MAP OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO [ DRC ]

hello my friends. this is a map of the democratic republic of the congo. The DRC is located in central sub-Saharan Africa, bordered to the northwest by the Republic of the Congo, to the north by the Central African Republic, to the northeast by South Sudan, to the east by Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi, and by Tanzania , (across Lake Tanganyika), to the south and southeast by Zambia, to the southwest by Angola, and to the west by the South Atlantic Ocean and the Cabinda Province exclave of Angola. It straddles the Equator, with one-third to the north and two-thirds to the south. With an area of 2,345,408 square kilometres , it is the second-largest country in Africa by area, after Algeria.

As a result of its equatorial location, the DRC experiences high precipitation and has the highest frequency of thunderstorms in the world. The annual rainfall can total upwards of 2,000 millimetres in some places, and the area sustains the Congo rainforest, the second-largest rain forest in the world after the Amazon rainforest. This massive expanse of lush jungle covers most of the vast, low-lying central basin of the river, which slopes toward the Atlantic Ocean in the west. This area is surrounded by plateaus merging into savannas in the south and southwest, by mountainous terraces in the west, and dense grasslands extending beyond the Congo River in the north. The glaciated Rwenzori Mountains are found in the extreme eastern region.

The tropical climate produced the Congo River system which dominates the region topographically along with the rainforest it flows through. The Congo Basin occupies nearly the entire country and an area of nearly 1,000,000 km2. The river and its tributaries form the backbone of Congolese economics and transportation. Major tributaries include the Kasai, Sangha, Ubangi, Ruzizi, Aruwimi, and Lulonga.

The Congo River has the second-largest flow and the second-largest watershed of any river in the world. thats all. please comment and subscribe for the best maps. goodbye.

#drc #democraticrepublicofcongo #mapschool #mapsolo #petamap #cartemap #mapamap #congo #congodemocraticrepublicofthe #congoriver #kartemap

Discover CONGO-BRAZZAVILLE: The Second CONGO | 10 INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT IT

Recently, we talked about the Democratic Republic of Congo. Today, I’m about to take you to the nation next door to DRC. Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Republic of Congo, also known as Congo-Brazzaville. That’s right, Africa actually has 2 CONGOS. Some of you are probably wondering, what is the difference between Congo Brazzaville and the Democratic Republic of Congo? The answer is actually quite simple. First of all, the name Congo comes from the Bakongo, a people present in both countries. So that's why these two countries have a similar name.

Then, you should know that the difference between the DRC and Congo Brazzaville is that they were colonized by two different nations! We talked about it in our video on the Democratic Republic of Congo, this country found itself colonized by the Belgians, where Congo Brazzaville was colonized by the French. Another difference between the two countries is the currency: in Brazzaville, the currency is the Central African CFA.

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the most used currency is the US dollar, then the Congolese franc. Finally, one last difference is noticeable at the language level. If the two countries have French as an official language, all the other local languages and dialects are fundamentally different!

In Congo Brazzaville, the official language is the French language. It is spoken by more than half of the population, which is one of the highest rates on the continent, along with Gabon. Likewise, it is estimated that 90% of those over 15 can express themselves well in writing, showing that the official language is mastered. But it is not at all the only language spoken in the country, the others are mainly Bantu languages. The Bantu correspond to the geographical area stretching from Cameroon to the Comoros, and from Sudan to South Africa. This area is very large, and that's why there are over 400 different Bantu languages! However, in Congo Brazzaville the two most important national languages are Kituba and Lingala. Next come the téké and lari languages. There are still more than forty other languages in the country, but which are not Bantu. They are Pygmy languages. But then why was French chosen as the official language when we have so many national languages? According to Laval University, it would be because of the wars and civil wars that rocked the country. The French language would have become a language of refuge for the various armed factions. For example, people who are unsure of their skills prefer to speak French for safety reasons. It is also a way of keeping one's origin to oneself: with a language characteristic of a region, it is possible to receive derogatory remarks. By speaking French, we do not reveal our ethnicity.

Some of you may not know it, but the Republic of Congo has its other name, Congo Brazzaville, in reference to its capital. And yes, the latter is called Brazzaville and was founded on October 3, 1880. It is located in the south of the country, and has a very special history, which dates back to the time of colonization. At the time, the French had control over the territory, and wanted to create competition in Léopoldville, a town located on the opposite bank, on the DRC side. The aim was to seize power in order to explore and exploit the land along the Congo River. It was basically the small village of Mfoa that grew in importance over time, so much so that it was erected as the municipality of Brazzaville in 1911! Where does the name come from, do you think? It's simple, Brazzaville is taken from the name of a Franco-Italian explorer: Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza. It was in the capital that the Brazzaville conference took place in 1944. The purpose of this conference was to redefine, after World War II, relations between France and the African colonies. For the first time, we were talking about decolonization. This is a major historical element that played out in Brazzaville!

For this fifth fact, let's talk about one of the country's ecological prides. The Congo Basin forest is a tropical rainforest that extends over approximately 65% of the territory! Shared between six African countries, it is the second largest rainforest in the world after the Amazon rainforest. It is therefore the largest rainforest in Africa! In fact, she is one of the few to have an intact and completely sovereign nature.

map of the Republic of the Congo [ Africa ]

The Republic of the Congo (audio speaker iconpronunciation (help·info) French: République du Congo, Kituba: Repubilika ya Kôngo), also known as Congo-Brazzaville, the Congo Republic or simply either Congo or the Congo, is a country located in the western coast of Central Africa. The country is bordered to the west by Gabon, to its northwest by Cameroon and its northeast by the Central African Republic, to the southeast by the DR Congo, to its south by the Angolan exclave of Cabinda and to its southwest by the Atlantic Ocean. French is the official language of the Republic of the Congo.

The region was dominated by Bantu-speaking tribes at least 3,000 years ago, who built trade links leading into the Congo River basin. Congo was formerly part of the French colony of Equatorial Africa. The Republic of the Congo was established on 28 November 1958 and gained independence from France in 1960. It was a Marxist–Leninist state from 1969 to 1992, under the name People's Republic of the Congo. The sovereign state has had multi-party elections since 1992, although a democratically elected government was ousted in the 1997 Republic of the Congo Civil War, and President Denis Sassou Nguesso, who first came to power in 1979, has now ruled for over 4 decades.

The Republic of the Congo is a member of the African Union, the United Nations, La Francophonie, the Economic Community of Central African States, and the Non-Aligned Movement. It has become the fourth-largest oil producer in the Gulf of Guinea, providing the country with a degree of prosperity despite political and economic instability in some areas and unequal distribution of oil revenue nationwide. Congo's economy is heavily dependent on the oil sector, and economic growth has slowed considerably since the post-2015 drop in oil prices. With a population of 5.2 million, 88.5% of the country practices Christianity. The Republic of the Congo is divided into 12 départements (departments). Departments are divided into communes and districts.[44] These are:

All of my videos contain material protected under the principles of fair use in accordance with Section 107 of the Copyright Act. I use Google Maps to create these videos. To create these videos, I personally search for locations on the map and record via OBS and Movavi software.

It takes hours of work to create such videos, though you may think it's easy :)
