Head-Sized GIANT MUSHROOMS!! ???? Pick + Cook 3 Ways - LOCAL FOOD DELICACY!!

???? สวนโสนเห็ดตับเต่า คุณหวาน:

Huge thank you to the Snow Mushroom Farm (สวนโสนเห็ดตับเต่า คุณหวาน) for hosting me. If you’re in Bangkok or anywhere in Thailand, you can order these giant mushrooms to your doorstep:

#Thailand #ThaiFoood #mushrooms

Ayutthaya, Thailand - Just an hour from Bangkok, we had an opportunity to pick, cook, and eat - giant head-sized golden mushrooms! What I immediately liked, is that they do grow the mushrooms and farm them, but they do it in a very natural way, using organic natural methods, and the mushrooms grown naturally in the soil under the trees next to the river.

Hed Dab Dao (เห็ดตับเต่า) - In Thai the mushrooms literally translate to “turtle liver” mushrooms - but I can assure you there’s no turtle and no liver in this video. We debated why they are called turtle liver mushrooms, and eventually we decided - and don’t hold us accountable to this, it’s just our guess - the mushrooms sort of have a liver texture, and they sort of look like a turtle from the top - so Turtle liver mushrooms. I did some research in English, and I believe that they are some type of King bolete mushrooms.

After harvesting some literal head sized golden mushrooms to eat, we then went to cook them. They made three dishes:

“Koy” mushroom salad (ก้อยเห็ดตับเต่า)
Mushrooms with sweet basil (เห็ดตับเต่าผัดโหระพา)
Curry mushrooms (แกงเห็ดตับเต่า)

In order to cook all the mushroom dishes, he first sliced then boiled the mushrooms for about 5 minutes, then set them in cool water. From there, he made the three different Thai mushrooms dishes.

The mushrooms were the highlight, they have an amazing texture, soft and tender, and just perfectly slimy, almost to the point where they melt in your mouth while being hearty and meaty - or livery - at the same time. It was my first time to try King bolete mushrooms (เห็ดตับเต่า) and I loved them!

Thank you for watching this Thai food video, and hope you’re having a fantastic day!

How to Eat TARO STEMS - Full Harvest + Cooking Thai Food! | Organic Farm in Chiang Mai!

Eating and harvesting taro stems in Chiang Mai, Thailand!
???? Thai Strawberry Meal:

CHIANG MAI, THAILAND - Welcome to Chiang Mai. Today we’re visiting Ontai Farm (ออนใต้ฟาร์ม), which is an amazing organic farm in Chiang Mai. We’ll especially be focusing on taro stems, and picking them and cooking them for lunch.

Taro stems are a vegetable I really love and eat whenever I have a chance in Thailand. But today was the first time I’ve ever been able to harvest them and cook them immediately, as fresh as possible. After harvesting the ingredients they made two main dishes - a taro stems salad with a variety of freshly sliced herbs, veggies, and kale. And additionally they made a curry with turmeric and lime juice with the taro stems.

It was a delicious meal at Ontai Farm in Chiang Mai, Thailand and the vegetables and ingredients were incredibly fresh and nutritious. Highly recommended!

Ontai Farm -

DISCLAIMER - Not all taro stems are edible, only certain varieties, so please don’t go out eating any taro looking stem. Make sure it is the edible variety.

Isan & Lao Food!! Mekong River HARVEST & EAT ???? Nakhon Phanom, Thailand

???? How to Eat WATER LILY Stems:
???? T-shirts and caps available now:

NAKHON PHANOM, THAILAND - Welcome to Nakhon Phanom, a province in Thailand on the Mekong River, just across the river from Laos. Today we’re going to the garden to harvest vegetables, and then the local community will prepare for us a fully plant based Isan / Lao food meal! #PlantBased #Thailand #LaoFood

First of all, the natural beauty along the fertile banks of the Mekong River is what stood out to me. The small plots of vegetables were spectacular. I loved the natural scenery and the slow pace of life.

After we harvested some of the fresh vegetables, we headed back to the house at Ban Na Thon Village (บ้านนาถ่อน) where some of the local Aunty’s cooked a variety of plant based Thai / Lao foods. We had an amazing stew of vegetables and yanang leaves, a laap made with mushrooms, and a variety of the local fresh vegetables. Even though this was a special plant based meal they made for me, I do love that even in the typical local diet, a huge variety of vegetables and herbs are consumed.

It was an amazing day and delicious food!

