Green Bamboo Curry!! VILLAGE THAI FOOD in Sukhothai, Thailand! ????????

???? Street Food Tour in Sukhothai:

Sukhothai - Ban Na Ton Chan (บ้านนาต้นจั่น), Thailand - Welcome to the amazing Ban Na Ton Chan (บ้านนาต้นจั่น) in Sukhothai, Northern Thailand! They have an amazing homestay program where you can arrange to stay and learn about the amazing culture and eat some incredibly delicious local home-cooked food! #Sukhothai #ThaiFood

Sukhothai is the ancient capital of Siam, and so there’s a lot of Thai culture and history here. Along with visiting the historical sites of Sukhothai ( I was very excited to learn more about the culture and especially eat authentic local Sukhothai Thai food.

After we arrived to Ban Na Ton Chan (บ้านนาต้นจั่น), we immediately went to check into our homestay where we were greeted by an amazing local early lunch. Among the spread of food, one of the highlights was barometer earthstar mushroom curry (แกงคั่วหมูเห็ดเผาะ), it was incredibly delicious. We ate, had some local durian, and then took a little rest before preparing the next meal!

Aunty was amazing, she went above and beyond to take care of us, and to cook us local food. In the afternoon we went to gather some fresh ingredients, including bamboo shoots, bitter melon leaves, and pea eggplant. Along with many other dishes, one of the main dishes Aunty cooked was a local style bamboo shoot curry (แกงหน่อไม้) ใบย่านาง), using mainly the fresh herbs and bamboo shoots that we harvested ourselves. She started with juice made from yanang ( leaves, which are common in certain regions of Thailand, often used for a curry broth. She then boiled the bamboo shoots, and added in an assortment of vegetables, mushrooms, herbs, spices, fermented fish sauce, and finally red ant eggs to finish it off. It was extraordinary!

For dinner we had an entire local Sukhothai Thai food feast - including the amazing bamboo shoot curry Aunty prepared, a chili dip made with egg, and an assortment of other delicious Thai food.

It was a learning experience, and so much fun to hang out with Aunty who was so kind and took such great care of us.

Price for homestay - 600 THB ($19.31) per person, Includes dinner and breakfast

Thank you for watching this Thai food video, and hope you’re having a fantastic day!

Hill Tribe Food!! WILD BANANA BLOSSOM with Lahu People - Mountain Village!

???? Hmong Hill Tribe Food:
???? Lanjia Lodge:
???? T-shirts and caps available now:

CHIANG RAI, THAILAND - Welcome to Lanjia Lodge ( in the Chiang Rai province of Northern Thailand. What’s amazing about Lanjia Lodge is that when you stay there, you are directly supporting two of the local Hill Tribe communities - a Hmong village and a Lahu village. Today, we’ve been invited for lunch at the home of the Lahu Shaman. Him and his family shared with us a local Lahu food meal, and it was spectacular.

But really quickly, who are the Lahu people? The Lahu are a people group who originally trace their ancestry back to southern China, Yunnan. In Thailand, the Lahu are known as one of the main Hill Tribes, often living in remote mountainous villages in Northern Thailand.

So today, we headed to the house of the local Lahu Shaman, where he and his family made lunch. There were a number of dishes, including, greens with pork, wild jungle banana blossom with pork, bamboo shoots, and finally rice steamed in a hollowed out log. It was a fantastic home cooked meal, and the dish that probably stood out the most to me was the wild banana flower blossoms - so milky and fresh. Additionally, similar to many Hill Tribes in Thailand, the traditional spoon is more like a natural spork, made from a joint of bamboo that can be used as a spoon, fork, and mini cup, all at the same time. One of the most convenient way to eat ever!

Huge thank you to Lanjia Lodge ( for arranging this. Highly recommended. The lodge is incredibly beautiful and relaxing. We loved our stay.

Thank you for watching this video!

First Time in SUKHOTHAI Thailand Travel Vlog - ancient ruins, alms giving, trying new Thai food!

Book transportation here:
You want to go to the historical park, NOT to Sukhothai city as then you'll have to get other transportation from the Sukhothai bus station to the historical park (yes, we're speaking from experience ???? )

In this Thailand Travel Vlog we finally make it to Sukhothai - the first ancient capital of Siam! We've already been to Ayutthaya multiple times, and many people told us to visit Sukhothai as well, but we couldn't find the time to go. Eventually we decided to take an overnight bus from Bangkok on Friday night to arrive in Sukhothai early Saturday morning, spend two full days exploring, and return to Bangkok Sunday night. Even in our packed weekend, it was so much fun!!

