Community Spotlight | 2020 Ford F250 Tremor | Joey Gutierrez

Joey Gutierrez and his pup Rowdy, overland in their 2020 Ford F250 Tremor. As a professor who finds himself having frequent free time, Joey has been able to adventure as he pleases.

The most unique feature of his rig (and quite possibly our favorite), is his center console refrigerator from Dometic. Other features include Roam Adventure Co. storage boxes, a Goal Zero/Yeti 500X lithium battery charging station and solar panel, Bush Company 270 degree awning, a Decked storage system, LifeSaver water storage and filter, and of course, recovery gear.

To follow along on Joey and Rowdy's adventures, check them out on social media @overlandprofessor.

WHEELS ARE OFF... Build Update! 2020 Ford F250 - Super Duty Build | Part 13

As with any truck build project… there is always more to do! Here’s the latest changes we made to the Ford Super Duty:

- Fox 2.5 Resi DSC Rear Shocks (tuned by Accutune) – Icon Shock Boots
- Rear shock mounts chopped for 2” increase in ground clearance
- UCF (Under Cover Fabworks) Sterling 10.5” Differential Cover
- Crown Performance SS Rear Brake Lines (custom length)
- Interior Bike Rack (moved over from 2019 Crew Cab)
- Carli Rear Bump Stop Drop
- Deaver Leaf Springs
- Sway Bar Delete
- Fox ATS Steering Stabilizer
- Carli SS Front Brake Lines
- PSC Hydro Assist Steering
- ScanGuage II (monitoring)
- RAM mounts for camera and tablet
- ForScan computer programing changes (tire size, tire pressure and more)

So far… The truck has been working great! It’s fun putting it through the paces on/off road and making changes as needed. Performance has been excellent. There are several additional modifications in the works but nothing that will keep us from adventures!

Any questions or suggestions?

4 Day Off Road Truck Build – Our 2020 Ford F250! - Super Duty Build | Part 4

Full build specs and costs here:

We took our brand new 2020 Ford F250 with only 200 miles and ripped it apart! We had ordered all the parts before picking up the truck from the dealer. We began work on day 2 of ownership!

The build included:
Warn Front Bumper
Smittybilt x2o 12k Winch w/ Thimble
Rough Country 40” Curved LED Light Bar
Warn Rear Bumper
ARB CKMA12 Compressors (two of them)
OX Locker Dana60 w/ Air Actuator
Carli Suspension: 3.5” coil springs, bump stop drops, caster shims, sway bar end links, track bar
Fox 2.5” Adjustable Resi Shocks
Method 701 : 17x8.5” Wheels
Yokohama Geolander X-AT 37x12.5R17
Custom Auxiliary 21 gallon fuel tank
Fabricated camper tie down mounts
Welded bed camper slide guides
Fabricated Rock Sliders

Huge thanks to Derek for facilitating the build in his fabrication shop and for building all the custom camper mounts, rock sliders, air compressor mounts, LED bar mounts and more… additional help from his friend “Twitch” (nickname) on the build as well.

Derek typically builds custom off road buggy chassis, solid axle swaps and extreme off road type vehicles. He’s an extremely skilled welder and fabricator. I’ve known him for about 10 years and he’s helped on many of my past “odd” projects.

Baja Designs LED Lights! How do they work? - Super Duty Build | Part 18

We finally completed the F250 Super Duty build! The final missing parts were the bumper lights. These lights were originally planned for the truck but just didn’t want to spend the time or money…until NOW.

40” LED Light Bar – Rough Country 72940BD - $310
36,000 Lumens, 400W, Cree Led, IP67 Waterproof with plastic cover (for California)

Driving LED Lights – Baja Designs XL80 677803 - $800
9,500 Lumens (each), 80W, IP69 Waterproof

Fog Lights – Baja Designs Squadron SAE Amber (street legal) 257815 - $265
2,480 Lumens (each), 22W, IP69 Waterproof

Rear Flood Lights – Baja Designs Squadron Sport Wide Cornering 55805 - $250
3,150 Lumens (each), 26W, IP69 Waterproof

Total Cost: $1,625 – Is it worth the money? YES! Especially compared to paying $1,200+ for the factory LED headlights. These lights offer much more usable and functional light (front/rear) with massive front illumination.

My favorite feature is wiring the driving lights to turn on with the factory hi-beams. This makes them much more functional for back road driving. The factory auxiliary switches make wiring simple, clean and easy. Hope this helps give you guys some ideas…
