GUAM | Things I Miss About Guam | If I visit again, these would be the first things I do!

#guam #guamlife #islandlife

It's been about 9 or 10 months since I left my beautiful island home Guam, and now I'm definitely missing certain things that I can't get anywhere else. If you're a newcomer or you may be moving to the island soon, here are my top 8 things I miss about Guam!

1. Guam beaches! It is an understatement to say that Guam beaches are some of the most beautiful sites you'll ever experience. Not only are they gorgeous, but they're also so easy to get to! My favorite beach for fun, drinking, and sports was definitely Dungca's Beach next to the Jimmy Dee's bar in Tamuning. For quiet and calm scenery, I loved places like the Inarajan Pools, Lotte Beach, Alupang Drive, and so many more. These were perfect settings for meditation or a nice drive away from your busy lifestyle to just be one with nature.

2. My favorite dishes from certain restaurants! Granted you may be able to find dishes similar to these, but of course you can't get an exact match. Some favorites include the spicy tomato penne from Capricciosa, Manicotti and Fettuccine Alfredo from Vitale's, and the soups from Simply Food.

3. Fiesta plates! If you ever get invited to a village fiesta or family fiesta, you must go! You'll fall in love with all the local dishes prepared. Some of my favorite items are Chamoru BBQ, red rice, kelaguen, and pancit.

4. Coconut trees and flame trees! You know you're in a tropical paradise when there are coconut trees everywhere LOL! The more sentimental reason I miss coconut trees is because our dog Max loved playing with coconuts and husking them :(

5. Carabao Brewing's Coconut Porter! Living in Virginia now, yes I have access to so many breweries, but I have yet to find a dark beer that comes close to that awesome porter on Guam. However, that does make it more special because knowing that's the only place I can get that beer, it's just going to taste that much sweeter whenever I get to pay a visit back :)

6. My favorite bars! My favorite nightlife spots would have to be Horse and Cow, Old Traditions, and Porky's Bar. Horse and Cow has a great food and beer selection, but it also has a lot of fun elements for you active adults, like pool tables, a jukebox, video games, and beer pong tables. Old Traditions is located in the quieter side of Tumon, and it was our favorite spot to play darts, foosball, beer pong, and enjoy live music when they had it. It was also one of the very few places that allowed us to bring our dog Max with us, so that was pretty awesome! Porky's Bar in the busier part of Tumon was our go-to for live rock music, from 80's to acoustic, you name it. The positive vibe from everyone just having a great time, plus the awesome service from the friendly bartenders, made this an easy spot to have a fun night.

7. Rockit Ride! This rhythmic cycling studio was a huge part of my workout regimen. I would do 4-5 classes a week because I loved it so much! I haven't really looked around Virginia much to find a place like this, but I'm sure they got to be around here. More so, I'm so sad that I left when my sister started training to be an instructor and is now one of their main ones! I'd love to take her class if I get the chance to visit.

8. Snorkeling! I never knew how much I loved this until I couldn't get the same experience out here. Guam's waters are not only safe and warm, but they're also so clear, which means you can see exactly what you're jumping into LOL! Once you get in though, there are so many species of marine life--from jellyfish to turtles to black-tip sharks, you're always bound to see something whenever you go snorkeling on Guam. My favorite spots would have to be Fish Eye, Ague Cove, Gun Beach, and Gab Gab, but of course, there are so many other awesome snorkeling locations to discover!

If you’re looking for a tropical paradise, Guam should be on your list. Guam has some of the best beaches and in this video, we'll show you some of the beaches in Tumon bay and northern Guam.

Guam is a US territory and an island located in Micronesia. It’s about 3 hours and 45 minutes away from Japan so we decided to come here for a month long vacation!

The beaches we went to were mostly in Tumon Bay. If it’s your first time in Guam, Tumon is a very popular area to stay in because of its proximity to the beaches!

The beaches in this video are Lotte beachside, Matapang Beach, Fujita Beach, Ypao Beach, beachside restaurants at PIC and Dusit Thani, and Ritidian Beach.

I rented the Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUP) Boards used in Fujita Beach from SUP SHACK GU! They have a great summer promo going on, so take advantage of that :) ig @supshackguam

Guam Travel Guide

Guam Travel Guide

Guam is an island in the western North Pacific Ocean. It is the largest and southernmost island in the Mariana Islands archipelago. Guam is a territory of the United States of America. Guam enjoys a tropical marine climate: generally warm and humid, moderated by northeast trade winds.

