After arrival at Hong Kong International airport (HKG) you will need to pass through immigration. You will need to fill out an immigration card which you will hand over to the immigration officials at the Hong Kong Airport. After you have passed the immigration you can pick up your pre-ordered Octopus card and sim-card from Klook. To get into Hong Kong City you can go by train (MTR) from the Airport MTR station, busses or a taxi. The bus A21 from Hong Kong Airport will bring you close to the main budget hotels in Hong Kong. How to transit at Hong Kong Airport

This video shows you how to transfer between flights at Hong Kong Airport. Hong Kong Airport is the hub of Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Express and Hong Kong Airlines. If your flight into Hong Kong is under the same booking as the onward flight, you will have received boarding passes for both flights when you first check in. As a result, you can go straight to a transfer point after getting off the plane.

Before you land, it is best to plan ahead by checking which gate your plane will park at after landing in Hong Kong, and the gate used by your onward flight.

Hong Kong Airport is huge, but transfer points are conveniently provided in all concourses. In most cases, you should follow the signs and go through the closest transfer point you can find.

However, if your onward flight uses a gate that is very far away or even in another concourse, you will usually have to take to Automated People Mover. The APM serves the Midfield Concourse and the West and East Halls of the Main Concourse. You can only take the APM to the East Hall when you are on the Arrivals Level and board it there when you are back on the Departures Level. Therefore as a rule of thumb, you should take the APM and get as close as possible to the gate of your next flight before using a transfer point, if the gate is to your east. Otherwise, you should use the transfer point first.

If your plane parked at the North Satellite Concourse and you have to board your onward flight at another concourse, you should take the bus back to the Main Concourse before using the first transfer point you find.

Once you have reached your transfer point, simply get in line, take your passport and boarding pass out for inspection, clear security, take an escalator back up to the Departures level and you’re home free! If there is still time, you can browse the shops, get something to eat or drink or use the lounge before boarding your next flight.

Please also be aware that only a few transfer points are open 24 hours. If you land in Hong Kong very late at night, you may not be able to use the closest transfer point after getting off the plane. For your information, the transfer point by Transfer Desks E2, W1 and M1 (in the Midfield Concourse) are always open.

Going by past experience, I will recommend having at least an hour and a half between flights so as to have ample time to clear security and enjoy the facilities of the airport.

Tips for Transit in Hong Kong International Airport 2.0 | Explore with DD

This video brings you tips for Transit at Hong Kong airport. If Hong Kong is not your destination, you will need to change plane at the airport. First let me to you some information about Hong Kong International airport. Hong Kong airport has two terminals T1 and T2. Terminal T1 is used by major international airlines including Cathey pacific, Cathey Dragon, Singapore airlines, British Airways, Japan airlines, Thai airways, United airlines, Air India and Air Canada, Air Newzealand, American airlines, China airlines and most of major airlines. Terminal T2 is used by lost cost carriers like Jet airways, Air Asia, Jet Star, Bangkok Airways and many more.
Check the link below:

This video is to guide you how to transit at the HK airport
As soon as you get out of your plane, you will find air-hostesses standing on the exit with the flight number board of the connecting flights. First check with them, if any of air-hostesses belong to your flight, follow accordingly. Otherwise, look for sign boards. You will find signboards with IMMIGRATION or TRANSIT. Follow TRANSIT sign for taking your next flight. Keep following the TRANSIT sign. You will find the security check in-between. Complete the security check and take escalator to go to upper floor, if needed. Here, find a display board in the departure hall. Locate your flight number, its gate number and terminal also. In T1, The gate numbers are 1-40, 40-80, 201-230, 501-520. The gate numbers are written everywhere clearly and directions to reach there. There is a shuttle train with two stops: one stop for gates 40-80 and other for gates 201-230.
For gates 501-520 the shuttle bus will take to the plane standing for boarding in the North Satellite Concourse. If you need to go to terminal T2, its connected with T1 by central excess way and you can walk easily in 2 minutes between the terminals. Terminal T2 is close to gate numbers 1-20. If you do not have boarding pass for your connecting flights, find service counter for your airline and get your boarding pass.