Green Bamboo Curry!! VILLAGE THAI FOOD in Sukhothai, Thailand! ???????? บ้านนาต้นจั่น

???? Street Food Tour in Sukhothai:

Sukhothai - Ban Na Ton Chan (บ้านนาต้นจั่น), Thailand - Welcome to the amazing Ban Na Ton Chan (บ้านนาต้นจั่น) in Sukhothai, Northern Thailand! They have an amazing homestay program where you can arrange to stay and learn about the amazing culture and eat some incredibly delicious local home-cooked food! #Sukhothai #ThaiFood

Sukhothai is the ancient capital of Siam, and so there’s a lot of Thai culture and history here. Along with visiting the historical sites of Sukhothai ( I was very excited to learn more about the culture and especially eat authentic local Sukhothai Thai food.

After we arrived to Ban Na Ton Chan (บ้านนาต้นจั่น), we immediately went to check into our homestay where we were greeted by an amazing local early lunch. Among the spread of food, one of the highlights was barometer earthstar mushroom curry (แกงคั่วหมูเห็ดเผาะ), it was incredibly delicious. We ate, had some local durian, and then took a little rest before preparing the next meal!

Aunty was amazing, she went above and beyond to take care of us, and to cook us local food. In the afternoon we went to gather some fresh ingredients, including bamboo shoots, bitter melon leaves, and pea eggplant. Along with many other dishes, one of the main dishes Aunty cooked was a local style bamboo shoot curry (แกงหน่อไม้) ใบย่านาง), using mainly the fresh herbs and bamboo shoots that we harvested ourselves. She started with juice made from yanang ( leaves, which are common in certain regions of Thailand, often used for a curry broth. She then boiled the bamboo shoots, and added in an assortment of vegetables, mushrooms, herbs, spices, fermented fish sauce, and finally red ant eggs to finish it off. It was extraordinary!

For dinner we had an entire local Sukhothai Thai food feast - including the amazing bamboo shoot curry Aunty prepared, a chili dip made with egg, and an assortment of other delicious Thai food.

It was a learning experience, and so much fun to hang out with Aunty who was so kind and took such great care of us.

Amazing Northern Thai food in Chiang Mai at Krua Lawng Khao (ครัวหลองข้าว)!
???? WATCH: Fruit Smoothie Mountain:

CHIANG MAI, THAILAND - We’re in Chiang Mai and on our way to eat at Krua Lawng Khao (ครัวหลองข้าว), a fantastic northern Thai food restaurant. They serve the full range of homestyle food, but I’m going to show you some of the plant focused dishes you can try. Let’s go eat! #ChiangMai #ThaiFood

Krua Lawng Khao (ครัวหลองข้าว) is located just outside of the Chiang Mai city, in a Mae Rim, within a quiet neighborhood and surrounded by rice paddy fields. They serve a wonderful menu full of classic and homestyle northern Thai food. Although you’ll find everything on their menu, there’s also a lot of healthy options to choose from - dishes that are vegan, predominantly vegetarian, or that can be ordered vegetarian. So we’re going today to eat northern Thai food that’s plant based!

We had a fantastic meal and I especially loved their pounded young jackfruit salad and chiang da leaves.

Diotay's Eatery ( - Welcome to Diotay’s Seafood Eatery, where they have one of the most jaw dropping displays of seafood you can imagine - all the seafood is laid out on ice in the front of the restaurant, from huge fish to giant shells to everything in between. One of the best things is that you can pick and choose whatever seafood you want and you can order it in a variety of different cooking methods and flavors.

We made sure to get some of their best specialties including grouper head sinigang, adobo squid, flaming hot iron marlin, and garlic shrimp. I was lucky enough to have the chance to go into the kitchen and watch some of the action packed cooking that included series wok fires. The cooking skills were incredible. Also, one of my favorite dishes was the local Bacolod styles sinigang, a sour soup in the Philippines. Again, the broth was made from Batwan fruit (garcinia binucao), a special local fruit.

???? Subscribe for NEW VIDEOS:

PATTANI, THAILAND - First of all a huge thank you Bang Dim and his amazing family for inviting us to their home for a once in a lifetime home cooked meal. It was outstanding, a meal I’ll never forget. #IndianFood #MalayFood #Pattani #ปัตตานี

First off, back story:

A few days before, I was with Muhammad from Papa Tagu ( and we stopped by the shop where he buys spices for his Thai Arabian food. We stopped in to say hi partly because the owner of the spice shop, Bang Dim, watches our video - and he’s the King of Spice in Pattani (his spice shop is called Muhammad and Sons: We had a great time, and enjoyed some amazing masala tea. He also gave me the ring! Anyway, Bang Dim is half from Kerala, South India, and half local Pattani Malay. He was born in Pattani (ปัตตานี). At that meeting, he invited us over to his house to make Indian style, but Malay at the same time fish head curry.

