 29 year old movie director, photographer and storyteller. I’m extremely passionate about sharing positive messages through emotional content. I’ve been fortunate to travel the world and experience it’s diversity. Meeting different cultures, people and experiencing the richness of wildlife, nature and untouched places.

LIFE IN THE ARCTIC CIRCLE
This movie is something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time. The North and everything up there fascinates me. Especially during the winter season. Huge untouched landscapes, rough weather that constantly changes, rich wildlife and people who live through this daily.

In February 2019 I went with my girlfriend to northern Norway to spend a few days there. I couldn't resist the urge to film everything I saw. There was so much beauty up in the Arctic.

When I got home, I saw the potential of my footage and knew there was more that I could do with it. However, I was missing key elements that could turn this into a story. A few months later, I returned to the same place to complete what I had already created. But this time with very concrete content and story ideas. For this trip I was accompanied by my good friend
Florian Fatton, who is a great photographer, and Michel Janssens (my dad), who like me loves the Nordic culture.

Creating content up there is unique. Everything is beautiful (landscapes, lights etc ...) but it’s not easy. It’s dark almost all of the time in winter. We only had 2 hours of real light per day!

This movie is a short story about a man from the Sami tribe who’s lived up there for his entire life. It's also the first video of a series of others that I’m working on... ☺

FLYING OVER NORWAY (4K UHD) 1HR Ambient Drone Film + Music by Nature Relaxation™ for Stress Relief

REMASTERED VERSION @ | 2019 Sequel, FLYING OVER SCOTLAND @ | 7 HOUR VERSION @ | BUY: | WATCH ON-DEMAND: | ABOUT: Relax for a full hour and let your worries be replaced by stunning aerial views from some of Norway's most beautiful & iconic locations captured in ultra high definition. It's paired with a brand new ambient musical masterpiece by The Cynic Project (notes below). Edited & produced by David Huting and cinematography thanks to Stefan Zimmerman. MORE INFO & LINKS:

NORWAY LOCATIONS SHOWN: Lofoten, Nustjord, Flakstad, Ramberg, Bidge to Torvoya, Ytresand Beach, Björnsand, Mærvollspollen, Unstad, Grunnførfjorden sandbanks, Henningsvær, Vikjorden, Lødingen, Rørvikstranda, Straumen. Filmed by Stefan Zimmerman on the DJI Phantom 4 Pro Drone.

ABOUT THE MUSIC: This production is a continuous mix of three ambient works, each work featuring a different Hatfield sister :) The first song features Erin Hatfield on vocals, and later on a beautiful sounding hang drum provides some rhythmic backing, then featuring a vocal solo by Erin Hatfield around the 10:00 mark. The second song is a remix from my game, Pixelsphere. The third song features Ashley Hatfield. Ashley's vocals are washed in reverb and linger as chord swells in the background which are combined with a boy's choir sound. My wife Julie Hatfield's lovely vocals are featured in all three songs. Big thanks to the vocalists Erin, Ashley and Julie for helping me with this composition! ~Alex Smith. MUSIC NOTES: This ambient score features a very unique instrument: the hang drum. From Alex: They are pretty cool and organic sounding kind of like a steel drum that you hold in your hand, with the exception that the instrument itself is a specific type of resonator so it the way it rings after it's struck with your palm. For more cynic project links & videos visit or check out Alex's AWESOME side-scrolling musical game Pixelpshere at

Oslo to Bergen, Norway by Train through the mountains and Boat through the fjords

travel videos & photos at: with text, maps & links.
We’re going to take you on one of the most spectacular train rides in all of Europe: starting in Oslo, we’re heading cross-country through fascinating mountain terrain, passing lakes and rivers and waterfalls, and then by boat through a vast fjord, finally we will be arriving later in the day at the ancient capital of Norway the town of Bergen. This special trip is called Norway in a Nutshell. Showing you a big cross-section of the country in just one day.
Please subscribe:
The scenery keeps getting more spectacular as we climb through the central regions of Norway, getting a little bit like Switzerland with tall mountains in the distance and glaciers, with lakes where the water is clear blue color.
We change trains mid-way at Myrdal and board the Flam railway which is one of the most scenic rides in Europe. It travels about four miles from the mountain tops down through seven lush valleys to the waters below in the Sognefjord, Norway’s largest fjord. There we catch a boat to Bergen through the Sognefjord. There's lots of great scenery during the boat ride, with the mountains towering high above on both sides of this chasm.

How to Norway: What is a fjord? | Visit Norway

Norway is famous for its beautiful fjords. Over 1000 fjords can be found around the country. But what exactly IS a fjord? Even some of the locals we asked didn't really know! In this episode of How to Norway, Dag and Katarina share a few points on what makes a fjord a fjord:

- The water in a fjord is seawater! A fjord is connected to the ocean, so it’s like a backwards ocean river going INTO the country!
- The fjords are a result of the ice age! The ice carved out U-shaped valleys that got filled with seawater.
- A fjord has to be longer than it is wide.
- Norway is the country in the world that is best known for having fjords.
- The word fjord is a Norwegian word used in many languages.
- Being home to more than 1,200 fjords, Norway has the second longest coastline in the world. Not bad for the 61st-largest country on the planet.
- Norwegians live by the fjord, travel on them, fish and swim in them. Just like the Vikings used to do!

Learn more about Norwegian fjords and pick a perfect Norwegian fjord for your adventures at:

How to Norway is a new Youtube series from Visit Norway. Two friends from Norway and Sweden, Katarina and Dag, explore Norway to give you everything you need to know before your next Norway adventure! They will travel all around Norway, all year round, and you are invited to join them on their journey! Leave a comment below if you have any questions or thoughts on where they should travel next!
