Predator 3500 Watt Super Quiet Inverter Generator from Harbor Freight
We got rid of our Champion 4k Generator and got a Predator 3500 Inverter/Generator! The Predator 3500 watt inverter/Generator is way quieter. It is also more fuel efficient.
The predator 3500 Inverter/Generator features electric start, a 2.8 Gallon fuel tank and super quiet at 57db.
So far it runs perfectly. I recommend the predator 3500 Inverter/Generator for RV and camping. I got it at Harbor freight but is also available at Amazon under various labels.

Harbor Freight 3500 propane conversion
A quick install video of the Nash propane gas conversion kit. By using this kit we are able to run propane without losing any of the benefits of the predator stock carburetor. This kit allows you to run a tri-fuel mixture, gas, propane and natural gas.

Running the generator at 50% load a 20lbs lasted 10 hours 45mins. What we are paying for propane from our local ACE hardware is 2.99. So our cost is about the same as gas. The reason we run propane is because its stable for long durations of time, no gumming of the carb and lower fumes.

Power Pro Technology 1000 Watt Generator - Running a full size LG refrigerator
I recently bought this little Power Pro Technology 1000 watt generator to have as a backup power source. I saw this on sale for only $90, so I thought I'd give it a try. I specifically wanted a small generator for the lower fuel consumption and portability. This will run for 5-6 hours on one gallon of gas and only weighs about 35 pounds. The only downside is that the two-stroke engine requires mixed fuel.
This video shows me starting it up and plugging the fridge in for the first time. My refrigerator is really big, so I was worried if the surge current would be too much for this little generator. It wasn't a problem at all. The fridge started right up. I ran it for a full hour without any problems. I'm confident it would run the fridge easily during an extended blackout.
I also considered a small Harbor Freight generator, but the running wattage was only 700 watts. This one is a better buy.
