Had to stop to see this gem! 1961 DeSoto Coupe - Barn Find

Spotted this gem while cruising through the woods in the Adirondacks. A 1961 DeSoto Coupe. So awesome that Eddy took the time to show us his pride and joy. It was annoying editing out all his curse words for the children though. Also, he has a pretty rare 1958 Harley-Davidson. Two classic rides that are ready for a bit of TLC.

Abandoned Millionaires Mansion With Luxury Cars Left Behind!!!

WE DO NOT STEAL OR VANDALIZE, JUST EXPLORE*
My friend and I were driving around and we stumbled upon this abandoned house in the woods. We were surprised by the fact that someone had left all of these luxury cars behind. Knowing that the someone owned all of these expensive cars we are assuming that all of this property once belonged to a millionaire leaving this to be an Abandoned Millionaires Mansion With Luxury Cars Left Behind.
We tried to find an owner online but could not find one.

Amazing Ghost Town Left With Trolley Busses | Abandoned Sandon | Destination Adventure

I have finally made my way to Sandon BC, after many years of anticipation. Sandon has very little left today but it used to be a large thriving city. From the main street you can see several of the original buildings invluding the original power house that is still function and in use, more than 100 years later. If you walk through the woods anywhere around Sandon, you will stumble across endless ruins, remains and artifacts slowly becoming reclaimed by mother nature. I had only planned to stay one day here but i ended up staying four. The beauty and history was just too much for me, so I had to stay and enjoy it.

Yingyuan Road originally ran from Jiefang North Road to Yuexiu Mountain Stadium. It was composed of Qingquan Street, Memorial Hall Road and Zhenhai Road during the Republic of China. It was built in 1952. Later, the road was extended eastward to Xiaobei Road in the mid-1990s, forming today's Yingyuan Road.
This road is named after Yingyuan Palace and Yingyuan Academy. During the Republic of China, the section from the west of Sanyuan Palace to Zhonghua North Road (today's Jiefang North Road) was called Qingquan Street, the section from the east of Sanyuan Palace to Jixiang North Road was called Memorial Hall Road, and the section from Jixiang Road to the fifth floor (Zhenhai Tower) was called Zhenhai Road. . Qingquan Street is named after the Yuewang Well, which is said to have been opened by Zhao Tuo, King of Nanyue. It is famous for its clear and sweet water. The name Qingquan Street disappeared completely after the closure of Qingquan Street Primary School in 2002. The school's site is now Yingyuan School, No. 2 Middle School, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City. Memorial Hall Road is named after the Zhongshan Memorial Hall to the south of the road. The memorial hall is connected to Yuexiu Mountain across the road, and you can follow the hundred-step staircase directly to the monument of Sun Yat-sen's Study and Affairs Office on the mountainside and the Sun Yat-sen Monument on the top of the mountain. Zhenhai Road is named after Zhenhai Tower. After the completion of Yuexiu Mountain Stadium, the road was reorganized into an east-west road along the southern foot of Yuexiu Mountain and passing Zhenhai Tower.
In the early years of the Qing Dynasty, King Pingnan Shang Kexi led his army southward to Guangdong, and his son Shang Zhixin built the Yingyuan Palace at the foot of Yuexiu Mountain. Later, King Pingnan was involved in the San Francisco Rebellion, which was quelled by the Qing government. Yingyuan Palace was turned into a Buddhist temple and a Taoist temple, but was later destroyed during the Second Opium War.
Yingyuan Academy was founded by Wang Kaitai, the chief envoy of Guangdong, on the original site of Yingyuan Palace in the eighth year of Tongzhi (1869). At that time, only candidates could enter the academy. Over the past year, the academy's candidate Liang Yaoshu, Xinwei, passed the imperial examination and was selected as the number one scholar. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the imperial examination declined, and the Yingyuan Academy was closed and renamed the Guangdong Pantheon. In the thirty-fourth year of Guangxu (1908), Zhang Renjun, the governor of Guangdong and Guangxi, founded the Guangdong Cugu School here with the purpose of preserving the essence of the Chinese nation. It was closed in the third year of Xuantong (1911).

Scooter Cannonball 2021 // Days 1 & 2: Bar Harbor, ME to Grove City, PA

Welcome back to our Super Cub Scooter Cannonball Run trip! Today is Monday, July 12, 2021, and we are beginning our 4500-mile trek across the country to Eureka, CA! Skip around with the chapter markers below.