Sukhothai was the capital of Siam from 1238-1438 AD. It was essentially the beginning of Thailand! When Sukhothai fell, it was overtaken by Ayutthaya (the 2nd capital of Siam). If you like history, Ayutthaya is also an amazing place to visit and it is easy to do as a day trip from Bangkok (check out our Ayutthaya video here:

Sukhothai Historical Park is made up of different sections. The center, north, and west sections each charge a 100 baht entrance fee. While the east and south sections are free. We stopped by so many amazing temples including Wat Mahathat, Wat Si Chum, Wat Saphan Hin, and Wat Chetuphon! We tried the famous Sukhothai noodles - twice! And we were also lucky enough to arrive right before the alms giving at Wat Traphang Thong. Overall it was an amazing weekend exploring Sukhothai!

Michelin Guide Street Food Tour!! $0.64 THAI CURRY NOODLES in Chiang Mai, Thailand!

???? Village Thai Food in Sukhothai:
???? 100% Durian Chips - Order Here:

Chiang Mai, Thailand - We decided to go on a Thai street food Michelin Guide tour of Chiang Mai! All three of these amazing food stalls / restaurants, were featured in the 2020 Michelin Guide in Thailand, and all three were outstanding. If you have a chance to visit Chiang Mai, don’t miss them, highly recommended! #ThaiFood #MichelinGuide #streetfood

Guay Tiew Pet Tun Saraphi (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเป็ดตุ๋นสารภี) - - Located a little outside of Chiang Mai city, this braised duck restaurant is well worth making the effort to get to. Their braised duck, has an amazing herbal flavor, and is a step above many others I’ve had. We ordered Rice and duck (ข้าวหน้าเป็ด) and Duck noodles (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเป็ด). Both were amazing, but the noodles were the highlight for me. Price - 50 THB ($1.60) per bowl

Khanom Jeen Sanpakoi (ขนมจีนสันป่าข่อย (ไฮโซล้านนา) - - Next up on this Thai street food tour of Chiang Mai, we headed to the market for an amazing stall that’s hugely popular for their Northern Thai style curry. You can either choose rice of khanom jeen rice noodles - which are most popular. Then you can choose from a variety of their different Thai curries. I got, Khanom jeen nam ngiaw (ขนมจีนน้ำเงี้ยว), Green curry (ขนมจีนเขียวหวาน), and Beef curry (แกงเผ็ดเนื้อ). Another amazing thing about this place is that the plate of curry I had was just 20 ($0.64) per plate!

Khao Tom Yong (ข้าวต้มย้ง) - - Finally to finish off these amazing Thai street food Michelin Guide tour of Chiang Mai, we went to Khao Tom Yong (ข้าวต้มย้ง) for some Thai Chinese dishes. We ordered, Clams, chili jam (หอยลายผัดพริกเผา), Eggplant (ผัดมะเขือยาว), Tom yum fish (ต้มยำปลากะพง), Chayote leaves (ผัดยอดมะระ), Snakeskin gourami salad (ยำปลาสลิด), White chives (ผัดกุยช่ายขาว). Food was delicious, and a great way to wrap up this entire day of delicious street food. Total price - 420 THB ($13.44)

Street Food 21 CURRIES FOR LUNCH!! Unseen Food Tour in Southeast Asia!!

???? Indian Malay Food in Pattani:
???? Subscribe for NEW VIDEOS:

YALA (ยะลา), THAILAND - Located in the very far south, the Deep South of Thailand, Yala is a beautiful province known for its Malay culture and food, forest, and fruit paradise. In this Malay street food tour in Yala we ate one of the best traditional curry meals I’ve ever had in my life, and then continued on to the city to eat famous beef soup. Finally, we drove outside the city for some curian and cempedak. Get ready for some insanely delicious curry and fresh fruit in Yala, Thailand!

Khrua Wahid (ครัววาฮิด - Welcome to one of the best traditional curry restaurants I’ve eaten at in a long time. They serve traditional Malay and Thai curries and dishes from Yala. I was fascinated by the variety, and the ingredients present in each of the dishes. Literally every dish was outstanding, and many of them were new for me - even having traveled quite a lot in both Thailand and Malaysia. One of the many highlights was the quail and chili leaf curry. But really, you cannot make a bad choice at Khrua Wahid (ครัววาฮิด), it’s a must eat if you love curry when you’re in Yala, Thailand.

