The Trevi Fountain: 5 Things You Didn't Know

Video by Jinwen Chen & Bojan Tubin
Editing by Sean P Finelli @SeanPFinelli

Hi, everyone.

I'm Bojan from The Roman Guy.

Today, we're going to teach you how to use the buses in Rome.

This is our latest in the series of Roma How To videos.

Now, in any foreign country, the transportation system can get pretty complicated, but today, we're going to show you how to conquer the buses of Rome.

We recommend carrying a ticket with you while in Rome.

You never know when you're going to need one and actually, it's really hard to find one on the bus.

You usually get them at a Tabacchi place.

Now let me show you how to actually buy one.

Buonasera.

Buonasera.

Un biglietto del autobus per favore. Quant'e?

Grazie lei.

When traveling around Rome, it's important that you know where you are, where you're going, and which bus number you're supposed to take.

We're standing here on the bus stop in Piazza Venezia.

The Italian word for bus stop is fermata.

You'll read the fermata on top of the boards and also the name of that bus stop.

In this case, Piazza Venezia.

After that, it's important to choose which bus to take.

Now, above the bus number, you'll always see a different letter, X meaning Express.

Watch out, this bus doesn't stop at every single stop.

Night bus is marked with the letter N and the ones you'll usually be looking for are the buses with the letter U, meaning urban.

Our destination, in this case, is Piazza Navona.

Now, usually on these bus stops, you'll not see the name Piazza Navona on the board, which means we need to look for the nearest stop available.

This is when your map will come in handy.

To get to Piazza Navona, we need to get off at Corso Vittorio Emanuele, which means, looking at your board in front of you, we're looking for the bus number 64.

It's also important to notice that the first and the last stops are what's known as the Capolinea meaning the beginning and the end of your course.

In order to get to Piazza Navona from Piazza Venezia, you'll have to take the bus number 64, heading into the direction of Stazione St. Pietro.

Now that you're on the bus and the crowd is finally cleared out, you got to use your tickets.

You have the arrow pointing out the place where you need to insert it into the machine.

Check it out. That's it, validated.

Everyone, we've reached our destination, the beautiful Piazza Navona.

Now, you can admire Bernini's Four River Fountain.

We hope this was helpful and make sure you check out our other Rome How To videos.

Goodbye for now

How to use the metro in Rome, how to use public transport in Rome to see major attractions, top tourist attractions in Rome. How to buy a metro ticket in Rome Places to visit in Rome, must see sites in Rome
I am referring to the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps or piazza di Spagna, the Fontana di Trevi (or Trevi fountain), the Pantheon, and Piazza Navona - none of which ever go out of style! I have been to those places countless times during the day, evening or late at night and they just create such a nice background for the story of anyone’s life!

I understand that many people can use maps, even google maps on their phones, and get around, whereas others prefer to be in a tour group, with a guide, that takes you to such tourist sites and explains the history. What about all the people that are caught in the middle? I mean those who don’t want to carry their phone or are uncomfortable with using maps, and at the same time, want to do these tours on their own, without a big or slow group? I made this video thinking of those people, who just need some confidence and motivation to do this on their own, or alone, but with their partner. That’s why I explained how to use the Metro in Rome,Italy how purchase a Metro ticket, instructions on which steps to take, which Metro lines to use, and how you should manage your time (as in, the distances, on foot, from one site to the next). I provide step-by-step instructions to get to these sites and which streets and alleys to turn to in order to get there

Rome,Italy offers so much; if not culturally or historically with all the archeological sites, an amazing place to take photos, look great and create the most amazing memories. If you like sacred art there are plenty of churches and museums that hold it, not to mention the vicinity to the Vatican and the art you find there. This video answers questions like:

How is walking in Rome? Rome walking tour.Sites to visit while in Rome, Tourist attractions in Rome,Things to do in Rome, how to use buses in Rome, how to use metro in Rome

If you plan on moving or visiting Italy, you should watch this video. Living in Italy as a foreigner is a journey. Moving to Italy was a whole new experience for me. The many hidden gems and secrets, besides the food and the fabulous weather make Italy and its famous cities like Florence, Venice, Milan, Turin, Naples, Palermo, Catania, Bari, Lecce, Matera, Cagliari, Rimini, Siena, Bolgheri, Pisa, Parma, Salerno, Amalfi, Positano, Capri, Scalea, Tropea, Otranto and others, as well as the Rome surrounding towns, to be as attractive as ever. I am a Kenyan and an African living in Italy, which has its pros and cons, or advantages and disadvantages.

Watch this video to know what to look for in terms of a better experience, but also helpful for travelers coming from any other non-EU countries

When in Rome Take a Bus Tour

When in Rome, we decided to take a bus tour to explore the best attractions Rome has to offer! The Greenline Tours Hop on Hop off bus was available at the Rome Terminal Station and it costs only €22 per person and it has 8 stops. We got to visit the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Vatican City, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Pantheon. Due to a lot of closed off streets, we did a lot of walking to get to our destinations. I do recommend wear very comfortable shoes and drink a lot of water. I do recommend purchasing the entrance to some attractions online to avoid lines. Enjoy!
