50+ Scams to Avoid in Dominican Republic Vacation and DR Living tips

In this documentary, I interview a number of Tourists and Expats in the Sosua Cabarete area of the Dominican Republic in regards to what scams they wish to warn others about.

To be a victim of a scam completely sours the visitor's view about his/her vacation in DR or expat life, in an otherwise beautiful country with the culture and many good people. With modern communication, the bad experiences get spread quickly around the planet, something every country should take seriously if they wish to grow a healthy economy.

So by ensuring that all scammers are out-smartened by the visitors, then the money will hopefully stay or go to where it should.

In this video, you'll learn tips about avoiding becoming a scam victim to Dom Rep Immigration, police, beach hustlers, beggars, companions, tour guides to realtors, constructors, lawyers, hospitals, accidents, credit cards, taxi transportation and more...

Have a smart, safe, and fun vacation! Brgds Mr.T

Best Retirement Income Strategy For Expats Living In The Dominican Republic

What is the best way for retired Americans, Canadians and Europeans to earn retirement dollars while they live the life the laid back life on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. The team meets with Mr T of the Educated Traveler channel to discuss the best income strategy to either pay for or supplement your retirement nest egg. Mr T has tried pretty much everything in his time on the island and is pretty confident he has a plan that will work for most expats.

Like our DRescapes team, Mr T makes it his mission to tell his viewers the pros and the cons of moving to and living in the Dominican Republic. Like us, he prefers to live on the North Coast and says if he was rich he would probably live in Cabrera away from the throngs of tourists. Shhhh...don't let the secret out, but it actually it can be less expensive to live well in Cabrera for even less than the cost of living in Sosua and Cabarete.

If you would like to check out the North Coast for yourself, join us on one of our DR Escapes Discovery Tours where we will help you see all the towns favored by expats and even help you meet other expats that made the move before you.

For many good reasons, the Dominican Republic is an attractive country to invest in, when you want a new home. There are plenty of options to choose from: There's a beachfront property, country-style living, a cozy condominium, or a villa in a quiet residential community.

Questions investors often have are: what kind of areas or communities should I choose to live in? Should I build or should you buy?

In this video, we'll talk with 4 expats who have invested in a home on the north coast. We'll hear about purchasing a countryside villa, a villa in a residential community, a condominium, and from someone who's constructing a home - Here we go...

Living Abroad in the Dominican Republic as an American | THE EXPAT TAG! [CC]

What is it like living in the Dominican Republic as an American? I moved to the DR from the United States as a single female and wanted to make a video answering the expat tag questions after one year of being abroad. I am so interested in expat life in other countries, and am now documenting my own time in the Dominican Republic! Life abroad and moving overseas is an experience full of ups and downs, and I would love to hear about your own adventures as well!

I got these questions from both:

Charlotte Ryan

Wine and Rum

If this is the first video of mine you're watching: Hi! My name is Mills and I moved from New York to the Dominican Republic in July 2017! I just started this channel to document my experiences living abroad and as an expat overseas, and would love for you to subscribe to follow my journey!

The COST OF LIVING in Santo Domingo and Boca Chica Beach, Dominican Republic

What is the cost of living in the Santo Domingo and Boca Chica Beach, Dominican Republic? What can $20 dollars get you in the Dominican Republic? The cost of living is on the rise, but it's still cheaper than living in the United States.

The Dominican Republic is known for its white-sand beaches and warm Caribbean waters. While visiting Santo Domingo the capital of Dominican Republic I set out to explore and to find out how far would $20 USD take me while touring the island. The Dominican Republic has always been a hotspot for tourists from all around the world, because of the cost of living and the friendliness of the Dominican people.

Budget Friendly Dominican Republic For Ideal Caribbean Retirement

How can Americans, Canadians and Europeans stretch their retirement dollars to live like royalty on a fixed income. The team meets with Mr T of the Educated Traveler channel to explore what it costs to live the good life on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, even on US Social Security or Canadian CCP/OAS.

Like our DRescapes team, Mr T makes it his mission to tell his viewers the pros and the cons of moving to and living in the Dominican Republic. Like us, he prefers to live on the North Coast and says if he was rich he would probably live in Cabrera away from the throngs of tourists. Shhhh...don't let the secret out, but it actually can be less expensive to live well in Cabrera for even less than the cost of living in Sosua and Cabarete.

If you would like to check out the North Coast for yourself, join us on one of our DR Escapes Discovery Tours where we will help you see all the towns favored by expats and even help you meet other expats that made the move before you.

5 things I DON’T like about living in the Dominican Republic...

Hey! I've been getting some questions about what I DON'T like about living in the Dominican Republic, so I figured I would make a list of my top 5 things I hate since I've gotten some questions about that. This is not a hate video or anything like that, but like everywhere, thre are definitely pros and cons of living here. For me, there are more pros, but not everything is perfect. I want to be transparent on my channel and show everyone the good (and bad) of living abroad.
If you are considering a move to the DR, maybe this will help you out a bit. Everyone has likes and dislikes, but these are common complaints I even hear from Dominicans. I have adapted to all of the things I list, so while they still definitely annoy me, they are not unexpected haha.

What are some of the things you dislike about where you are living? Let me know!

Cleveland Ohio Expat Makes The Most Out Of His New Life In Cabrera Dominican Republic

One of the best strategies for getting the most out of your new expat life in the Caribbean is to get involved in your community. The team interviews one of our newer expats to learn the steps he has taken to fit into the Cabrera Dominican Republic community.

Will has experience as a renter, moved on to now own a stunning oceanview condo, and is looking forward to possibly building a custom new home on some oceanview land in the future.

It is exciting and educational to move to a new country. Here on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic it is easier since expats are welcomed into the community with open arms.

If you would like to discover what expat life in the Caribbean would be like for yourself, take advantage of one of our Discovery Tours. We will guide you to see the popular North Coast towns, meet more expats, and see some of the bargain oceanview properties on our 3 to 5 day tours.
