How To Walk Better | Take The Distractions Away And Focus!

Learning how to walk is a natural locomotion. However, as we get distracted and unaware of what our bodies are doing, we forget how to walk effectively. In this video we outlined several tips to help you walk better and improve your posture. Using both your glutes and calf muscles are a major part of walking more effectively.

We demonstrate proper heel and toe strike while walking. If your feet turn out there is no big toe pressure or push off and it is harder to contract the gluteal muscles. Distractions such as looking down at our cell phone can cause our body to shift in ways that we aren't use to. Therefore, creating poor posture and bad habits.

Traveling by foot, like hiking, is great exercise and even better if you focus on these muscle groups. Glute activation exercises and calf raises will help train your body to walk better.

To walk correctly we need less distractions and more focus. Training the gluteal and calf muscles to do some work is a good start! Treat each step as a rep and walking can become a glute and calf workout.