The northern part of the island is a relatively flat limestone plateau and is comprised of two villages (Dedeo and Yigo) and the United States' Andersen Air Force Base. Dededo is Guam's most populous village. Highlights for visitors include the Guam National Wildlife Refuge Ritidian Unit, the Micronesia Mall, Two Lovers Point, parks, beaches and hiking trails. Dededo hosts a busy weekend flea market that attracts large crowds - vendors sell all kinds of items, local produce and tasty food.

Central Guam is quite metropolitan. The island's capitol of Hagåtña is the seat of government and features a historic walking path through the village. Tumon Bay is brimming with luxury hotels and high-end shopping. Destinations of interest here include: the Chamorro Village with its lively Wednesday Night Market; the historic Plaza de Espana and Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral-Basilica; plentiful beaches with water sports like parasailing, kite boarding, boating and personal watercraft. Local companies offer dolphin watching, diving, and fishing tours regularly. The most bustling nightlife is located in this region of the island - there are many bars, karaoke joints, and dance clubs up and down the Tumon strip. Shopping spots include Guam Premier Outlets and Agana Shopping Center. A new Guam Museum is currently under construction.

Guam's southern end is mostly rural and picturesque - featuring a volcanic mountain range and rolling green hills. Chamorro customs are preserved at Inarajan's Gef Pa'go Cultural Village; it features thatched huts and offers a picture of pre-World War II Guam. Visitors can learn to make a variety of crafts including woven items, rope, sea salt, coconut candy and coconut oil. Off the coast of Merizo and across a lagoon sits Cocos Island. Talofofo Bay's black sand beaches are a beautiful contrast to the white sand found around the rest of the island. Hiking trails are plentiful, and lead to destinations like Upper and Lower Sigua Falls and an ancient Spanish bridge down in Cetti Bay. The War in the Pacific National Historic Park operates a visitor center near the main gate of US Naval Base Guam.

Hagåtña (formerly Agana or Agaña) is the capital of the island and the seat of government. Agana Heights - Suburban area in the hills above Hagåtña. Fort Apugan, a Spanish Era fort looks out over Hagåtña Bay and the island.

Asan is the home to the War in the Pacific Park's Asan Beach Park. The park preserves the shoreline where the Marines and Army landed to retake the island in 1944. Inarajan and Gef Pa'go Cultural Park features handicrafts, dance performances and local food.

Mangilao is the home to higher learning institutions on the island - the University of Guam and Guam Community College. Tumon is the tourism district that features high-end shopping and hotels, bustling nightlife and adult entertainment. Visit Umatac during March to see a re-enactment of Ferdinand Magellan's landing, complete with burning huts and angry islanders.

MAP OF GUAM

greetings my friends. this is a map of Guam. Guam is 30.17 miles long and 4 to 12 miles wide. It has an area of 212 square miles. It is the 32nd largest island of the United States. It is the southernmost and largest island in the Mariana Island archipelago, as well as the largest in Micronesia. Guam's Point Udall is the westernmost point of the U.S., as measured from the geographic center of the United States.

The Mariana chain of which Guam is a part, was created by collision of the Pacific and Philippine Sea tectonic plates. Guam is located on the micro Mariana Plate between the two. Guam is the closest land mass to the Mariana Trench, the deep subduction zone that runs east of the Marianas. Volcanic eruptions established the base of the island. The north of Guam is a result of this base being covered with layers of coral reef, turning into limestone, and then being thrust upward by tectonic activity to create a plateau.

The rugged south of the island is a result of more recent volcanic activity. Cocos Island off the southern tip of Guam is the largest of the many small islets along the coastline. Guam's highest point is Mount Lamlam at 1,334 feet above sea level. If its base is considered to be the nearby Challenger Deep, the deepest surveyed point in the Oceans, Mount Lamlam is the world's highest mountain at 37,820 feet.

Politically, Guam is divided into 19 villages. The majority of the population lives on the coralline limestone plateaus of the north, with political and economic activity centered in the central and northern regions. The rugged geography of the south largely limits settlement to rural coastal areas. The western coast is leeward of the trade winds and is the location of Apra Harbor, the capital Hagåtña, and the tourist center of Tumon. The U.S. Defense Department owns about 29% of the island, under the management of Joint Region Marianas. thats all. please comment and subscribe for the best maps. goodbye.

#guam #guamusa #guamlife #pacificislands #pacificisland #mapamap #mapschool #mapsolo #petamap #cartemap #kartemap
