Dann in den Westen nach Galway und zum Schluss: Achill Island. Einmal rund um die Nordhälfte der Insel. Und meistens an der Küste entlang, auf dem berühmten Wild Atlantic Way. Atemberaubende Ausblicke und liebenswerte, gastfreundliche Menschen inklusive.
Cold and stormy: Ireland's north. Our trip starts in Dublin, then to Belfast, Northern Ireland. We continue to Ballycastle, via Derry to Malin Head. Then west to Galway and finally Achill Island. Once around the northern half of the island. And mostly along the coast, on the famous Wild Atlantic Way. Breathtaking views and lovely, hospitable people included.

Nordirland, die Ostküste und Dublin | Motorradreise Folge 2 | Rund um Irland
Der zweite Teil unserer Reise durch Irland führt uns durch Nordirland und an der Ostküste entlang zurück in den Süden zur Fähre nach Cork.
Der Wild Atlantic Way wird in Nordirland zur 200 km langen Causeway Costal Route. Und die führt durch Landschaften und mystische Orte, die echt das Zeug dazu haben, einen in eine Fantasywelt mitzunehmen. Und an den Drehorten des Quotenhits `Game of Thrones´, die man hier in ganz Nordirland finden kann, da gelingt uns das fast sogar. Überhaupt ist dieser Küstenabschnitt mit nordirischen Attraktionen nur so gespickt, die sich wie an einer Perlenschnur aufreihen: Carrick-a-Rede mit seiner markanten Hängebrücke, der Giants Causeway (Damm der Riesen) und die Dark Hedges (dunkle Hecken).
Wir besuchen Derry/Londonderry und treffen wir auf die unübersehbaren Erinnerungen an die gewalttätigen Auseinandersetzungen zwischen Protestanten und Katholiken, die hier in den 1970er Jahren eskalierten. In Belfast schließlich, da reisen wir 110 Jahre zurück in die Zeit der Titantic, die hier gebaut wurde. In der Nähe von Dublin, da können wir endlich die herzliche Einladung von Lorcan einlösen und erfahren, was irische Gastfreundschaft bedeutet. Zum Schluß krönen wir dann unsere Reise mit einem Trip durch die Hochmoore der einsamen Wicklow Mountains.
Die Abspannmusik kommt wieder von Tom McHugh, dem begnadeten Sänger aus Donegal/Irland.

Our spectacular adventure in Ireland from drone. We visited in 7 days lot of wonderful places - Cliffs of Moher, Rock of Cashel, Kilkenny castle, Drombeg Stone Circle, Burren National Park or Charles Fort. Due to the irish weather we couldn't fly with drone in many places. We also visited Galway, which is amazing small towm full of lovely people, irish music and pubs. Unfortunately last day came the hurricane Ophelia and we had to stay in our cottage on the farm.

Despite its small size, bustling cities and sprawling suburbs, Ireland still boasts stretches of roads and trails where visitors can feel as if they have the island all to themselves. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Ireland:
Northern Ireland 4K - Causeway Coastal - Scenic Drive
Wednesday morning drive along the Northern Ireland Coast; home to Game of Thrones filming locations, castles, sheep, whiskey distilleries, beaches and stunning views. Video starts in the small village of Ballycastle and passes by a number of these attractions on the way to to Portballintrae in Bushmills Northern Ireland part of the United Kingdom. The camera battery ran out so I missed the last 30 minutes driving into Portstewart. The Giants Causeway is the most well known attraction but it isn't accessible by car but you can see signs and the turn off for the parking lots. Game of Thrones is well known for filming throughout this area and Northern Ireland in general. Stunning landscape! What I also couldn't capture in the video is the castles along the coastal cliffs. Its about as picture perfect as it gets. When you visit, make sure to stop at all these castle ruins.
