Honey hunting is a very old tradition in the mountain areas of Nepal. It was the main source of sweets in ancient times when there was no sugar produced. Honey was used for medical purposes which still exists. In the past, people used to organize religious ceremonies before collecting honey to protect themselves from the attack of honeybees and any misshapen. Right before the hunting, worship takes place to respect the hard work of honeybees and their contribution to the survival of human beings.
The traditional way of honey hunting is taken as an adventure tour in the world. But in Nepal, honey hunting is still part of traditional livelihood that is why it is more interesting for the tourists to know the Nepali traditional honey hunting knowledge and skills. Besides, the tourists can experience the culture, village life, and the beautiful scene of green hills and Nepali Himalayas during honey hunting tours.
Honey hunting in Nepal is one of the amazing adventure tours. People with good knowledge of rock climbing can easily do a honey hunting tour. The wild honeybees make the beehives on the rock, often nearby the waterfall. There are no other ways to approach the beehives, except climbing with the help of a bamboo ladder or rope. The lead honey hunter collects honey in the baskets from the beehives and passes it down to another person. Honey hunting early in the morning or in the cold is best as in the cold the honeybees are not active and leave the beehives easily.

Mānuka honey known for being is earthier, richer, and more viscous than many other honeys. It comes from the nectar of the flower of Leptospermum scoparium — also known as Manuka, which is only native to New Zealand. Mānuka, in fact, is a Maori word.
The plant itself is very rare. It's difficult to harvest because the flower is only open for 12 days, and sometimes we have to use helicopters to collect this honey. John Rawcliffe from the Mānuka Factor Honey Association told Business Insider.
Although mānuka bushes can also be found in Australia, New Zealand accounts for almost all the world's production, with exports worth 300 million NZ dollars ($204m) and expected to rise to 1.2 billion NZ ($800m) by 2028.

Mipra village located at northern site of marsyangdi rural municipality, Lamjung. Honey hunting is doing twice in a year nearby village. Above the cliff its really very dangerous to climb up and hunt; very scary part of it. One small mistake may be fall down to the depth of cliff.
Every person of villagers go there for honey hunt it's like a festival here. Due to insufficient production market is not good so here.