Scooter Cannonball Run episode links:
T-2, T-1 & T-0: (Bar Harbor bike prep)
Days 1 & 2: (Starting the 4500-mile trek)
Day 3: (Grove City, PA to Traverse City, MI)
Day 4: (Traverse City, MI, to Marshfield, WI)
Day 5: (Marshfield, WI to Huron, SD)
Day 6: (Huron, SD to Hot Springs, SD)

We left our campsite near the Acadia National Forest late this morning, so we missed most of the group pictures and news broadcasters that came to cover the event. However, we saw the entire group assembled before the kickoff at around 6:45 AM. We chatted with several riders, and I got some videos of the starting group.

Day 1 took us 377 miles from Bar Harbor, ME, to Manchester, VT. The weather cooperated with us today, and the ride was relatively light. The ride was easy and relatively boring, but that wasn't bad. It let us get acclimated and settle into the routines of using the routing tools and rushing from point to point to take pictures. Unfortunately, I didn't capture much video that day due to camera issues. We arrived at the final checkpoint at the hotel without incident.

Unfortunately, two riders went down just a few miles into the trip when they failed to negotiate an off-camber turn where they hit some gravel on the road. Korny (#51) low-sided his Honda Forza 300 resulted in several broken ribs, a broken sternum, and a punctured lung. He was transferred to a trauma center and remained there for five days before being transported by ground back home to Florida (no air flights due to the lung issue).

DJTINY (#177) followed Korny into the corner too closely, and he went off the road and flipped over the handlebars. Luckily, he only suffered minor injuries, but his new Vespa GTS was mangled in the wreck. He couldn't continue that day, but he purchased a new Vespa and continued the ride FOR ZERO POINTS just a few days later!

Day 2 took us 493 miles from Manchester, VT to Grove City, PA. The weather wasn't kind, and we rode about half the day through medium rain storms. We made good time despite the weather and managed to crush out nearly 500 miles in about 12.5 hours (including fuel stops). My rear tire was toast at the end of Day 2 and had to be changed. The Michelin Pilot Street tire was worn through to the cords after only ~3200 miles! I had a spare Pilot Street 2 on my trailer, so I swapped that during the frantic bike maintenance in front of the hotel while we dodged more rain storms. Luckily, I could change the tire and seat the bead without hassle. Future tire changes would prove more difficult and require access to large air compressors to quick-set the tire's bead on the rim.

Time indexes:
0:00 Leaving the Mount Desert Campground and riding to the SCBR starting point
2:32 Showing all the bikes at the starting line, only 73 out of 185 registered riders checked in!
5:24 Starting Day 1 of the ride without a clue... we're just following the GPS! ????
8:55 User error, reading TrickTracks incorrectly already
11:08 Already suffering on gravel?
15:44 Using a combo routing approach, wrecked riders already?!
21:03 Wrap up at the finish line for Day 1 at the hotel
--
24:30 Waking up at daybreak to load the bikes and get an early WET start
28:15 Quick walk through the hotel lobby, no breakfast! Socializing with other riders on the ride
30:59 Starting Day 2 with a wet, soggy 500-mile ride
34:02 GPS routing hacks, using 3 different sources to beat faster riders to checkpoints!
40:53 This is why I run both hardware GPS and phone routing apps... no road ahead?!
46:54 Wrap up at the finish line for Day 2, my rear tire is TOAST at 3200 miles!

The Great American Road Trip! Maine is Full of Strange Surprises (Van Life USA)

After the chaos we found last week in Acadia National Park, we decided to head away from the coast and explore the backwoods of Maine in our van. A vast wilderness that we could spend months getting lost in (probably literally) and home to the Grand Canyon of Maine - Gulf Hagas. As much as we would love to stay longer, we have to keep moving south. We find ourselves on a beautiful Schooner called Olad, experiencing Maine in a way like no other, before stumbling across a museum full of Bigfoot footprints, replica mermaid skeletons and a million other cryptids that have us thinking we've walked into a real life X-files case ????

↠ A BIT ABOUT US
We're Chesca and Ben, and with our two pups River & Scout (???? ???? ) we live and travel full-time in our self converted sprinter van, Sophia. We spent the past 2 years road tripping as much of Europe as we could, from the wild coasts of Portugal to the Syrian border in Turkey, tackling lockdowns and a van re-build along the way. But now, we're feeling like a new challenge. In the summer of 2022, we'll be shipping our van from the UK to Canada, on a mission to drive her all the way to Mexico baby! ???????? ????
