The most SPECTACULAR hike in Slovakia - The High Tatras
The High Tatras are absolutely gorgeous and a perfect destination for people seeking a different kind of adventure. Around 80 percent of this SLOVAKIA lies more than 800 meters above sea level, and its crowning glory is the High Tatras, the highest range in the Carpathian Mountains which is the smallest, but most beautiful alpine mountain range in the World.
This video is a sum up of my journey to Kosice, Spis Castle, and finally my hike in the High Tatra Mountains. In this video, I tried to show many small moments of joy I felt during the whole journey. So, immerse yourself in the heart of Slovakia through my cinematic video!

We traveled to Poprad, Slovakia for one reason, to hike in our first national park outside of the United States! This particular hike came with some perks. The beginning of the hike was a chairlift and then a cable car taking us halfway up the mountain which made our ascent an amazing and not so exhausting experience. After cresting the mountain for spectacular views, our descent ended at a beautiful mountain lake with a chalet. The chalet had incredible food and affordable beer. Nothing could make a hike better.

Tatra Mountains: Why You Must Go
Thanks to my French passport I had a shot at getting to Europe for autumn. The first place I wanted to see in 2020 was the Tatra Mountains so I emailed the Polish Tourism Office to see if they would have me over. They said yes! Here's 7 days going up and down this range just in time for the fall colors and the first snows of the year. Oh and no-one was there because of you know what.
Thank you Tatras, just like last time, you've left me wanting more.

The Slovakia You Never Knew Existed (Exploring the High Tatras, one of Europe's mountain gems) ????????
Stretching a mere 50 km across the northern reaches of this European country are the stunning High Tatras, part of the greater Carpathian mountain range. Here, you’ll find quiet alpine towns, adorable chalets, iconic mountain vistas, and some of the finest cuisine in Slovakia. The must-try dish of the region is the signature Bryndzové halušky, which are potato dumplings (similar to gnocchi) covered in a rich cream sauce, topped with bacon & chives).
This area is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream, with a vast web of hiking trains to remote lakes, waterfalls, and summits, and is easily accessible by train from anywhere in Europe. A network of cable cars and chairlifts help you ascend to the region’s greatest heights with relative ease.
I wasn't able to spend a ton of time here, as I visited during a very overcast week in October, but I was able to get a sense of the region through my visits to the small lakeside town of Štrbské Pleso, where I ascended the stunning Predné Solisko peak. There, I enjoyed a short alpine hike for some glorious views of the Tatras, and treated myself to a light lunch of kapustnica (cabbage soup) and a half pint of pilsner.
I definitely plan to return to the Slovakian High Tatras in the future. If you're looking for an inexpensive, readily accessible mountain getaway, I'd encourage you to check out this amazing region of one of Europe's most overlooked countries.

If you like skiing or snowboarding in winter or hiking in summer, High Tatras is the right place for you. You will easily fall in love with beautiful nature, splendid grand hotels and little picturesque villages such as Starý Smokovec or Tatranská Lomnica. The most famous attraction is “Štrbské mountain lake“ where you can get by a cog rail. In summer, you can rent a boat here and in winter the surrounding area is popular for winter sports. From here you can hike to beautiful Popradské pleso which is a magnificent place to be thanks to its lake and numerous trees. If you are not scared of heights, take a cable car to Lomnický peak, the 2nd highest peak of the mountains. When you come in winter, you cannot miss Tatra Ice Dome on Hrebienok, which is full of ice sculptures. We recommend you visit some of the few aqua parks in wintertime, they are filled with thermal waters and they provide many adventures.

Discover the Tatra Mountains ⛰️ Beautiful European nature in 4K
Tatra Mountains, or the Tatras, are the highest range of the Carpathian Mountains and lies along Poland’s border with Slovakia.
The Tatra Mountains rise to the greatest elevation in the entire northern half of Europe, with the 2655-meters Gerlachovsky Stit in Slovakia and the 2499-meters Rysy peak in Poland. The range is 53 km long and takes up 785 square km.
Three distinct parts make up the Tatra Mountains – the High Tatras, the Western Tatras, and the Bielskie Tatras. The High Tatras, with their dramatic vistas, steep peaks, sharp rocks, deep glens, and crystal lakes are the most attractive. At the same time the Western Tatras lower slopes clad in pine forests offer wider horizons and diverse wildlife.

This is the Top Thing you Need to do in Slovakia | Tatras Mountains are INSANE!
We have arrived in the beautiful high Tatras mountains here in Slovakia and it's honestly one of the top things to do here in the country.
We checked into the most insane hotel - the Grand Hotel Kempinksi where we will be spending the weekend at.
Where we stayed: Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras:
After breakfast we headed out on the water by rending out a red boat on the lake to just take it all in with the best views of the lake and mountain.
We then rented out some bikes, cycled out to a Popradské pleso to have some local tomatoe soup.

Ski Resort Tatranská Lomnica Vysoké Tatry - High Tatras Slovakia 4K
The ski resort Tatranská Lomnica is located in the Prešov Region (Slovakia). For skiing and snowboarding, there are 11.8 km of slopes and 0.4 km of ski routes available. 8 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 888 and 2,190 m.
The Tatranská Lomnica ski resort is located in the High Tatras and offers beautiful slopes and the most modern lifts. It is the highest ski resort in Slovakia and includes a 6.5 km long slope from 2196 m down to the base in Tatranská Lomnica. Families, children and beginners will feel at home in Maxiland and on the easy slopes. The Lomnický štít is the second highest mountain in Slovakia (2634 m). A cable car goes up from the ski resort, but there are no slopes leading down from Lomnický štít.

The video was created during the coronavirus lockdown in Slovakia, when almost no one could not travel to High Tatras. When they have locked us up at home and made it impossible to visit Tatras, people can fly over High Tatras at least virtually. The video is 360 ° and with the help of the mouse or the movement of the smarftone you can look in all directions and enjoy the flight as if you were really on the plane.