Quail - We stopped on the side of the road for a quick delicious roasted quail, so tasty.

Organ Soup (ซุปเครื่องใน (มัสยิดกาโบ) - In the iconic market of Yala in the the center of the city, you’ll find this legendary generations old beef soup restaurant. The soup is simple and refreshing, mainly focusing on beef organs and stomach. Additionally, you have to eat the soup with an omelet. The combination is fantastic.

Bang Lang Bridge and Lake - Finally to finish this street food tour of Yala, we drove about an hour to the iconic Bang Lang Lake and bridge. On the way, we stopped for some Yala fruit, including durian and cempedak. Unfortunately all the small “durian baan” were finished for the season, but the mon thong variety was still pretty good. And the view over the lake was spectacular.

I had an amazing time exploring Yala, but too short, so much more to eat and still do in Yala. I hope to visit again.

Thank you to my friends Mohammad and Rus from Papa Tagu for taking us:

Head-Sized GIANT MUSHROOMS!! ???? Pick + Cook 3 Ways - LOCAL FOOD DELICACY!!

???? Village Thai Food in Sukhothai:
???? 100% Durian Chips - Order Here:

Huge thank you to the Snow Mushroom Farm (สวนโสนเห็ดตับเต่า คุณหวาน) for hosting me. If you’re in Bangkok or anywhere in Thailand, you can order these giant mushrooms to your doorstep:

#Thailand #ThaiFoood #mushrooms

Ayutthaya, Thailand - Just an hour from Bangkok, we had an opportunity to pick, cook, and eat - giant head-sized golden mushrooms! What I immediately liked, is that they do grow the mushrooms and farm them, but they do it in a very natural way, using organic natural methods, and the mushrooms grown naturally in the soil under the trees next to the river.

Hed Dab Dao (เห็ดตับเต่า) - In Thai the mushrooms literally translate to “turtle liver” mushrooms - but I can assure you there’s no turtle and no liver in this video. We debated why they are called turtle liver mushrooms, and eventually we decided - and don’t hold us accountable to this, it’s just our guess - the mushrooms sort of have a liver texture, and they sort of look like a turtle from the top - so Turtle liver mushrooms. I did some research in English, and I believe that they are some type of King bolete mushrooms.

After harvesting some literal head sized golden mushrooms to eat, we then went to cook them. They made three dishes:

“Koy” mushroom salad (ก้อยเห็ดตับเต่า)
Mushrooms with sweet basil
Curry mushrooms (แกงเห็ดตับเต่า)

In order to cook all the mushroom dishes, he first sliced then boiled the mushrooms for about 5 minutes, then set them in cool water. From there, he made the three different Thai mushrooms dishes.

The mushrooms were the highlight, they have an amazing texture, soft and tender, and just perfectly slimy, almost to the point where they melt in your mouth while being hearty and meaty - or livery - at the same time. It was my first time to try King bolete mushrooms (เห็ดตับเต่า) and I loved them!

Thank you for watching this Thai food video, and hope you’re having a fantastic day!

Street Food SLEDGE HAMMER BEEF!! ???? Master Tenderizer! | Chiang Mai, Thailand!

???? Village Thai Food in Sukhothai:
???? 100% Durian Chips - Order Here:

Shout out to Andy Ricker ( and Austin Bush ( for the recommendation.

Joel’s channel:

Welcome to Pa Daeng Jin Tup (ร้านป้าแดงจิ้นตุ๊บ), a Northern Thai restaurant in Chiang Mai, that’s known for its sledge hammer pounded meat jerky!! The Uncle and Aunty who run the restaurant, also have incredibly bubbly and friendly personalities, so meeting them and hanging out with them is a highlight along with the food. #ThaiFood #streetfood #ChiangMai

We arrived and immediately began ordering most of the dishes they had on their menu for the day. Uncle made sure to tell us that unfortunately due to the day and the situation (post Covid lockdown), he didn’t have all the dishes on his menu that he often has. Even so, we were able to order quite a selection and quite a variety.

At Pa Daeng Jin Tup (ร้านป้าแดงจิ้นตุ๊บ), you’ll immediately notice the classic Northern Thai food grill very slowly roasting and smoking continually over low charcoal - the meat stays smoking until you order it. Once you order it, they carefully select some pieces of tough meat, put it on the cutting board, and Uncle starts pounding it with his signature sledge hammer - it literally is a sledge hammer, meat tenderizer!

