Disney's Animal Kingdom Reopens! | How Pin Trading Works Now, Safari Ride & Characters!

In today's vlog we head to Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom after the park finally reopens! This is our favorite Disney World park so we were definitely excited to see what's new and what it's like now that park safety procedures had changed. We started the day with a look at some of the physical distancing markers, crowd levels and ride wait times in Pandora: World of Avatar. The amount of distancing markers made me feel like they may be increasing the park's capacity at some point. There were way more markers than guests on this day for sure! The crowd levels were very very low which made it super easy to stay distant from other guests in the park. We also took a look at the relaxation zones in the park, Animal Kingdom only has two mask free zones, where as Magic Kingdom has three. Then we saw our first characters in the waterway on a pontoon boat, it was really neat how they're handling the characters in Animal Kindgom! I like it a lot honestly and hope they continue to do things like this in the future. We also ride our first ride of the day, Kilimanjaro Safari! We had a great safari ride and I did feel safe with the barriers they've installed between the rows but the barriers did make it harder to see the animals on the safari. After the safari we found a pin trading location and we talked to the castmember about the new pin trading procedures, it seems like it should be pretty similar as it was in the past, just with less contact. I'm just happy guests are still able to pin trade! It's such a fun activity to do while at the parks. Afterwards we head back to Dinoland USA and take a ride on Triceratops Spin to see what the park's crowd level looks like from a little higher up. We also see some Wilderness Explorers badge locations and give some info about how they're handling that activity now. Then we see some more characters as we head out of the park. I was impressed with how many characters we actually saw today! We saw Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, Chip & Dale, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, Launchpad McQuack and Rafiki from the Lion King! All in all, it was a great day, and I hope this vid will help you if you're planning on visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom in the near future! In today's video we return to Disney's Animal Kingdom for the grand reopening day after being closed due to the pandemic. I show you everything you need to know about coming back to the parks with all of the new health and safety measures and how to ride all of your favorite rides. Kali River Rapids REOPENS at Disney's Animal Kingdom! Lunch at Yak & Yeti, Tigers, Rides & More!
Join us for a splashing fun day at Disney's Animal Kingdom! We visited on the day that Kali River Rapids reopened from a multi month closure, and after the ride closing multiple times we finally got to enjoy getting soaked and enjoying the refreshed theming! We also enjoyed a delicious lunch at my favorite place to eat at Animal Kingdom, Yak & Yeti Restaurant, and dried off with a thrilling ride on Expedition Everest and a little trans-dimensional joy ride on Dinosaur! We also got lucky with seeing water buffalos, tigers and bats on the Maharajah Jungle Trek! A gorgeously sunny, bright day with full on spring break crowds, some ride malfunctions, animals, rides, great good, and all in all a perfect day at Animal Kingdom! What to Expect When Animal Kingdom Attractions ReOpen
What to Expect at our favorite Attractions when Animal Kingdom reopens
Disney is facing challenges of how to open Animal Kingdom’s attractions in a way that they can distance guests and be able to sanitize their high capacity attractions
Right now, we still don’t know how our Animal Kingdom visits will change. Today we’ll talk about so things that Disney may be considering and how attraction availability and wait times are likely to be effected.
If you’re a returning guest to the channel, welcome back. If you’re not a subscriber, why aren’t you? It only takes a second. Why not click the button while I introduce myself.
Rides not operating once AK reopens will most like be attractions that will not be able to comply with guidelines of social distancing and/or attractions that take too long to be sanitized in between guests. Theater shows and probably street entertainment like Wilderness Explorers and dance parties, the affections section animal petting area and the Boneyard play area will most likely be closed due to distancing issues.
Lets get to the list of our favorites attractions starting with the least favorite, well, my least favorite- Kali River Rapids. It’s not for sure that Disney will have this attraction opened. Recently Universal announced that attractions with misting and spraying water won’t open initially so time will tell if Disney will follow suite or come up with a solution.
On Dinosaur, the ride vehicle as you see, seats 12. By seating guests every other row, the attraction could operate at 2/3 usual capacity allowing around 1200 guest/hour. Ride seats and hand rails could be cleaned relatively fast hopefully! And thereby not extending wait times significantly.
Navi River Journey ride vehicles are bench style boats with 2 rows. Right away you can see that it will be 1 party per boat. Not being able to group guests from unfamiliar parties may extend wait times. But cleaning could consist of a quick wipe down of high contact areas. The hourly capacity could be reduced to around ½ the usual hourly number of guests at around 1200.
KS has an hourly capacity of 3000, accommodating more guests than any other AK attraction. Ride vehicles are bench style seats with 9 rows, seating 4 people. Trucks could be wiped down quickly and even if the trucks can carry only hold their usual number of guests, it would still have a capacity close to 1500. Not bad.
Expedition Everest is a very popular attraction and one of the best coasters in Disney World. It has an avg hourly guest capacity of 1930. With every other row seating required, the hourly capacity instantly drops to around 1800. Cleansing of seats, hand rails and shoulder restraints could greatly reduce these numbers however. So Disney may turn to using a Virtual Queue system over the MDE app. This would Limiting the number of guests that would be able to book a ride during a given time frame. Reservations would be a requirement!
For the most popular attraction, FOP,, Disney will almost certainly need to use the vitual queue system. The ride accommodates an avg of 1300 guests hourly. Waits for Fop of a typical day are around 2 plus hours. Using a virtual queue will be a way that Disney can keep waits manageable. The main issue will be the amount of time needed to clean ride vehicles before loading guests.
We will have to see how all this plays out of courses, but these ideas on how the park attractions may change will be helpful in planning your next trip.

We return to one of our favorite places Disney's Animal Kingdom. Disney World is starting to open all the parks at a lower capacity. Is the magic still there? The answer is YES! There are new safety measures all throughout the park. This includes temperature screening upon arrival, parking in ever other spaces, six feet markers, masks are required, mobile ordering, hand washing station and hand sanitizer everywhere. The long-awaited reopening of Rafiki’s Planet Watch at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is finally here! ~Hop~ along with us as we visit the all-new Animation Experience, the Affection Station and more.
Open your eyes to the world around you and ~leap~ aboard the Wildlife Express train to Conservation Station (0:24)! Once inside, guests may visit The Animation Experience (1:09) to learn how to draw beloved Disney•Pixar characters, or visit the insect exhibits to see some creepy crawlers (3:22). We couldn’t ~froget~ to give some love to the adorable animals at the outdoor petting zoo at Affection Section … our personal favorites are the donkeys (2:18)! Once you’re done, make sure to check out the gift shop and pick up some special merchandise from “The Lion King.” This is the perfect experience for the entire Frog Family!
