Audi e-tron GT Review, first car in NZ or Australia
Exclusive customer preview of a German imported left hand drive e-tron GT in Auckland, New Zealand. This is the first and currently only e-tron GT car in New Zealand or Australia.
It’s Audi’s answer to the Tesla Model S Plaid Plus & the Porsche Taycan Turbo. This car has two electric motors (one at the front, one at the back) and combined they can produce 598hp. However, the e-tron GT also comes with a boost function, which for 2.5 seconds will deliver 646hp. Not only that, but Audi claim it can hit 60mph in just 3.3 seconds. But in reality how does it really feel?

Audi Q4 E-Tron 40 - it’s got issues!
This week 3 issues have popped up in the Q4:
1. The mileage stopped appearing meaning that the mi/kWh numbers plummeted. Fixed itself overnight.
2. Electrical System Fault message. Car drive fine and it cleared while I was at work.
3. Volume drops as if satnav instructions are being spoken, but there are no instructions to say. Happens at random.
Two of these fixed themselves, the third is more a niggle than a problem.

Audi Q4 E-Tron 40 - Running costs (U.K.)
As I’ve now had the Q4 for 6 months I thought I’d have a look at how much it costs to run for a year based on my current usage.
There are a bunch of disclaimers here????
-This is based on charging in my local area and costs appear to vary drastically across the country.
-I don’t have a home or work charger so all my charging is done at public chargers.
-About half my charging is done at a leisure centre under 100m from my house.
-I often top up at free chargers while shopping/waiting for my kids.
-I’ve gone worst case with 3.0 m/kWh for the year. Over winter it was mostly 2.9-3.1, and it’s now around 3.6-3.9
.
-I’ve done one set based on 3.5 m/kWh as I think this will be my approximate average for the year.
-I’ve assumed the 520d would have kept its average of 46mpg but this is best case as the commute is now mostly town driving rather than motorway.
-The fuel cost of £1.60 per litre is a guess for the average for the year, this may be optimistic.

Audi Q4 E-Tron 40 Real Winter Range
I did a 360 mile trip in my Q4 E-Tron on 20th Dec 2021, this is how it did.
Temperature ranged from 4°C to -2°C, the weather was grim so headlights were on almost all the way.
The car is on the standard 20” wheels with Bridgestones, and it doesn’t have a heat pump.

As far as I can tell there’s no way to set a departure time to precondition the battery, only to heat or cool the interior

I’ve had my e-tron GT now for five months and I've done about 8,000km in it all over New Zealand. I got a chance to borrow a friend's RS e-tron GT for a month and I took both cars out for a side by side comparison.
What are all the ‘extras’ you get with the RS? Are they worth it? Is Audi onto a winner here with the e-tron GT?
Apparently at the time of publishing there are major production delays on the e-tron GT factory line, many RS cars have been made and are sitting at the factory waiting for a fix with the 22kw charging system. Delays, delays, delays with the covid chip shortages have made this a very rare car indeed.

The last time Audi made a flagship sports car, it was called the R8, and Iron Man drove it. Fast forward a decade, Audi has yet again made a flagship sports car though this time it's electric. It’s called the e-tron GT and what we have with us is the maddest, fastest, and the most powerful trim level offered on it - the RS e-tron GT. And guess what, Tony Stark drove this too. While the R8 shared its underpinnings with the baby Lamborghini of that time, the RS e-tron GT does it with the Porsche Taycan sports sedan EV. The Audi RS e-tron GT comes with a 93kWh battery pack and dual electric motor setup, one on each axle, putting out 637hp and 850Nm torques. The instant electric power allows the Audi RS e-tron GT to make the 0-100kph sprint in 3.3 seconds while also boasting a claimed range of 437kms. Audi allows you to customise the interior as well with trim level options ranging from carbon fibre to wood.

Exploring Southern Germany In An Audi Rs E-tron Gt On The Autobahn: An Electrifying Adventure!
A long time bucket list item, driving on the autobahn in a very fast car was checked off this year!
Travel along with us as we explore several cities in Southern Germany, as well as Northeastern France in our Audi RS e-tron GT. Our first fully electric vehicle came with some learning curves and a few surprises.

A week full of adventures of a lifetime!
Eight people from all over Europe and the US embark on an eight-day road trip through four of 12 Best of the Alps destinations, featuring, for the first time, four Audi e-tron.Together with the young and talented creators Yann from France; Rachelle from the United States; Andrea from Italy; Lina and Simon from Germany; Gui, who was born and raised in Portugal and now lives in Austria; David, who grew up in Germany and now also lives in Austria; and Allan from England, who now lives in Germany, we discovered the unique variety of modern Alpine lifestyle. It was a week to make memories, to fall in love with the outdoors, to indulge in culinary delights and marvel at architectural masterpieces. With great excitement we started our adventure that would take us to four of the most wonderful places in the Alps: Kitzbühel, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Seefeld and Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
