Thor is one of the most ambitious and courageous human beings on this planet, and I'm glad to have finally caught him in Bangkok after 4 years of being internet friends!

This Danish man left his home in October 2013 with the goal to visit every single country in one continuous journey without flying on a single airplane. So far, he's made it to 174 countries by means of container ships, trains, buses and taxis -- and he's done it all on $20 USD per day!

Just wait until you hear the rest of his story -- it's one of my favorites yet.

Share this video with all of your travel friends, and let's root Thor onto the finish line!

On October 29, 2021, at 1:31AM - I crossed the border into Saudi Arabia, MY 197th & FINAL COUNTRY which took me 11 years to complete!!! ????????????

I'm feeling lots of emotions right now, and it will take some time to digest over the next few weeks as I travel across Saudi Arabia, but I just want to say first and foremost, THANK YOU ❤️

Thank you to my better half, Deanna, for believing in me since we met 6 years ago. Thank you to my loving parents and family for supporting me. Thank you to all of my best friends for pushing me during the hard times. Thank you to all the strangers and local tour guides I met, in faraway places, for keeping me safe and secure. And most importantly, if you’re reading this, THANK YOU.

I’m so grateful for this amazing YouTube community. I want you guys to know that for the past 4 years, I've poured my blood, sweat, and tears into telling the best stories about people and culture. And I am so freaking happy that you guys have been able to travel with me as I visited all 197 countries in the world. Thank you for all your comments, questions, advice, and words of encouragement. Without you, I do not stand here right now, in tears, at the Jeddah airport.

It has taken me 10 long years (almost exactly to the day) to achieve this goal, since I moved to Prague to study abroad in Jan 2012. I was 20 years old back then. Now I am 30. It’s crazy to think that I’ve been on the road nonstop, roughly 3,600 days, without taking a break.

But I made it!!! And I’m feeling as happy as ever. I did it. I FREAKING DID IT!!! I can now say that I have visited every single country in the world.

This is not the end of Drew Binsky. It’s only the beginning! I will now be chasing the STORY, not so much the COUNTRY. This means a bigger team that can help take my videos to the next level! But there are a lot of exciting projects that I'm working on -- below are links to my favorite ones:

1) My 2nd YT channel is called “More Travels with Drew Binsky,” where I will be telling you more inspiring stories around the globe. Subscribe here:

2) My Travel Hacking Course is live, Get the 1st Chapter FREE!

3) I am launching both a book and a docuseries in the next 1-2 years! More info on the film can be found here:

Man who visited every country without flying has finally returned to his home#youtube #travel

How long do you figure it would take to visit each and every country in the world without ever traveling by airplane? Thor Pedersen thought he could do it in four years. Last week, he finally got home to Denmark after almost 10 years on the road. This achievement would likely make the individual a seasoned adventurer and storyteller with a unique perspective on the world.
Traveling by alternative means such as trains, buses, boats, or overland routes would have allowed the person to immerse themselves more deeply in the local cultures and landscapes of each country they visited. It's likely they have experienced a multitude of memorable encounters, faced various obstacles, and gained a broader understanding of the world and its people.
Thor Pedersen is a Danish adventurer and travel enthusiast known for his incredible journey to visit every country in the world without using airplanes. Born on April 6, 1978, in Denmark, Pedersen embarked on his remarkable global odyssey in 2013 with the goal of exploring the world, experiencing diverse cultures, and promoting peace and understanding among nations. In this article, we will delve into Thor Pedersen's background, his epic journey, and the impact of his unique travel endeavor.

Thor Pedersen's passion for travel and exploration was ignited during his formative years. Growing up in Denmark, he developed a fascination with geography and cultures from an early age. His wanderlust and desire to explore the world led him to dream of visiting every country on the planet—a goal that seemed ambitious and daunting to many.

In 1999, at the age of 21, Pedersen embarked on his first significant international journey when he traveled to Malawi as a volunteer, working on a community development project. This experience in Africa deepened his connection with travel and opened his eyes to the vastness and diversity of the world.

