The Elusive Fosa 2, Lemur Island, Madagascar

This is the second of two short videos of a caged fosa. They are the main predator of lemurs. They are becoming quite rare due to habitat destruction. They are apparently excellent climbers and can chase and catch lemurs in trees or on the ground. We thought we might see one at Kirindi Forest on the west side of Madagascar as they were often seen there hanging around a garbage dump, but not when we were there. So this is the only place I got to see one. Unfortunately, like most predators he spends his time pacing back and forth. Very sad existence.

Viaje a Madagascar -