The result is a piece of meat that’s so fragrant, and still slightly chewy - like jerky - but fun to eat and full of flavor. Additionally, you eat every bite with Uncle special sauce that contains bile to make it bitter and diversify the flavor. I also really loved the galangal chili dip. What a meal and what a time to hang out with friends, have some drinks, and some seriously tasty Thai street food.

Here’s everything we ordered:

Pounded beef (จิ้นตุ๊บ)
Pounded pork (หมูตุ๊บ)
Frog mix (ยำกบ)
Chicken feet soup (ขาไก่ซุปเปอร์)
Galangal chili (น้ำพริกข่า)
Fermented pork, egg (แหนมหมกไข่)
Steamed pork (หมูนึ่ง)

Total price - 620 THB ($19.92) for everything

Thai Food - Backyard Food Farm! 100 Edible Ingredients Garden in Chiang Rai, Thailand!

Welcome to the ultimate backyard Thai food forest in Chiang Rai, Thailand!
???? $1.52 Thai Buffet:

CHIANG RAI, THAILAND - Today we’re visiting Suan Ban Kan Kin Garden สวนปั๋นกั๋นกิ๋น, one of the ultimate backyard organic food farms in Chiang Rai. I could not believe the diversity of ingredients growing in the backyard in a relatively small area. We’re going to walk around and see the full farm, then we’ll cook some amazing dishes with ingredients we pick fresh.

Gurmar leaves - One of the key ingredients I love in northern Thailand is gurmar leaves, which are delicious and extremely healthy.

Chaya - Another vegetable that Aunty had growing abundantly in the back was chaya, also known as Mexican kale or tree spinach, and in Thai they sometimes call it MSG leaves because they are so tasty on their own and have umami.

Hairy-fruited eggplant - Finally to complete this Thai food farm to table experience, we made an extremely spicy chili dip with hairy fruited eggplant that has a taste somewhere between a tomato and gooseberry with a bit of bitterness. It goes so well together with chilies and garlic to create a powerful plant based chili dip for fresh vegetables.

Thai Green Curry - WHOLE AVOCADO!! ???? Plant Based Thai Food in Chiang Mai!

???? Thai Green Curry Avocado!
???? Singapore Thunder Tea Rice:

CHIANG MAI, THAILAND - Welcome to Chiang Mai, in Northern Thailand, and today I’m going to Raya Heritage hotel to cook and eat avocado green curry!

Raya Heritage is one of the most beautiful Lanna boutique hotels in Chiang Mai. And their restaurant serves food from the crossroads of cultures that represent the region. What I was most interested in trying is their fully plant based vegan dishes - mainly Thai, Chinese, and Burmese dishes that they can make fully plant based.

Along with delicious tofu cooked with chili paste over a roaring fire, and Thai vegetarian soup loaded with mushrooms and lemon basil, the star of the show was the Thai green curry with avocado. The chef makes his own green curry paste and fries it down with coconut milk and a whole avocado!

It was a great meal and a beautiful location in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Thank you to Raya Heritage for inviting me to their restaurant for lunch:

Tractor Ride and Walking Tour Around Ban Na Ton Chan, Ban Tuek, Si Satchanalai, Sukhothai, Thailand

This is my longest video I've uploaded yet, partly because I'm lazy to edit, and it's showing a bit of slow life experience around the village. There's usually another part of the tour that includes textile making, using mud to condition new fabric, but the textile show was shut down temporarily when I went this time. The small town of Ban Na Ton Chan is a bit far away (about 1-hour drive) from the main tourist sites of Sukhothai, but worth visiting if you stay a while. I enjoyed it and recommend sleeping overnight at a homestay to relax there for a day or a few.

If you want to skip the tractor rides around the village, you can click these timestamps to key parts of the video (plus links to locations):

Arabian Thai Food!! GIANT BIRYANI MOUNTAIN in Pattani! |

???? Ultimate Fried Chicken Tour in Hat Yai:
???? Papa Tagu:

PATTANI, THAILAND - I was excited to be in the very far south of Thailand, in Pattani. When I was there, one of the restaurants I was most looking forward to trying was Papa Tagu, a restaurant specializing in Thai Arabian food - especially what’s called “khao mok” in Thai, or a combination of both biryani and mandi.

We met up with Muhammad and Rus, the amazing owners of the restaurants, who have a unique story and passion for what they do. They are both professors, and when they decided to start a primary school, they each stopped what they were doing and went back to school to study for their doctorate degrees. But at that time they didn’t have a big income and needed to do something to support their family, so they looked into a small restaurant. Rus said, why don’t we make biryani, because your family makes biryani at home. So that’s what they did.