A few days later, we headed over to the house. Bang Dim, along with his wife and entire family put on an ultimate display of hospitality and welcome, cooking an unbelievable huge fish head curry. The fish head curry was a combination of South Indian and Malay, using dry spices, curry leaves, and even green sour mango in the curry. It was outstanding, sensational beyond belief. But not only was there fish curry, but there was also an entire Malay and Indian food feast - mainly seafood.

Thank you again to Bang Dim and your entire family for this unforgettable Indian Malay meal in Pattani.

Thank you for watching and hope you’re having a fantastic day!

Backyard Food Paradise!! Farm to Table THAI FOOD in the Rainforest!! | Khao Sok, Thailand

???? Ultimate Fried Chicken Tour in Hat Yai:
???? Rungfah Farm:

Welcome to the stunning Khao Sok National Park in Surat Thani, Thailand! I had the chance to hang out with P’You from Rungfah Farm: His property backs up to the mountains and the lush green rainforest, it’s pristine. And the best thing about P’You is his love and respect for nature, and his organic farm.

To begin with we first went around his farm, some of which is grown, some of which grows wild, and harvested ingredients for lunch. From fruits to vegetables and herbs, Rungfah Farm is full of tropical things to eat - for me it’s a fresh food paradise - and around his farm you can find almost all the ingredients you need for a Thai food feast. On top of that, P’You has amazing knowledge of ingredients, and their uses for cooking and medicinal value. He’s so laid back and so friendly, and he’s part of the reason why visiting Rungfah Farmstay is so much fun.

After walking round the farm for a while, we got started cooking, and the cooked some common Thai dishes, as well as a few jungle survival style dishes - like rice cooked in bamboo over open fires.

Here are the other dishes that P’You and his wife made for us:

Chicken curry
Snake fruit chili dip
Banana blossom tempura
Fried bamboo shoots
Fried melinjo leaves

It was a delicious Thai meal, and for me the best thing about it was that it was cooked with love using natural, local, and ultimately freshly picked ingredients from Rungfah Organic Farm right in the jungle of Khao Sok, Thailand!

Great experience, highly recommended. Thank you to P’You from Rungfah Farm: for hosting me on this day of backyard cooking.

Thank you for watching and hope you’re having a fantastic day!

????Takamaru Fresh Fish Store serves some of Tokyo’s finest fish delicacies. Among their delicacies is monkfish, a very rare fish that is hard to find in Tokyo, even in big fish markets. Monkfish liver (ankimo) is typically considered the tastiest part of the fish and was even listed on CNN’s 2011 list of the World’s 50 Most Delicious Foods. We were fortunate enough to get a taste of this dish, which is not a typical menu item at Takamaru Fresh Fish Store. Monkfish hotpot is a bit more common than monkfish liver, frequently eaten during the winter months in Japan.

Shiitake Mushroom Biryani!! Vegetarian INDIAN FOOD in Singapore - w/ Chef Bjorn Shen!!

???? Singapore Thunder Tea Rice:
????️ GHOST CHILI Available Now: (affiliate link to Amazon)

Chef Bjorn Shen ( - Today I got to hang out with the amazing Chef Bjorn Shen in Singapore from Artichoke and Small’s. He’s an extremely talented Chef, he loves to eat, and he enjoyed eating healthy - sometimes vegan food. Today we’re going to one of his favorite Indian vegetarian restaurants in Singapore, to especially eat their mushroom (mock mutton) biryani!

Gokul - Raas Vegetarian Restaurant ( - Welcome to Little India in Singapore and we’re going to Gokul, where they specialize in vegan Indian food and a selection of Jain dishes on their menu as well. When I think about Indian vegetarian food, I don’t normally think about mock meats, mainly I think about daal, okra, bitter gourd, and other veggies. But Gokul does well including mock meats in their menu, but keeps the taste delicious.

The main dish we came to eat, and one of Bjorn’s favorites is the mock mutton - actually Shiitake Mushroom biryani. It was truly delicious, loaded with flavor - overcompensated with flavor. Highlight recommended, delicious food in Singapore.

