Swim-up bar for adults with in-water tables and chairs

Excursions through Frank The Tank - professional, reliable, friendly and gave us amazing experiences

NEGATIVES
Basic for a 5* Hotel but clean and nice food
Dated room and bathroom
Dark Sand beach but beautiful with wildlife (don't expect white sand Cuba beaches)
Hotel needs updating everywhere and TLC work in areas
Sometimes a long wait at pool bar
Not great comfortable bar seating for relaxing in the evening
Entertainment very loud

My first time in Costa Rica | Matapalo Beach | Hotel Riu Guanacaste
Costa Rica makes up for 0.03 percent of the world’s surface and is home to 5-7 percent of the world’s biodiversity. It is home to the second longest democracy in the Americas after the U.S., elections are held every 4 years as there are no re-elections. Costa Rica is known for producing sugar, mainly from sugar cane, alcohol, bananas, coffee, and so many other goods. So much of this land is dedicated to agriculture. Currently, the main driver of the Costa Rican economy is tourism. Costa Rica is also home to many Nicaraguan immigrants who usually have incredible stories to share about politics and history!! & I just eat it up. We visited Costa Rica for 8 Days and this is part 1 of our journey. In this episode, I take you along the process of flying to Costa Rica, our first night in Hotel Riu Guanacaste and our first full day at Matapalo Beach. This resort has the most magical property and incredible service with a lovely kind staff. The beach was incredible, the water was warm and salty, which I absolutely love, clean and filled with life :) this is always a great sign!! We swam lots and ate colourful and flavourful food, it's watermelon and mango season in Costa Rica so those two fruits alone made my heart so happy. I hope you enjoy this first part, the next episodes will be exciting so stay tuned :) with love always, Naz