Their recipe is served Arabian / Middle Easter food style, yet the flavor of the rice and the taste of the ingredients, toppings, and sauce, is the Thai taste - strong, sour, spicy, balanced with sweetness.

It was an honor to see the process of the rice being made and to see our platter of rice being assembled into an insane platter - including two types of rice, a fried turmeric fish, fried turmeric prawns, fried chicken, and an entire surprise goat leg! She then sprinkled the entire plate of food with fried onions, crispy shallots, fried chilies, friend tomatoes, and garnished with more fresh vegetables - it was spectacular.

What a meal and experience eating Thai Arabian food in Pattani, Thailand. Highly recommended when you visit Pattani!

Thank you for watching and hope you’re having a fantastic day!

Cooking Thai Food In Thailand Experience | The Backpack Guy

???????? Bangkok is a surprising city, a city of contrasts with action at every turn. Other than travel, food is a passion of mine and Thailand always provided me incredible food experiences. I always wondered how to cook some original Thai Food, that's why I joined Oommy's Kitchen in order to learn how to be a local restaurant chef. We bought the ingredients at Wongwian Yai Market, then went't to the restaurant and cooked food for the customers.

Rare Street Food for Breakfast - ICE CUBE RICE + Coconut Milk Noodles!!

???? Chiang Mai Street Food Tour:
???? 100% Durian Chips - Order Here:
???? Khao Chae:

Welcome to Petchaburi, Thailand, a small city and province in the central region of Thailand. Petchaburi is known for its food that’s on the sweet side, Thai desserts, and palm sugar. I this video, it was my first time to walk around the center of the city of Petchaburi, and we found some rare Thai street food dishes for breakfast.

Khao chae (ข้าวแช่) - 25 THB - One of the most famous dishes to eat in Petchaburi is Khao chae (ข้าวแช่). We tried it from a legendary street food stall across the street from the market called Khoa Chae Ba Ean The dish is typically served only during the hot season. It includes rice and water scented with jasmine flowers, and combined with ice cubes. You then eat that ice rice with a variety of sweet candy and savory snacks. It’s a very interesting combination and you’re not sure if it’s a main dish or a dessert.

Khanom jeen sao nam (ขนมจีนซาวน้ำ) - 20 THB - Right around the corner from the khao chae is another equally popular Thai street food stall in Petchaburi that serves a variety of different khanom jeen noodles and curry. One of the dishes they serve that rare to find is called sao nam, a combination of coconut cream, dry shrimp, pineapple, and garlic. It’s an amazing and unique combination.

It was a quick stop in Petchaburi, but I really enjoyed its peaceful charm, and especially the delicious noodles for breakfast.

Thank you for watching, hope you’re having a fantastic day!

Vieng Tawan Sukhothai Guesthouse - Thailand 4K Travel Channel

It is 4 o'clock in the morning when we arrive. We also find the reception which, however, is not occupied at this time yet. The Vieng Tawan Sukhothai Guesthouse lies a little outside the center, almost in the arms of nature. We find tables and benches in front of the house and decide to use them for a short sleep. Falling asleep in the open is a bit difficult as we listen to the tropical chirping of the crickets and do not hope to be targeted by a snake. Although we have not seen any, we have heard that there are still a lot of cobras in the area.
With the first daylight, we explore the surrounding of the Vieng Tawan Sukhothai Guesthouse. The nicely decorated pigs seem to enjoy themselves amidst our cluelessness. The orchids in the trees and the nice plants in the garden lift our mood. The guest house makes a well-kept impression and is decorated lovingly with many details. We also discover a scooter and bicycle rental. The breakfast area is in the back part of the building on a veranda.
At last, one has pity on us and we can get our room. The owners are nice and friendly. They always stay in the background, so you have the feeling of being alone in the house.
But they immediately appear if you need a taxi or a Tuk Tuk.
The rooms in the Vieng Tawan Sukhothai Guesthouse are clean. The beds are re-decorated with the towels and flowers daily. The free WiFi works excellent. A breakfast buffet ensures a good mood in the morning. And during our stay, we paid € 20.- per day for the room including breakfast. You can hardly catch it.
After a quick shower, we go on a first exploration tour to the archaeological sites.

Even before I arrived at the Orchid Hibiscus Guest House in Sukhothai, I knew that they served a special kind of breakfast. And I was looking forward to it.
