Iran's Incredible RAINBOW ISLAND - Hormuz (Iran Travel Vlog 2022)
In the 9th episode of Paths Less Traveled - Iran, I’m visiting the absolute gem of Iran’s islands in the Persian Gulf - Hormuz (Hormoz).
Hormuz, in the Strait of Hormuz is sparsely developed but with incredible geological features and places that feel like you’re in an alien world!
We’ll travel all around the island, visiting the Silence Valley (دره سکوت), The Salt Goddess/Divine (الهه نمک), Rainbow Valley and the Rainbow Mountains (دره رنگینکمان), The Valley of the Statues (دره مجسمه ها), Red beach (Blood Beach) and Turtle Rock.
Of course they’ll be some great local food too, trying Tomshi Bread (made with local soil!) on the street, and the mind-blowingly delicious Ghalye Mahi (local fish stew).
Come and join me for what was always going to be a highlight of my trip around Iran!

In the late summer of 2022 I embarked on an epic road trip around Iran, during a time of unrest as protests escalated across the country.
Covering around 6200km over 24 days, I was able to see this incredible country in a way that many are not fortunate enough to see, and to record my experiences in a way that has not been done before.
Safety concerns meant that I had to limit my filming on occasion, and stay well away from any signs of the troubles going on.
However, what I did see was an incredible insight. Some of the most wonderful and welcoming people, incredible history and culture, and mind blowing food.

Hormuz Island, also known as Hormoz, is an Iranian island in the Persian Gulf. Located in the Strait of Hormuz, 8 kilometres (5 mi) from the coast of Iran, the island is part of the Hormozgan Province. Reddish ocher on the island and its beaches.
The area of Hormuz Island is 42 km2 (16 sq mi). It is riddled with sedimentary rock and layers of volcanic ash on its surface. The highest point of the island is about 186 metres (610 ft ) above sea level. The soil and water are salty due to lack of precipitation.

After more than a month in the deserts of Iran, is it now time for the islands in the Persian Gulf op Iran. Hormuz is a small island filled with tourists. I'm going to do something that no tourist does, I've decided to follow the coast and walk around the whole island. This turns out to be harder than I thought.
