HOW TO TRAVEL THE WORLD WITH ALMOST NO MONEY WHILE BUILDING YOUR RESUME (with Nadine Sykora)

Learn how to travel for (close to) free without feeling like you aren't building your long-term career, earning potential, reputation, or resume with the travel blogging super star, Nadine Sykora, a.k.a. Hey Nadine.
Nadine's YouTube:

It just goes to show you what some hustle, belief, and hope can do. I showed up to the Travel & Adventure Show Expo thinking it'd be great if I could meet and interview her but realizing that it may not be possible and being okay with that. She was fine to interview me and I was the only one who even thought to ask in line.
It also shows you how important the idea of it can't hurt ask works because on top of this, I asked if one of the people who worked there could let me use the really expensive high production camera instead of my tiny one and she actually said yes and said she'd feature the video too on their site since they were looking for more content. Wahoo! Win-win-win for everyone.

Travel Hacking 101

Over the past 2 years I've had the chance to dive into the world of travel hacking and have collected over 300,000 points with very little effort! These points have allowed me to fly all over for free or next to nothing so in this video I want to show you how you can do it to and start your travel journey!

Hacking Travel: Seeing the World When You Suck at Money

Hey, you! Yep, YOU. Do you want to travel? See the world? Guess what? It's not impossible. It's actually very possible, and very doable. In this video I offer advice to those yearning to manifest their wanderlust into actual travel. It certainly can be expensive, but if you do a bit of research you'll find that it's quite easy to find great deals on airfare, lodging, and whole packages. I break it down into four basic points:

1. Have a job at which you're well-compensated. Minimum wage jobs are everywhere and so easy to come by, but if you have or can score a job that pays you a livable wage (or salary), it's that much easier to earn surplus cash which you can save and put aside for traveling expenses.

2. Know which websites and airlines offer the cheapest rates for airfare. As far as international travel, Norwegian Air is the LCC, or Leading Cost Carrier for airfare. This means it offers the cheapest rates for international flights. Websites such as fly.com and skyscanner.com are two of my favorites to utilize. They both search through countless airlines to find you the cheapest way to your destination.

3. Save, save, and save some more. If you're able to, set aside a little cash every day, every week, or from every paycheck to go towards your next planned trip. I use a bank called Simple which allows me to automatically separate money each day into a travel fund. This, for me personally, is much more convenient than having to manually separate money into a savings account. Make sure to exercise self-control and not touch this money. :-)

4. Know where you can find whole-package deals! These include the cost of airfare and lodging, as well as taxes. Travel Pirates is my personal favorite! Also, something I neglected to mention in the video is to be on the lookout for error fares (unusually low-cost airfare that doesn't last long) and airfare sales. They're both real things. Note that if you get your hands on an error fare, it is wise NOT to call the airline to confirm anything until everything is already booked. The reason it is called an 'error' fare is because it is typically accidental...so don't ask any questions, and take full advantage while you can.

I'm advising you as someone who could never pinch a penny to save his life. I don't come from money and have only just begun to save about a year ago. So this is all very feasible and attainable if you just know where to look. So many people have this misconception that traveling will leave you broke, or is far too expensive, or is only for the rich. But those things are purely myth. Also, while they're a good concept, I advise against credit cards that allow you to earn miles as you spend. They often require you to have exemplary credit to open a line, and the catch is that you're most likely spending more money than necessary to earn 'free' miles. If you have crappy credit like I do, there are far better options available to you.

I realized after editing this video that I didn't include any tips for finding reasonable accommodation (hotels/lodging). That was my mistake, and my next video will be dedicated purely to that, as it's also as simple!

Thanks for bearing with me for ten minutes! I've got to get more concise in my video recording. Working on that. In the meantime, feel free to like, subscribe, and comment with any questions, concerns, and input/advice of your own! More travel hacking videos to come in the future, as well as vlogs of my excursions abroad. Happy traveling!
