What to do at a German Christmas market? Accompany us to Cologne, Lübeck, and Berlin!

German Christmas markets are world-renowned. We show you what to eat, buy, and try when you visit one. In spite of the coronavirus pandemic, some of Germany’s most beautiful Christmas will be open for business in 2021. We’ve travelled for you to Cologne, Lübeck, and Berlin to sample bratwurst, mulled wine, and marzipan. We also picked up some Christmas tree decorations from the Erzgebirge mountains, took a spin on the ice rink and Ferris wheel, met Father Christmas and – most importantly – captured the festive atmosphere.
For each market, we’ve got three ‘not to be missed’ tips.

00:00 Intro
01:15 Cologne: Christmas market at Cologne Cathedral
03:20 What to eat
03:55 Specials: kissing under the misteltoe, buying a lovelock
05:20 3 must-do's
05:40 Lübeck: Christmas market in the Old Town
08:05 Marzipan from Niederegger
09:39 3 must-do's
09:59 Berlin: Christmas market at the City Hall

Beware of THIS in New Zealand!

Did you expect this in New Zealand? When you come to New Zealand, you'll be shocked to see gangs. Gangs in New Zealand are so unafraid of the Police that they ride obnoxiously loud motorcycles so you can hear them a mile away.

They even wear a uniform which includes a gang patch, so you know which gang they're from.

This is how open and obvious organised crime is in New Zealand. And for visitors like my wife, it's shocking.

If you stay away from them, they won't bug ya. But the reality is gangs are known for the drug trade, murder, theft, violence against women, and the list goes on.

There are numerous gangs in New Zealand, of varying criminality, organisation and ethnicity, including outlaw motorcycle gangs, street gangs and ethnically based gangs. A chapter of the Hells Angels motorcycle club was formed in Auckland in 1961, the first Hells Angels chapter outside the US.

Soon after, the Mongrel Mob formed in Hastings and Wellington, developing into a predominantly Māori and Pacific Islander gang and having the largest membership in the country.

Through the 1960s and 1970s, other outlaw motorcycle clubs and ethnically based gangs formed, including another predominantly Māori gang, Black Power (not related to the African-American movement), which grew to rival the Mongrel Mob. from Wikipedia.

Germany vs. India: Sustainable Traveling | How to move eco-friendly in big cities

In the first part of our series on sustainable traveling, our Indian colleague Swati Mishra lets you in on how to get around Berlin sustainably. Public transport in the German capital is quite extensive: There’s a wide public transport network that includes the S-Bahn (overground), U-Bahn (underground), Tram and Bus lines. But there are also other ways to get around the city: e-scooters, car-sharing, cycling, or even just walking – these are all good options in Berlin.
Swati also explores how India and Germany can learn from each other to make traveling more environmentally friendly. What can we do to improve the air in our cities, and what can we do to stop climate change?
Let us know your ideas and opinions in the comments!
This video is a cooperation with @dwhindi (DW Hindi), and we’re glad to be able to share it with you! ????
