Hiroshima is a city known world-wide for the tragic event that unfolded on August 6th, 1945. But I am here to tell you now, this city is so much more than that.
In today's video, we're spending the entire day exploring the beautiful city of Hiroshima. We dive into the history, as well as the things that make Hiroshima a can't-miss destination for anyone visiting Japan. If you are looking for a video highlighting the best things to do in Hiroshima then this video is for you!
We begin our day grabbing coffee at one of Hiroshima's best coffee spots before heading to the Hiroshima Memorial Museum. After learning & reflecting on the past, we shift our focus to the present with some amazing food in the most popular foodie area of Hiroshima, Okonomimura. After eating some delicious Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki, we walk things off in the Shukkeien Garden before exploring the grounds of Hiroshima Castle. Finally, we end our day by cheering on the Hiroshima Toyo Carp at Mazda Zoom-Zoom Stadium. A Hiroshima Toyo Carp game is a MUST if you're visiting Hiroshima during the summer months!

Japan travel guide to what to do and eat in Miyajima, Hiroshima in a day!
Hiroshima is near the bottom of the main island Honshu and a must visit when coming to Hiroshima is the island Itsukushima, more popularly known as Miyajima. It’s one of Japan’s top 3 scenic sights, most famous for its giant torii gate, which at high tide seems to float on the water.
Miyajima island is also a great place for a day trip from the Kansai region like Kyoto and Osaka but I would recommend staying in Hiroshima for a few days to explore Hiroshima city and another day for Miyajima island.
I started my trip off at Hiroshima station and took a 25 minute train ride to JR Miyajima-guchi station.
From there it’s less than a 5 minute walk to the ferry terminal where you will take a 10 minute ferry ride to go to Miyajima island.

THE MOST MAGICAL ISLAND IN JAPAN | Miyajima Travel Guide
When visiting Hiroshima, it is a MUST to visit the incredible island of Miyajima, known as the 'Island Where God Lives'. From the cute deer who are waiting to welcome you as soon as your arrive, to the delicious traditional restaurants and shops on Omote Sando Street, to the jaw dropping views you get from the top of Mt Misen, there is something for everyone on this beautiful island. Ideally I would recommend staying overnight at a local Ryokan, but a day trip is also a great way to visit, just make sure you leave quite early in the morning if you plan on climbing up and down the mountain. Day Trip To Miyajima Hiroshima In Fall | Japan Itinerary
Hiiiii, I'm back with some more Japan content for you! You all must visit Miyajima in the fall if you get the chance! We did a day trip to this island from Hiroshima Peace Park. One day was definitely not enough, but if you're looking for a beautiful unique experience in Japan, I highly recommend it! You can take a round trip ferry for about ~4000¥ and it'll take about 45 minutes one-way. Highlights of Miyajima are Itsukushima Shrine, momiji manju(snack shaped as maple leaf), and Mt. Misen. We had a one in a lifetime chance during lowtide and were able to walk under Itsukushima Shrine! If you enjoyed this video please share and give it a thumbs up! 2 days in Hiroshima | Day trip to Miyajima Island, Hiking Mt Misen, Food, and Bars
We had a mere 48 hours in Hiroshima and we fell in love with the city pretty much immediately. The food was delicious, but more importantly, the people were some of the nicest we met on this entire trip. We had front row seats to watching an expert okonomiyaki chef, visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial park and museum, ate Hiroshima style tsukemen, drank locally-made sake and more. We even took a day trip to Miyajima island, hiked the gorgeous Mt. Misen, and ate some more. I really can't recommend this city enough and will be coming back here again someday soon.

Hiroshima and Miyajima day trip from Kyoto | Japan vlog #8
During this Japan trip, we did a lot of day trips that were really far away, but thankfully with the speed and efficiency of shinkansens, the commute isn't so bad and is actually quite comfortable. In this vlog, we take our last far day trip east to Hiroshima to visit the museum and bomb site, as well as Miyajima Island to feed deer and visit the torii gate at the Itsukushima Shrine.

Day Trip to Miyajima Island in spring | Cherry blossoms, Mt. Misen, Itsukushima Shrine, Food | 宮島
This time, we made a video of our day trip to Miyajima Island. It is a day trip from Hiroshima Station to return by ferry.Starting with the train and ferry ride, we enjoyed a lot of sightseeing including Itsukushima Shrine and O-torii Gate on the sea, five-storied pagoda, Daisho-in Temple and other shrines and temples, autumn leaves and deer in Momijdani, and street food in Miyajima eating such as grilled oysters and sweets.
Transportation and meal expenses are also specified for each and summarized at the end of the video, so I would be happy if you could use it as a guide for your actual trip.
It was filmed in mid-October 2022, just as the autumn leaves in Momijidani were just starting to turn. The O-torii Gate of Itsukushima Shrine is under construction (scheduled to be completed in December 2022), so it looks a little unusual, but I hope you will enjoy it as well.
There is so much more to see and do on Miyajima Island that we cannot introduce all the places to walk around the shrines and temples, eat and drink, and enjoy sweets. I hope you'll make a visit to Miyajima Island, the island of the gods!

Hiroshima & Miyajima | Japan in Summer | Solo Travel Guide
Hiroshima: a city that saw tens of thousands incinerated and grievously scarred, and now houses frog-themed bars. A juncture of misery and mystic jungle mountains, Hiroshima felt appropriate a place as any to conclude the trip.

Visiting Miyajima - Japan Travel Tips
Miyajima & Itsukushima Shrine are one the three great views of Japan! (Nihon Sankei) and can be visited easily from Hiroshima Peace Park, Hiroshima Port, or quickly from Miyajimaguchi (for free using the JR Pass), BUT! Its important to go at Miyajima at the right time! There are 2 issues with Miyajima Travel, 1, the Tide changes radically for 2 unique views of the Shrine and Torii Gate, Low tide you can explore the Torii, High Tide you can see it floating. And 2, it's best to see Miyajima EARLY in the morning, it gets VERY crowded after 10-11am. Happy Travels!

I traveled to Hiroshima and it was better than I expected (Japan travel vlog)
After 4 days in Osaka, we traveled to Hiroshima, Japan & it was not what I expected! Hiroshima is our second destination on our 2-week trip around Japan. Hiroshima is of course known for the devastating happenings in 1945 when it was hit by the atomic bomb, but today Hiroshima is a vibrant city & definitely worth visiting.
During our 3 days in Hiroshima, we visited the Peace Memorial Park and Museum, went on a day trip to Miyajima Island from Hiroshima to see the famous Itsukushima Shrine and loads of wild deer. We also ate delicious food, including okonomiyaki & oysters (for the first time!!).
