Finally returned to Cayman after many years of being away! It was just a short trip but I made sure to get some spotting in! The airport has changed a lot! Still good to see lots of traffic now that everything has blown over!!
For those who are new - this is my hometown, childhood airport. I grew up spotting here and this is where my channel really started!

Visited home back in March of this year (2020) and managed to spend almost a full day at the airport! What unfortunately didn't get recorded was the number of planes that had to hold and the duration of some of the holds they had to do! On Saturdays during our Peak Season, MWCR sees flights from every destination offered so there were a lot of flights!!

Senior Cabin Crew member Rose Gadsby retires from Cayman Airways after 35 years
After 35 years as a dedicated Cabin Crew Member with Cayman Airways, Rose Gadsby officially retired from the National Airline on Wednesday August 10, 2022. Her final flight was KX601 from Kingston to Grand Cayman, and she fondly recalled how her very first flight with Cayman Airways 35 years ago was from Grand Cayman to Kingston, Jamaica, so it was most fitting that her final flight was from Kingston to Grand Cayman.
Upon her last flight's arrival at Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA), the aircraft received a water cannon salute in her honour, conducted by the Cayman Islands Fire Service. She was then greeted with an honour guard at the foot of the aircraft stairs, made up of colleagues, airline officials, friends, and family. On the day prior, Government Ministers, officials and well-wishers also greeted her at the airport, including: the Hon. Kenneth Bryan, Minister for Tourism and Transport; the Hon. Christopher Saunders, Deputy Premier and Minister for Finance & Economic Development and Minister for Border Control & Labour; Hon. Andre Ebanks, Minister for Financial Services & Commerce, and Minister for Investment, Innovation & Social Development; and Deputy Speaker of the House, Katherine Wilks. Ms. Gadsby was first employed as a Junior Air Hostess with Cayman Airways almost 36 years ago.
During her tenure, she served in many In-flight department roles, including as Assistant Director of Inflight Services alongside Mrs. Minnie Giddings, and later as Director of In-Flight Services. She also assisted extensively with the Initial and Recurrent Training of Cabin Crew members over the years. At the time of her retirement, she was one of the airline’s most Senior Cabin Crew Members.
The Board of Directors, Management and the entire Cayman Airways Family are appreciative of her exemplary service, and wish her the very best in her retirement.