Thai Food - Backyard Food Farm! 100 Edible Ingredients Garden in Chiang Rai, Thailand!

Welcome to the ultimate backyard Thai food forest in Chiang Rai, Thailand!
???? $1.52 Thai Buffet:

CHIANG RAI, THAILAND - Today we’re visiting Suan Ban Kan Kin Garden สวนปั๋นกั๋นกิ๋น, one of the ultimate backyard organic food farms in Chiang Rai. I could not believe the diversity of ingredients growing in the backyard in a relatively small area. We’re going to walk around and see the full farm, then we’ll cook some amazing dishes with ingredients we pick fresh.

Gurmar leaves - One of the key ingredients I love in northern Thailand is gurmar leaves, which are delicious and extremely healthy.

Chaya - Another vegetable that Aunty had growing abundantly in the back was chaya, also known as Mexican kale or tree spinach, and in Thai they sometimes call it MSG leaves because they are so tasty on their own and have umami.

Hairy-fruited eggplant - Finally to complete this Thai food farm to table experience, we made an extremely spicy chili dip with hairy fruited eggplant that has a taste somewhere between a tomato and gooseberry with a bit of bitterness. It goes so well together with chilies and garlic to create a powerful plant based chili dip for fresh vegetables.

Extreme Thai Street Food - JACUZZI MEAT PARADISE! | Hat Yai (หาดใหญ่), Thailand

???? Pakistani Thai Food:
???? Goyae Jaogao Restaurant (ร้านก๊ะเหย๊าะ เจ้าเก่า):

Hat Yai (หาดใหญ่), Thailand - Welcome to Hat Yai, in the Songkhla province of Southern Thailand - home to insanely delicious Thai street food, and some of the friendliest, nicest people I’ve met in all of Thailand. Today, we had the special opportunity to eat at Goyae Jaogao Restaurant (ร้านก๊ะเหย๊าะ เจ้าเก่า), a restaurant known locally for its goat curry, beef curry, and cow hoof soup - made in an extreme way. #streetfood #ThaiFood #Thailand

We arrived at 8 am in the morning to watch Aunty as she started cooking. I loved everything about the restaurant and her style as soon as she arrived. You’ll notice there’s not just one giant jacuzzi of boiling curry, not two, but 6 in the front, all bubbling away - with another in the back. The day we went she cooked an entire goat of curry, plus 50 kilos of cow hoofs, another huge amount of beef curry, and finally one of her specialities - beef bone soup with chamuang leaves, or garcinia cowa leaves.

My favorite styles, the best part of her cooking was when she tied the lemongrass like a rope and crumpled the garcinia cowa leaves and chucked them into the massive posts of bubbling curry. Amazing!

We ordered and ate everything she has on her menu, and honestly I would recommend everything, it was that good:

Beef curry (แกงเผ็ดเนื้อ)
Goat curry (แกงแพะ)
Cow foot soup (ช่อมาลี)
Bone soup (ซุปกระดูก)
Organ soup (ซุปเครื่องใน)
Omelet (ไข่เจียว)

Total price - 600 THB ($19.12) for everything

She makes some of the best beef soup that I’ve ever had in Thailand, maybe the world, and the cow hoof soup was extraordinary. Both curries were also fantastic. Amazing restaurant and hospitality, must eat when you’re in Hat Yai (หาดใหญ่)!

Thank you for watching, hope you’re having a fantastic day!

I ate a GHOST PEPPER!! ????️ Real Organic Food Farm in Chiang Mai, Thailand!

✅ Farm to Table in Thailand at Ori9in Farm, Chiang Mai, Thailand
???? Farm to Table - Ginger Farm:

CHIANG MAI, THAILAND - About an hour drive from the city of Chiang Mai (still within Chiang Mai province) is the amazing Ori9in farm. Today we’re going on a full tour of the farm but before, we’re eating a farm to table meal on the farm, at Waiting For May.

Waiting For May ( specializes in hyperlocal, organic, sustainable food from the farm. Chef James serves picnic style, where you order the different dishes which are seasonal and a combination of Thai and Western dishes. What immediately stands out about the food is how produce driven it was - not relying on anything that overpowered the natural taste of each vegetable. Also, keep in mind that I ordered the plant based dishes, however they do have a full menu including meat and poultry dishes.

Next we met up with Chef James who showed us around Ori9in Farm. It was refreshing to hear how it was started and how their aim is to educate and deliver sincerely organic ingredients, while treating the farmers with the respect they deserve.

