After 5 months in the US I was finally able to fly home, with Lufthansa B747-8 in First Class! This is the first of A 2 part episode that focuses on my Lufthansa First Class flight from LA to Frankfurt. Lufthansa fortunately retained most of their service standards and are still operating the Boeing 747.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. ????????????

TRIP REPORT | First Time on Lufthansa B747-8i | Los Angeles to Frankfurt | Lufthansa Boeing 747-8i
Lufthansa Trip Report flying from Los Angeles to Frankfurt onboard one of the new Lufthansa Boeing 747-8i on a nice afternoon, night, and morning over the US, the Atlantic, and central Europe.
A comfortable flight from Los Angeles to Frankfurt onboard the Lufthansa Boeing 747-8. The airplane was almost full, but we were lucky that the middle seat was free, so the extra space made this 11h flight a lot easier.
The onboard service, although it has nothing to do with middle-east airlines, was not bad. Definitely better than the one offered on my previous flight to Dubai with Lufthansa on the Boeing 747-400. At least this time the salad was not only lettuce... The pasta main meal was actually pretty good. Not amazing but tasty.
The flight itself was really nice: we took off from Los Angeles airport towards the Pacific Ocean and made a quick 180° over the coast back to the United States. We had some nice views before we caught the night. The ones over Las Vegas, the Nevada desert, or the Rocky Mountains were truly amazing.
The Sunrise over the Atlantic was also really nice. First, the intense blue colors, which after a short time, turned into yellow, orange, and red. That's the magical moment of any flight: 100% of the passengers are sleeping and the plane is in complete silence. The perfect atmosphere to enjoy the Sunrise at 37.000 ft. We entered Europe mainland over Brussels and flew on direct course to Frankfurt, where we landed after a beautiful approach.

After two years of the Pandemic, it was the first flight with Lufthansa in First Class. Ground Service was the same as before. Great Service and on my day the Quality of the Food was also excellent. This time I decided not to go to the First Class Terminal because I wanted to test the First Class area close to the B-Gates in the Senator Lounge and I was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent but please don't expect an extensive menu. It's more of a nice waiting area until boarding. First Class itself was divided into two. The crew was very good, but the catering was disappointing because some things were gone right after the start or the caterer didn't even supply them at all. All in all, it was a nice flight. Enjoy the Flight.

Lufthansa First Class on a Boeing 747-8, Chicago to Frankfurt
My report on a journey in the First Class cabin aboard a Boeing 747-8, the newest iaircraft n the 747 series. I traveled from Chicago O'Hare Airport (ORD) to Franfurt International Airport (FRA.) This was the first leg in a journey to Johannesburg; the rest of the trip was in First on a Lufthansa A380. I will post a video of this trip separately on this channel.

Flying Lufthansa B747-400 Business Class - The Last B747-400 Operator
I travelled on Lufthansa B747-400 from Dubai to Frankfurt as part of my Chinese New Year journey to the U.S. The Lufthansa B747-400 made a comeback after months of grounding and uncertainties.
Lufthansa has its own lounge in Dubai but it is rather small and basic. After a short stay, I moved to the Dubai Airport Ahlan Business Lounge which has better food selection.
Once onboard the Lufthansa B747-400, I have the only solo seat in the entire business class cabin. The solo seat 4D, is in the middle of the 747 nose area. The seat is rather exposed without much privacy but I can get in and out easily. It was an overnight flight so the entire flight was in darkness. I enjoyed a quick snack and breakfast before landing. Overall, I am grateful to be able to fly on the B747-400 again, a proven reliable workhorse for the airlines.
This is just the first part of my journey to the U.S. on Lufthansa. Next week, I will share my video inside Lufthansa First Class Terminal and onboard Lufthansa B747-8 First Class from Frankfurt to Los Angeles.

Flying First Class on the Queen of the Skies! Lufthansa 747-8

Flying the Lufthansa 747-8 Jumbo Jet in First Class from Mallorca
In this video we take a flight in First Class on the Lufthansa 747-8, on a very special short flight from Palma to Frankfurt. This is the second in our Palma series, captured shortly after arriving from Munich on the A350. We get a heavy dose of the Queen of the Skies with views of the graceful 747 from the tarmac, takeoff and lunch service from seat 2A in the nose, plus we chat with one of the flight attendants about the special flight, do a cabin walk-through, check out the crew rest bunks and cap it all off with a quick chat with the Captain, who's been flying 747s for decades. In other words, ten whole minutes of the 747 in all its glory.