Over the years, Pedersen's passion for travel continued to grow, and he visited numerous countries across different continents. He sought to immerse himself in the local cultures, learn about their histories, and connect with people from all walks of life. However, it wasn't until 2013 that he set a clear and audacious goal—to visit every country on Earth, without using airplanes as a means of transportation.

#newsfeed #journey #dailynews
Thor Pedersen's decision to travel without airplanes was driven by a desire to experience the journey itself, rather than simply reaching the destination. He believed that by choosing slower and more sustainable modes of transportation, such as buses, trains, ferries, and cargo ships, he would have a richer and more meaningful travel experience.
Thor Pedersen Sri Lanka.
Thus, the Once Upon A Saga journey began. Pedersen set off on his epic adventure from Denmark and traveled through Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Oceania. His travels took him to remote and challenging regions, where he faced various logistical and cultural obstacles.

Throughout his journey, Pedersen encountered different cultures, languages, and customs. He relied on the hospitality of strangers, making connections with locals who welcomed him into their homes and shared their stories and traditions. His travel experiences not only enriched his understanding of the world but also fostered a deep appreciation for the shared humanity that binds people together across borders.

Pedersen's journey was not without its challenges. Traveling without airplanes meant navigating complex visa regulations, crossing borders with multiple modes of transportation, and enduring long and arduous journeys. He faced bureaucratic hurdles, unpredictable weather conditions, and occasional safety concerns. Yet, his unwavering determination and adventurous spirit pushed him forward, making each challenge an opportunity for growth and learning.

Have you ever heard of ASHGABAT, TURKMENISTAN before? If not, then get ready to learn about how strange it is here in my 170th country.

I've spent the last 24 hours roaming around the capital city of Ashgabat, and IT REMINDS ME EXACTLY OF PYONGYANG, NORTH KOREA in just about every way possible. Huge fancy buildings with very few people inside perfectly manicured gardens and boulevards with nobody on them and this eerie feeling that someone is watching over my shoulder 24/7. TURKMENISTAN IS WEIRD.

People had told me that Ashgabat was strange, but I had no idea to what extent it was until arriving here.... Find out everything you need to know about Turkmenistan's capital in this video!

How many of you guys actually knew about this place? Would love to see a show of hands :)

FULL INTERVIEW: Torbjørn Thor Pedersen Completes World Tour Without Flying

He claims to be the first human to visit every country without flying or returning home. For the past ten years, 44-year-old Danish adventurer, “Thor” Pedersen has travelled to 195 countries by foot, bus, taxi and ship. In May 2023, the goodwill ambassador for Denmark’s Red Cross Society finally reached his last destination, the Maldives. “Thor”- who once fell ill with malaria in Liberia and even missed his grandmother’s funeral, says South Africa's beauty will stay with him forever. However, Iceland remains his ultimate destination. 2013 British adventurer Graham Hughes became the first to travel to every country without flying. He did, however, fly home to sort out his visas. Thor never did this. [ALL VISUALS PROPERTY OF THE RAUBY REPORT].

North Korea is (by a long shot) the world's most interesting country. It was a wild trip, to say the least, and I'm glad that I can share my experiences with you in this video.

I Made it to YEMEN (Crazy First Impressions)

Hello to all my friends, family, and followers -- I have arrived safely in Yemen and I will be exploring deep into the country by myself and one local guide over the next week.

Yemen is (by far) the most difficult country in the world to visit in terms of logistics (getting a visa, planning, etc) and staying safe. I'm sure you are aware that since 2011, Yemen has been in a constant state of war. Tourists are not welcome here, and it's extremely risky for any traveler to visit at this moment -- especially as both an American and a journalist. I am double at risk.

That all being said, I am beyond excited to have this rare opportunity to take you inside one of the most hidden and raw cultures left on earth. My first 24 hours have already been one hell of an emotional ride (as you'll see in this video) -- and you will be hearing lots more over the coming week.

You won't want to miss this series, trust me!
