HONDA CB500X 10,000 km REVIEW and OFF-ROAD UPGRADES

My Honda CB500X is now about a year old and we've clocked up a very respectable 10,000km of wandering around this end of Africa. Here's a little summary of some accessories I've fitted and some experiences acquired along the way which may be of interest to anyone else looking at getting a 500X themselves.

HONDA CB500X 10,000km Review #cb500x #adventurebike

A sneak preview of the 10,000km review coming out later this week ????

Detailed Review Of My Honda CB500X aka The Donkey

Review of my 2018 Honda CB500X as well as all the mods and accessories that I've added to the bike.

Overall I think the CB500X is a good beginner bike but the lack of power really limits it on the highway. You can hit a top speed of around 150KM/H but not with the bike fully loaded. The bike is most comfortable cruising at around 80 - 110 km/h and even then you don't have a lot of power to pass anyone.

If you're the type of rider who like to ride at a slower pace and want a comfortable small bike with great fuel economy then the CB500X could be a good choice for you. If you are the type of rider who likes actual excitement when riding a motorcycle and want the power to pass other drivers on the highway then don't get the CB500X.

Mod List:

Barkbusters
Givi crash bars
Amazon foglights
Radiator guard
Clear turn signals
Palmer Products Windshield Bracket
Amazon GPS bar
Quadlock iPhone mount
Rec Mounts camera mount
Ride It shorty levers
Seat Concepts saddle
SW-Motech EVO footpegs
Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex Boots (that I can't use! ????)
Powerbronze rear hugger
Pipe Werx GP3 Race Exhaust (love this thing! ????)
Givi Outback side cases
Nanuk 930 top case

Honda CB500X 1-year review

Hello, fellow riders ! In this video I talk about my Honda CB500X, which I have owned for about a year, with three major points I wish Honda had done better.
I still love the bike and totally recommend it to all riders that aim to use it like I do, meaning on and off road solo adventures, or even just for commuting every day for example.

Do I Still Love the Honda CB500X

At 10,000 miles I tried to answer the question “Is this Honda CB500X Capable of Long Distance Travel” this being more of a personal question to myself.

Having now reached 20,000 miles whilst travelling on a short 2,000 mile trip through England, France, Belgium and Germany, I was asked to give some further feedback on the bike and its capabilities.

The journey was a solo camping trip, moving day by day to new locations, for which there will be other videos, and I hope you find this one helpful.

If you would like to support the channel please feel free to donate whatever you can afford, it will go towards the cost of producing the videos and every little helps.

If you prefer just Buy me a Coffee, it's what keeps me going through the day!

The thoughts and actions outlined in the video are personal to me and everyone will need to view things from their own perspective.

Should you buy a CB500X?

This video breaks down a few key points if you are looking to gain entry into the ADV market with a CB500X. We also compare it to a similar bike like the KLR 650 and it's big brother - the Africa Twin. Enjoy!

My Epic 5000 Mile Motorcycle Road Trip on a Honda CB500X!

I bought my first motorcycle, a 2018 Honda CB500X and went on a road trip around Western Canada. My route took me from Victoria to Vancouver, up the Sea to Sky Highway to Whistler, east to the Rocky Mountains along the Icefields Parkway into Canmore and Jasper then back through Prince George, Prince Rupert and finally back to Victoria.

Read the full road trip report on my website:

In a future video I will cover my review and full mod list that I've done to the bike such as exhaust, rally raid, top speed, off road capabilities, etc. Overall I'm happy with the CB500X as a beginner bike but I definitely feel that there are some limitations to this bike.

I made another video covering the specifics of the route I took. In case anyone is also planning a road trip through BC, this video might be helpful.

Honda CB500X (2021): 0 - 150 km/h + Top Speed (GPS) Autobahn

Kamera: DJI Osmo Action

ANY OLD BIKE: 2016 Honda CB500X Nick Adams' Motorcycle Review

Not too long ago a 500cc bike was considered a 'big bike'. Nowadays 500s are thought of as 'starter bikes' - something cheap and unthreatening to outgrow. But you never know, Honda's CB500X might be all the bike you really need. Cheap to buy, cheap to run and with plenty of punch and Honda's legendary reliability, do you really need anything more? In this video I borrow my friend Norm's bike for a quick exploratory spin - coming away quite impressed.

New SHOES for my Honda CB500x ???? [S3 - Eps 23]

In this episode I am riding to Umeå in Sweden to get some new tires for my Honda CB500X. It wasn't so easy to find dual purpose tires in this part of Sweden as the shops only sell street tires! Luckily, the Pirelli MT-60 tires didn't take long to order so that's what I went for. Ready to continue my journey North after this!
