RV Generators and what we learned.
In this video we go over how Hurricane Ida taught us which of the three portable generators that we tried is best for our 30amp Retro RV. We tested the Honda EU2200I, Honda EU3000IS and the Champion 3650W. We show starting each generator and compare the noise levels. We discuss which of the three portable generators is best to power our camper at home and while camping.

My name is Eric and I travel with my cat, “Jax” in a 2012 Coachmen Mirada 32BH Class A Motorhome on a Ford Super Duty truck chassis. (V10 Triton) We travel about 35 miles a day chasing 70 degrees year-round since 2010. I travel with a 2009 Honda CMX 250 on the back of my RV on a Titan Ramp 600lb carrier. My travel trailer came with Lippert Power Stabilizer Jacks installed and while very easy to deploy the stabilizer feet with the push of a button I started to wonder if traditional, manual scissor jacks might provide better stability. I picked up four 5000 lb scissor jacks and tested them against the powered stabilizers - and there was a clear winner.
The 5000 lb, 24 inch scissor stabilizer jacks provided significantly more stabilization than the powered legs. Couple that with the DIY 2x4 stabilizers and I was barely able to move the bubble on a spirit level jumping side to side in the RV.

Mounting a Generator Rack on RV Bumper ????

Although the video will show you how you can install a folding generator rack from Harbor Freight or from possibly other retailers it really needs to point out more than anything else that the rear bumper on the RVs are very sketchy and some of them are worse than others like in our case. However we did get the rack modified and the bumper reinforced and a hitch Mount mounted but if I had to do it over again I probably would have just had a hitch welded directly to the frame of the RV and have it lower then the bumper. But again are RV sits awful low as it is and I would hate to have something hanging down even further than the bumper that I have already drug more than once going in and out of locations. So hopefully this will help you to avoid some of the mistakes I made and maybe change your mind about doing it in the same manner that I did. Again it works and there's no issue with that it's just a little bit more work and Fabrication that was required. Thanks for watching.

There is legislation that would compel the California Air Resources Board to adopt regulations by This coming July - July 1, 2022, to prohibit emissions from all small off-road engine engines including portable RV generators. ⬇️⬇️ Click Show More ⬇️⬇️
Assembly Bill 1346 is intended to push the use of battery-operated lawn and garden equipment, BUT it will also result in banning the sale of portable generators in the state as soon as 2024.

in this video going to give you some How to Cut Pipe and How to Measure Holes.
What I'm making in this film is a funnel that will fit a specific spot. It has to fit into my generator fuel tank through a hole in the top of a box. This will also show you the repositioning of my license plate along with a short review on the generator carrier for my RV.

this is a great little Yamaha generator very quiet I have not even ran a full tank of fuel through it yet. It will not run my air conditioner. But it will run most everything else. one of the reasons I chose this generator was it runs quietly naturally, but it also is fuel efficient compared to the bigger models. If I decide I need to run air-conditioning I can buy another Yamaha EF2000iSv2, and they will together to give me a full 2000 W of power which will run air-conditioning and everything else in the RV. I'm relatively new to this so please bear with my poor photography and video work. Harbor Freight Predator 3500 watt generator Noise Test running the RV Air Conditioner?
In this video, we test both the Harbor Freight Predator 3500 watt generator and the Generac ix2000 generator for noise levels while running our Dometic 10,500 btu Cool Cat air conditioner in our 2018 NuCamp T@B 400. We measure the sound using a decibel meter app on our iphone from 23 feet away from the generator.

Buying a RV: Top 10 Tips. Here our are Top 10 tips for buying a RV, Motorhome, travel trailer, etc. Whatever type of recreational vehicle you plan to purchase our tips will help you to make the right buying decision. Kim and I have been happy RV owners for going on two years now. We felt it was the right time to try and help others out there that are also looking to purchase their first RV. Smart buyers research for a year or more before buying an RV, says Chuck Woodbury, editor at RV Travel, an RV news and information website. An RV can be the most expensive item you'll ever purchase after your home, he says. Inexperienced buyers purchase an RV based on appearance and floor plan alone, without taking time to notice cheap components like an off-brand water pump, substandard plumbing or cabinets stapled to the walls, says Woodbury.
Whatever you do, never buy on impulse, he says.
When buying a new RV, offer 30 percent off the MSRP, says Woodbury.
If you can't get the deal or close to it, don't buy. Walk away. Or try a different dealer, Woodbury says.
Best times to buy a new RV: Last of the month or end of the year when sales departments need to meet quotas.
