Living ALONE on Yemen's Remote Socotra Island

Socotra is hands-down one of the most epic places I've been to. On my recent trip to this Yemeni island with Welcome to Socotra, I spent an unforgettable 2 weeks camping, hiking, swimming and exploring.

In Socotra, on a remote beach, I met a modern-day Robinson Crusoe. This man lives alone, isolated from the rest of the world, and I want to tell you about his life.

Check my Instagram for daily updates on my adventures to not-so-popular tourist destinations:

And check the page of Welcome to Socotra: they organize tours to this paradise island, and I absolutely loved my tour with them:

Living on a tiny tropical island | Koh Lipe, Thailand

I have been living on Koh Lipe for 4 months, and as you'd expect, I spend a lot of time doing island things; snorkeling, scuba diving, walking along beautiful white sand beaches, etc. This island has absolutely stunning turquoise water and lots of coral so I'm never bored! I even found a running trail!

Palau is an island paradise standing up to the world

The tiny island of Palau is a remote, beautiful paradise and the rest of the world knows it. But existing in a connected world can put extreme stress on small countries. The nation of just 20,000 people has seen an influx of tourists recently, but that hasn’t necessarily been a good thing.

But visitors arriving by the tens of thousands from such behemoths as Japan, South Korea, and China, put considerable stress on Palau’s environment and economy.

Quartz News travels far into the Pacific to find out how the island nation of Palau is standing up for itself against the world’s superpowers.

All Alone: A Tropical ISLAND TO OURSELVES - Ep.88

Is this the deserted island of your dreams? Escaping to a tropical island paradise is the stuff of our dreams, making it a reality means always looking around the next corner just to see what is there. Escorted by whales, we sail towards the turquoise waters surrounding our very own deserted island What better way to self isolate?

We are a British couple who set off from England in 2016 to fulfill our dream of sailing around the world on our 37ft sail boat, Florence. Along the way we share the live aboard lifestyle with the highs and lows of travelling around the world by boat, our own little tiny house. Boat life out at sea on the ocean and off the grid.

Life on a Paradise Island in AFRICA (ZANZIBAR) 2022

I had been living in Mexico for 2 years and had a quick stop in Sweden before I headed out to Ethiopia and now Zanzibar in Tanzania. I was in the north part of the island called Kendwa. In this video you'll see what it's like to live on this Island located just off the coast of Tanzania. In the coming videos I will visit Nungwi and also Mnemba island that is owned by Bill Gates. Then probably head out to the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand and finally the Philippines.

949 Days living alone on an island + Broken dodger! - Ep142

Is this 'lazy' life taking care of Mother Nature still idyllic? We're getting closer to our passage to Borneo via Sumatra, but then DISASTER strikes...

We're often asked about how to get visas for all the countries we sail into, and on the whole it's fairly easy, but getting into Indonesia by boat is proving to be more arduous than we first thought.

Thanks to all our supporters on Patreon and the Rum Fund for your LOVE and encouragement.

We find an island paradise - Sailing Tarka Ep. 8

Proceeds from this video will go to the Coral Reef Alliance, but you can also support me directly (and specifically the production of these videos) by becoming a Patron:

Tarka is a 1973 Albin Vega 27 (8.2m) that I bought sight-unseen and without sailing experience on the island of St. Martin in April of 2017. I was thrust head-first into ocean sailing as I got Tarka safely south from what would become the most devastating hurricane seasons on record. We are now working our way west towards the Pacific.

I am sailing Tarka around the world to raise money and awareness for coral conservation by supporting the Coral Reef Alliance. You can learn more here:

or visit their website directly:

If you make a donation to their website directly in Tarka's honor, please send me an e-mail copy of your receipt so I can keep track of Tarka's fundraising. You can forward to:

theadventuresoftarka@gmail.com

Additional support for Tarka’s sail for CORAL has come from:

Soylent - Providing easy and healthy provisioning for long offshore passages
Sta Lok - Providing swageless terminals for portions of Tarka’s rigging, making it a DIY job and allowing for easy inspection

Could We Live a Simple Life in the Philippines? ???? Bantayan Island Paradise

We've come to an island in the north west of Cebu called Bantayan and we're staying in a small town called Santa Fe. This area is known for absolutely beautiful beaches.

In the video we discuss if we could like the simple life on this island here in the Philippines. As we travel we try to find places around the world we could potentially live, so we're asking ourselves is this could be a place we could return to and live.

During the video we walk around, visiting the beach, as well as the main streets in the town. We also stop to get a Filipino dessert called Halo-Halo.

Later we take you to our accommodations where we're staying on Bantayan called Bella's Guest House, book it here:

Calaguas: A Paradise Waiting to be discovered in Camarines Norte, Bicol!

We were so amazed with the many attractions of the Bicol Region that we decided to head back and explore the other tourists spots in the province. One must-see we were told is Calaguas, an island that holds a promise of raw beauty with its breath-taking views, powdery white sand beaches and crystal clear waters.

The adventure did not disappoint, In fact we were quite at awe on what were saw experienced when we got to and stayed in the island.
