We get the full Azores spearfishing experience with our new doctor friends, we've traded sails for engines and we're speeding around some of the best spots here in the middle of the Atlantic. Yep there's still fish out here if you're good enough, even though Riley's having a bit of trouble and Andre's stuck his catch to the ocean floor ???? If you're ever on Sao Jorge, look out for our mate John for a tour of this wonderful island, a lovely place with lovely company. And Lenny finally gets some wheels. You bring 'em up on a boat and they want a truck. Go figure...

Double BIRTHDAY Celebrations in the Azores (BEST Weekend Ever..)
#268 Hello, yeah, look, we blew up the quadbike. Or it blew up on us. And it wasted our day. And it gave out in the middle of a highway and we nearly melted in the sun. And yet, yet, this is the Azores. And being the Azores, nothing can actually go that far wrong, because pretty much wherever you are, wherever you look, it's beautiful and green and peaceful. Keep an eye out for the only tea plantation in Europe, with some of the best tea you can get. Turns out I've been having my tea wrong all my life and there's this one weird old trick....
Otherwise we're setting up shop on Sao Miguel. We'll be staying on land for a while because we know we're gonna have to spend some serious time here and it's going to be near impossible to leave. But yeah, consider this a long-winded way of saying you're formally invited to our weekend birthday celebrations, come hang out!

BAD WEATHER before we embark on a voyage south. ????
#281 We're in the not-so-terrible position of being stuck on the Azores. Our old foe The Weather has delayed our departure for Madeira but nevertheless we're making the most of it. Join us for some roaming around on Faial and some of our last moments on the Azores for this trip. Lenny meets a goat and we're getting ready for returning to open water sailing. It feels good to get back to the water and be working together as a team for some serious sailing. And with all the advanced telemetry and whatnot, sometimes you just have to flip a coin to decide which way to go.

When we were back in North Carolina dreaming and preparing for our Atlantic crossing we would google the Azores Archipelago and look at all of the incredible images that would pop up. We wanted so badly to see these amazing sights, to shiver in the cold water, taste the fruit, smell the crops, and feel the misty clouds drift past the green peaks. This is boat life and we're getting our life on the road again and hitting the waves. After some truly Top Gun piloting from yours truly to escape the marina, we're on our way to the next of the beautiful Azores Islands, Faial. As usual the wind is in our face and slow when we're sailing, and blowing hardest when we're on land. Boat life hey, but we've made it to the sailors paradise at Horta and we're ready to get stuck in.

Hiking The Beautiful Hills of Sao Jorge
#276 It's truly one of the best walks we have done. What is this place?? We go on a massive descent down the hills of Sao Jorge, hiking on to a little surf village. The Azores have been dotted by these beautiful settlements by the sea but this one might just take the cake. Possibly because it took such a big effort to get there. The people living there are seriously remote, what a place to live.
The Azores though, seriously, nicest people you'll meet in the world. We've been helped out of a jam more than a couple times, thanks once again to the kind folk of the middle Atlantic. And thank you guys for tuning in with us today!

#269 It's certainly feeling like we're never gonna leave Ponta Delgada. This time though it's because of the mounting pile of tasks, dodgy ovens and fibreglass repairs. La Vaga is looking more like a construction barge than home right now. As much as we want a functioning kitchen, we're really itching to get out on the water again. Especially because a submerged crater is just sitting there, come on let's goooooooo.
And we have a late change to the squad: Bri is leaving us, fair winds! But Andre returns, back on the boat for our Azores adventures. Welcome back, and let's hit the water.

On this vlog episode 43, we will give you an update on our Portuguese island home renovations.
We have been moving forward slowly and in a careful manner. There has been some electrical work and more demolition. There has also been some favorable thought-out adjustments and changes to our original ideas.

WE CHOOSE NO DIG GARDENING - AZORES - Portugal - Pico Island, - Enjoying island life. Episode 37
Hi Guys!
Join us while we experiment with a new way of gardening. We will be doing no dig for the very first time. This is not typical here on Pico Island; should be fun.
We will also be fixing a lava rock wall that fell down the other day; I guess there is a first time for everything. The Pico Pig Pen Churrasco was lit up again; chicken was finger licking good.
There is also a quick reno /electrical update!
