Flying the $5 Million Honda Jet - The Cheapest Private Jet?

I flew my first Honda Jet from Paris to Milan. Honda Jet is a light private jet with 4-5 seats and costs around $5 million which makes it one of the cheapest private jets. It is like a Japanese car with every inch of space utilized. It even has a private bathroom. The plane is powered by GE Honda HF120 engines mounted on the pylon above the wings.

My flight is arranged by charter broker LunaJets; one of Europe’s leading charter brokers. The flight is operated by JetClub, which allows you to own a fraction of the plane. The owner can even fly in the Honda Jet to build jet hours! A cool concept for pilot training. We climbed to 31,000 ft and crossed the spectacular Alps in great weather. It feels very cozy with just me as the sole passenger.

After landing in Milan Malpensa, I rushed off to the main terminal to catch an Emirates A380 to Dubai. This time, I flew in Economy Class. From a private jet to the back of the A380 Super Jumbo. I experienced two unique flying experiences in one day!

Meet the World's New Record Breaking Gulfstream G700

I was invited to an exclusive viewing event of Gulfstream's new flagship, the Gulfstream G700 in Doha, Qatar.

Gulfstream introduced the G700 as the industry’s new flagship aircraft. It boasts business aviation’s most spacious cabin and can fly farther, and faster, than any other competitor in the business-jet industry. Equipped with the all-new Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, and an advanced high-speed wing design, the G700 is able to fly at a record-breaking speed (Mach .925) and range with outstanding efficiency.

The G700 cockpit features the award-winning Symmetry Flight Deck, with active control sidesticks. The cockpit has done away with most buttons and replaced them with a clean touchscreen design on all panels.

Qatar Executive, the private jet arm of Qatar Airways, is the launch customer of G700. The executive charter service provider has ordered 10 of the world’s largest business jets, taking delivery of the very first aircraft off the Gulfstream assembly line in Georgia, US in 2022.

The Last Qantas Boeing 747 - An Emotional Farewell

A grand farewell to the Qantas Boeing 747, flying from Australia to Los Angeles and to her final resting place at the Mojave airplane graveyard.

Qantas’s B747 is the most iconic plane and has served the Australian airline for nearly 5 decades. I was in Los Angeles and Mojave to witness her final arrival before retirement. It was a bittersweet day to see her final landing on July 24th 2020 in the Mojave Desert, California (Landing by Captain Ewen Cameron, 11:50 local time).

After her landing I was able to board the 747, I got the chance to interview the pilots and joined them for a final walk around. There were just so many emotions running through everyone while bidding farewell to the most iconic airplane of all time.

A lot of my love towards aviation was inspired from the Qantas B747, in the video I share my stories growing up with her. Not only will I miss the 747, I will also miss the human stories from this plane; sharing the laughter, the passion, different cultures and experiences through the shared love of B747 that brought us together! Onwards and Upwards.

Check out for more information and memorable photoprints.

What Happened Inside the Airplane Graveyard?

I visited Mojave, California which is a famous airplane graveyard in the desert. More than 100 planes are stored here and it is end of the line for most planes that arrive in the graveyard. I went inside an ex Thai Airways B747-400 to take a look at the interior, much to my surprise the interior had been kept intact. Then I step inside an ex-Qantas B747 and found my way to walk on the 747 wing! I could almost touch the winglet!

Then we drove to Victorville to meet up with an airplane scraper Huy, Huy gave us a tour and explained how they tear down airplanes using an excavator. The useful parts, such as the engines, the avionics and the interior, are usually stripped out for sale . We went inside an ex United B747-400 and ex Singapore/VIM B777-200 to take a look.

Talaat Captan, owner of Air Hollywood, and Anthony Toth, co-owner of the Pan Am Experience, appear in this video as tour guides of the airplane graveyard storage.

40 Hours Inside a B747! Cargo Mission Over the Himalayas (US - Pakistan - Nepal)

I was on a humanitarian mission inside a National Airlines B747-400BCF, delivering medical cargo aids. I flew from Frankfurt Hahn to Islamabad, Pakistan and over the Himalayas to Kathmandu, Nepal. The flight originated from the USA carrying nearly 80 tons of USAid, destined for Pakistan and Nepal.

Our B747 landing into Kathmandu was a thriller! After passing through the last clouds, the entire Kathmandu valley came into sight. Our descent was much steeper than the usual 3 degrees glideslope; it required all the breaks we had to come to a full stop at the end of the runway in Kathmandu, due to high altitude.

What a great privilege to be part of the team to send these much-needed supplies around the world, also to be able to document behind the scenes of such a mission! I felt like “an airplane man” staying inside the B747 for 40 hours, from dark to light to dark again! That’s just 2 days in the life of a charter cargo crew! Certainly very different to the passenger airlines.

Flying $200 Million Boeing 747-SP Private Jet ALONE

I flew on a private Boeing 747-SP VIP Jet from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to Marana, AZ, USA. I was the only passenger traveling inside this $200 million flying palace private 747 jet.

Check out the luxurious interior of this ex head of state airplane in the video. Sit inside the cockpit and watch how the pilots fly the B747 classic. It was just an exhilarating and unbelievable experience flying on a B747-SP VIP plane in 2019.

