Uncle Rikuro delicious Cheesecakes in Japan - watch how the jiggly cheesecakes are made

Jiggly Cheesecakes are a must eat when visiting Osaka in Japan. These cheescakes, made at Rikuro Ojisan no Mise (Uncle Rikuro’s) Cheescakes, are baked in-house meaning they are baked at the very shop where you buy them. You can get them hot straight out of the oven. The cheesecakes taste more like sponge-cakes - there is very little cheese taste. BUT .... they are super delicious. They are very soft and spongy and great with a cup of coffee or tea. There are always queues at the counter and the Japanese can't get enough of Uncle Rikuro's cheesecakes. The cheesecakes sell like hotcakes!!!!

At the 3:26 minute mark of this video the seller says Tadaima, cheese cake yakiagarimashita. Rikuro ojisan no yakitate fuwafuwa no cheese cake ikaga de shouka that means just now, cheese cakes are baked. Rikuro ojisan's fresh off the oven, fluffy cheese cake, please try this.

If you visit this cheesecake shop try to spend some time watching them make and bake the cheesecakes. Then watch as they come out of the oven piping-hot and sold direct to the public before they have a chance to cool down.

The shops are famous for ringing the bell when the cakes come out of the oven - it's their way of saying come and get it!!. I have included the bell-ringing in my video - keep an ear out for it.

Test Kitchen: Japanese Cheesecake

Your customers will love the unexpected fluffy texture of a Japanese cheesecake, as demonstrated by Chef @apdeanda . She uses Anchor Cream Cheese from New Zealand to create an extra smooth, rich batter and finishes the cheesecake with strawberries, caramel and a brown sugar and wafer cookie crumble.

Uncle Tetsu's Jiggly Japanese Cheesecake Is Now In Times Square | Line Around The Block

Uncle Tetsu was born in Japan in 1985 and became famous for selling jiggly cheesecakes with a happy little chef branded into the top. Its cheesecakes contain most of the same ingredients as a New York cheesecake — flour, eggs, cream cheese — but instead of a dense, creamy texture, Uncle Tetsu's cheesecakes are light, airy, and have a distinct jiggle.
The New York storefront that opened in the summer of 2019 is the first time Uncle Tetsu has ventured into the US East Coast. Insider stopped by the bakery to see what the international hype is all about.

Uncle Tetsu's Jiggly Japanese Cheesecake Is Now In Times Square | Line Around The Block

Soft and Fluffy Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecake

Located inside Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo, Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecake has become an international phenomenon since its debut in 1985. Made-from-scratch using only the highest quality ingredients, the cheesecakes combines the richness of American cheesecakes with the lightness of French souffles—soft and fluffy, not too sweet with more of a cream cheese flavor.

Uncle Tetsu's Japanese Cheesecake - Baking Technique (Part 3/4)

This is the first North American outpost of the highly acclaimed Japanese dessert chain Uncle Tetsu. Located in Toronto, the store
commands long lineups for its light and fluffy Japanese cheesecakes. This video captures the process that is carried out to make the fluffy cheesecakes. The shop has three small ovens, enough to make only a dozen cheesecake at a time.

Uncle Tetsu's website sums it up well: the Japanese cheesecake has an elegant flavor of a unique soft and melting texture with reduced sweetness. The freshness and exquisite flavors are a result of the use of high quality butter produced in Japan and cream cheese produced in Australia.

“Make, sell, make, sell,” says Tetsushi Mizokami, 67, the entrepreneur behind Toronto’s latest obsession, which began in Fukuoka, Japan, in 1990. During a rare Toronto visit, he’s explaining how his confection, are made, then sold immediately, so they don’t ever become stale. “It’s more better that way.”

It also helps explain the hordes who have been waiting outside Mizokami’s first North American location at 598 Bay St., often for more than two hours, for a six-inch cake ($8).

If you are in the search for the best Japanese cheesecake, Uncle Tetsu is worth a visit!

On the quest for the fluffiest Japanese cheesecake in Osaka, Shizuka heads to the Rikuro Ojisan no Mise (Uncle Rikuro’s Shop) main store in Namba, Osaka.

Famous for their jiggly cheesecakes, which are made in-house 12 at a time, Uncle Rikuro cheesecake can be enjoyed in 3 ways: freshly-baked, chilled in the fridge, or heated in the microwave. Their cheesecakes are prepared from opening to closing so that customers can try it fresh at any time of the day.

What makes this Japanese cheesecake so fluffy? The secret is in beating the eggs and having the right oven. Uncle Rikuro cheesecake is also made with carefully-selected eggs and fresh milk that make the texture of the jiggly cheesecake so airy and light. Danish cream cheese is imported specially for this cake, imparting a mild flavor that everyone will enjoy; and the sun dried raisins that line the circumference of the cheesecake are soaked in syrup, adding another element of surprise to the classic jiggly cheesecake.
