Grand Design Front Jack Repair | 5Th Wheel Landing Gear Failure
Today we are replacing a Grand Design front jack on our 5th wheel landing gear. It has taken nearly 2 years, but it finally happened! We received a front jack error code while trying to level our Grand Design 5th wheel. After attempting to reset the code and level again, we discovered the left front jack would not support any weight. We have gotten a jack error code in the past and the cause was a faulty left rear leveling jack motor. After getting a make-shift front jack support in place, we investigated further. As we suspected, the issue was in the Lippert front jack leg. In this video, we will show you the process and steps involved in replacing our Grand Design front jack leg. It wasn't difficult and with some basic hand tools, took just over an hour to complete!

It’s Out! RV Slideout Removal and Repair. It’s Not Good News.
It’s out! ..... Yes. The slideout is out! Ok finally making some good progress on the truck camper repairs. It’s not good news though. I’m also finding more things to be repaired. That’s ok.... I’m tearing into the walls to repair the frame but finding more rotten luan plywood and broken welds in the aluminum frame.
Tearing into the truck camper to repair some aluminum frame damage caused by years of road stress. The slide out supports have broken away from the main frame so it’s time to dig in and look at what needs to be done to repair and Rebuild the RV to make it stronger. We will be remodeling the entire interior (and possibly the exterior) of the truck camper while we have it apart.

This is a long term review (10 years +) of the Pittsburgh 1.5 Ton aluminum low profile racing jack from Harbor freight.
I have had this jack for 10+ years and used it for all my vehicles. I can confidently say I have put this jack through it's paces and it's been a beast.

HOW TO ADJUST YOUR RV SLIDE (DIY) #rvlife
Making a minor adjustment to the slide out on our new Jayco White Hawk 31RLKS. It's under warranty but I figured I'd give it a shot first before taking it back to the dealer and letting it sit there until they got a chance to look at it.
We knew that buying anything new required us to work the bugs out. Fortunately this was an easy fix!

Camper Slideout Repair. More Progress
More progress on the truck camper Slideout repair. More building the new camper Slideout. Some progress on the repair and remodel on my Fleetwood Elkhorn 12 foot truck camper. I’m just a couple of days away from getting this newly built Slideout installed. All new grade 8 bolts for the tie-downs, new grade 5 bolts for the happi-Jack Slideout mechanism.
I also installed new rubber seals on the sidewalk windows of the Slideout. Can’t wait to go camping!

Level Up Jacks Popping?? - Quick and Easy Fix!!

This is what Melinda kept asking me, after owning our Bighorn for a little over a year. So, I did some research and found the solution was simple....if you know the trick.
Adding a quart of Cat Hydraulic Oil Additive (model # 1U-9891) stops sticky or noisy hydraulics and for us...it removed the popping noise. Score!! Just remember to take out a quart, before you add this quart in, or you might have a big mess on your hands.
How to purchase? Do quick internet search. I found it on ebay for around $35, but I've heard of folks getting it for around $25. While not cheap by any mean for only a quart....it solved our popping noise on the first trip out with it installed.
