Aside from that, public transportation is limited, so you may need to take a taxi from time to time. Backpacking on a budget in Dubai can be challenging.
This is not a coincidence. Sheikh Mohamed has a clear goal: to make Dubai the world's leading luxury tourism destination.
While it is true that spending money to enjoy fancy Dubai is necessary, there are numerous free activities and ways to save money.
A seven-day trip to Dubai costs $1,498 on average for a single traveler, $2,690 for a couple, and $5,044 for a family of four.
The cost of a hotel night in Dubai ranges from $35 to $107, with an average of $46. Most vacation rentals cost between $210 and $530 per night for the entire house.
For economy flights to Dubai International Airport (DXB), the average global flight cost is $722 to $1,105 per person. First class costs between $2,266 and $3,467.
Budget $26 to $53 per person per day for transportation and dining at local restaurants, depending on your activities.

Things to do in Dubai for Cheap or Free - Budget Activities
There's tons of things to do in Dubai, but you're probably on a budget, so you're looking for ideas on activities that are cheap or free, right?
Good news - you don't have too much to have fun in Dubai (and Abu Dhabi). First, we recommend walking around the Dubai Malls, especially just to see the grandeur, and stick around for the light and water show at the Burj Khalifa, tallest building in the world.
Dune smashing is the top activity right now in Dubai in 2019, so we had to include that in our travel vlog. It'll cost you about $30 on average, and that was with pickup at our hotel.
Lastly, go ahead and rent a car for $30 and head to Abu Dhabi - you've got to see the Grand Mosque and the Emirates Palace, both beautiful structures that will leave you in awe.
