The Papal Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican, or simply Saint Peter's Basilica, is a church built in the Renaissance style located in Vatican City, the papal enclave that is within the city of Rome, Italy.

Part of the Vatican Museum -

The Vatican Museums are the public museums of the Vatican City. They display works from the immense collection amassed by the Catholic Church and the papacy throughout the centuries, including several of the most renowned Roman sculptures and most important masterpieces of Renaissance art in the world.

Sistine Chapel -

The Sistine Chapel is a chapel in the Apostolic Palace, in Vatican City and the official residence of the pope. Originally known as the Cappella Magna ('Great Chapel'), the chapel takes its name from Pope Sixtus IV, who had it built between 1473 and 1481. Since that time, the chapel has served as a place of both religious and functionary papal activity. Today, it is the site of the papal conclave, the process by which a new pope is selected. The fame of the Sistine Chapel lies mainly in the frescoes that decorate the interior, most particularly the Sistine Chapel ceiling and The Last Judgment, both by Michelangelo.

In this video, we're going to take a look at the top 10 secrets of the Vatican. We'll learn about the history of the Catholic Church, what the pope does and where the Vatican is located.

If you're curious about the Catholic Church or want to know more about Pope Francis, then this video is for you! By the end of the video, you'll know everything there is to know about the top 10 secrets of the Vatican.
The Vatican City, officially the Vatican City State, is an independent city-state enclaved within Rome, Italy. Established with the Lateran Treaty in 1929, it is distinct from yet under the sovereignty of the Holy See, the jurisdiction of the bishop of Rome, known as the Pope, who is the leader of the Roman Catholic Church worldwide.

The Vatican City, at about 44 hectares (110 acres), is the smallest internationally recognized independent state in the world, both by area and population. Despite its small physical size, it holds an immense spiritual, cultural, and historical significance.

The Vatican is home to some of the world's most priceless art and architecture, collected or commissioned by the Church over centuries. This includes the renowned Sistine Chapel, with its ceiling painted by Michelangelo; St. Peter's Basilica, the world's largest church, a significant site of pilgrimage and liturgical functions; and St. Peter's Square, where thousands gather for the Pope's addresses.

The Vatican Museums showcase a vast collection of artworks and historical artifacts, while the Vatican Library and the Vatican Secret Archives hold a significant collection of historical texts and documents.

The Swiss Guard, recognized for their brightly colored Renaissance-era uniforms, serve as the de facto military of the Vatican, tasked primarily with the Pope's security.

Despite being a city-state, the Vatican maintains diplomatic relations with other countries and actively participates in international organizations. Its economy is supported by the sale of postage stamps, tourist mementos, entry fees for museums, and the sale of publications.

The Vatican is a place where prayers are offered daily, rituals and traditions are strictly adhered to, and where the Pope, as the spiritual leader of the Catholic faith, guides over a billion Roman Catholics worldwide.