They also happen to have some ghost chilis and I decided it would be fun to pop a whole one in my mouth… it was fun!

Ban Rai Krang (ชุมชนบ้านไร่กร่าง) - - At this community in Petchaburi we met up with our host Pu Yai Prasong (ผู้ใหญ่ประสงค์). This region is known throughout Thailand for their toddy palm production which they mainly harvest the sap and reduce it down to palm sugar. But they also eat a cutty made from the tops of the young husks, and that’s the dish we’re trying. They first harvested the toddy palm fruits. Then sliced off the tops, pounded a beautiful curry paste and added fish and grilled pork to the recipe. They also added plenty of fingerroot and coconut milk to thicken it. It was delicious! Toddy Palm Fruit Curry (แกงหัวโหนด)

Khanom Tan Mae Ying (ขนมตาลแม่หญิง) - - Additionally, one of my favorite Thai desserts is made from the husk of the toddy palm fruit, and so we were able to see the entire cooking process of this traditional Thai cake. Toddy Palm Cake (Khanom Tan ขนมตาล).

Si Sawat Restaurant (ร้านอาหารศรีสวัสดิ์) - - Lastly, couldn’t miss a Thai food meal of local Petchaburi food. And it was a perfect way to wrap up this incredible day of Thai food.

????️ Khrua Luang Then ร้าน ครัวหลวงเทน:

Khrua Luang Then (ร้าน ครัวหลวงเทน) - During my trip to Southern Thailand, and specifically the southern Thai province of Phang Nga, one of the restaurants I was most looking forward to eating was Khrua Luang Then (ร้าน ครัวหลวงเทน) - it was a place I could feel I was going to love before going - just from the look of powerful spices in the dishes, and the laid-back environment. Turned out to be one of the best Thai food meals I’ve had in a long time, one of my new favorite restaurants in all of Thailand.

We arrived in the morning just as they opened, and already Chef was extremely friendly and welcoming. We ordered a bunch of dishes - and they have some unique southern Thai food dishes that you won’t find elsewhere - so I was extremely excited.

Here are the main dishes we ordered:

Sour curry sea catfish แกงส้มปลาดุกทะเล
Beef dry curry คั่วกลิ้นเนื้อ
Fried fish turmeric ปลาทอดขมิ้น
Black stingray curry ผัดเผ็ดปลากระเบนดำ
Red ant omelet ไข่เจียวมดแดง
Octopus pineapple โวยวายสับปะรด
Sea shells หอยชักตีน
Stir fried morning glory ผัดผักบุ้ง

Total price - 1,800 THB ($55.46)

Before eating, I had a chance to watch Chef as he masterfully cooked all the dishes. His insane skills and use of huge amounts of spice blew my taste buds before even starting to eat. He makes all his own curry pastes, and sources all his ingredients locally.

The food was absolutely insane, bold, spicy, tingly, and a sensation for the tongue. Mind blowing flavor, and strong to the max curries. I loved every bite, and the entire experience.

Khrua Luang Then (ร้าน ครัวหลวงเทน) is located in Khao Lak (เขาหลัก), Phang Nga province (พังงา) in southern Thailand. Khrua Luang Then (ร้าน ครัวหลวงเทน) is also featured in the Thailand Michelin Guide. Must eat if you are a spicy Thai food lover!

Thank you for watching and hope you’re having a fantastic day!

Healthy Village Food - Tamarind Leaves Salad + Tomato Chili Dip! | Mae Hong Son, Thailand

MAE HONG SON (แม่ฮ่องสอน), THAILAND - Welcome to Muang Pon Village (เมืองปอน) in the northern Thailand province on Mae Hong Son, isolated in the mountains. This village is home to an amazing Shan, or a Thai Yai (ไทใหญ่) community who are originally from Myanmar. They have very unique food and ingredients that they use.

Today we are focusing on some of the amazing healthy salads of Shan food. Most of the ingredients were harvested right within the backyard or within the surrounding hills of the village.

They made a number of different combination salad including chilies, garlic, shallots, and fermented soy bean discs for that boost of plant based umami - which is a huge key to the deliciousness of the food.

There was a salad made with lablab or Hyacinth bean, a salad mixed with green young shoots of tamarind leaves - one of my personal favorites - and another salad made with blanched ferns and sesame seeds. They also made a chili dip with roasted tomato and fermented soy beans and a soup with mustard greens and ginger.

An amazing, fully plant based vegan meal in this incredible village in Thailand!