Inside the Las Vegas Sands A340-500 Private Jet

I was invited to view the Airbus Corporate Jet A340-500 from Las Vegas Sands by Citadel Completions at the MEBAA business jet airshow in Dubai.

The Las Vegas Sands private jet interior is beyond amazing. It is the most opulent and luxurious one I've seen. It cost more than $100 million for the interiors alone!

Inside the NEWEST Boeing 747 (Boeing Customer Experience Center)

An inside look at the Boeing Customer Experience Center which features the new B747, B787 and B737 mock up cabin designs.

The director at Boeing gave a detailed explanation about the philosophy of Boeing's cabin and interior design. Let me know in the comments what you think of these mock up cabins for the Boeing 747, Boeing 737 and Boeing 787 planes.

Special thanks to Boeing for inviting me to their Customer Experience Center.

Super Luxury B767 Private Jet Flying Experience

Super Luxury Private Jet Flying Experience. Imagine having the whole plane to yourself, without sharing with anyone!

I was invited to try out the new Comlux 767BBJ in Zurich. The plane, affectionately known as SkyLady, has recently undergone a major refurbishment and upgrade program.

The flight attendant gave me a tour of the large plane. Inside the Comlux 767BBJ SkyLady, the multi-room cabins are divided into 6 independent areas; with a massive ensuite bedroom, a lounge room that can be converted into a second bedroom, a dining and meeting room, First Class, Premium Economy and a crew rest area. It can fit up to 51 passengers.

The plane flew around Switzerland and Northern Italy for around 1.5 hours, with some very nice scenery en-route. I experienced the ultimate in private aviation luxury. A multi-course fine cuisine meal was served by Bijoux catering, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I also enjoyed the super-fast 2KU band internet connection on-board.

Besides its comfort and connectivity enhancements, SkyLady is equipped with an all-new ionisation system; this system improves air quality in the cabin by removing viruses, bacteria and spores in the air and on surfaces, it also works to by eliminate annoying and noxious odours.

A Tribute to the Boeing 747

This video celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Boeing 747, queen of the sky!

Watch the rare 747 roll out and first flight footage from 50 years ago. I pay tribute to my favorite airplane with selected footage over many 747 flights throughout the years.

From the rare cockpit takeoff and landing footage on the 747 classic to the modern luxury 747-8 interior and everything in between, this video is a must for every 747 and any aviation fans!

Note: 747 historical footage are used under the approval by Boeing.

-------

The Boeing 747 was ubiquitous as the world’s “Jumbo jet” with a powerful quad-jet engine and a 150% greater passenger and cargo capacity than its predecessor, the Boeing 707.

The aeroplane had its first commercial flight in 1970, taking off from Dulles international airport after a special ceremony to christen the plane involving First Lady Pat Nixon, with the airline Pan American World Airways and held the record for maximum passenger capacity for an astonishing 37 years. The aeroplane has been regularly used by the prestigious likes of British Airways, Lufthansa, Korean Air and Atlas air.

The distinctive shape of the upper deck made the aeroplane versatile, with this feature permitting an exclusive first class lounge, as seen in this video, whilst also facilitating the forward thinking commercial ideas of Boeing, who actually saw the aeroplane’s long term use being in cargo carrying – the rounded shape allowed the plane to be easily converted to a cargo carrier by removing seats and installing a front cargo door.

The Boeing 747 surpassed all expectations – its production figures were not expected to exit the hundreds but by 1993, production of the aeroplane had surpassed 1000 units as the predicted dominance of supersonic aeroplanes failed to materialise.

The Boeing 747 has enjoyed one of the longest runs of service of any model of aeroplane and select aeroplanes are still in use today, including the Boeing 747-200 and Boeing 747-400.

A number of these wonderful aeroplanes have found homes in museums all over the world upon their retirement, for future generations to admire and appreciate the genesis of the marvel that is the Boeing 747 jumbo jet.

Back in March 2008, I flew on Syrian Air B747SP-94 YK-AHB “Arab Solidarity” from Dubai to Aleppo. It was amazing to fly the B747-SP on this short flight, but it was full of drama and chaos.

The flight suffered a 12-hour marathon delay in Dubai Airport, due to a broken part. Syrian Air flew in their own mechanic to do the repairs. After boarding, a fight broke out between the Captain and a frustrated passenger. During half way our destination was also changed, from Damascus to Aleppo! Thanks to our lengthy delay we were too late to land at Damascus Airport, as it had been closed for the Arab Summit.

I was rather glad to have visited Aleppo city in 2008 before the war broke out later in Syria. It is great to see Aleppo Airport having been re-opened last year and welcoming traffic again. The Syrian Air B747-SP was sent for maintenance in Saudi Arabia, but has not returned to service since the civil war broke out in Syria.

World’s Oldest and Last Active B747 Classic - Mahan Air B747-300

Get Surfshark VPN at  and enter promo code SAM to get 83% off and 3 months for free!

A B747-300 passenger aircraft is back in the sky flying after spending over 5 years in maintenance! Can you believe it? Here is the story:

On 15th October 2015, one of their B747-300s, EP-MNE, was involved in an incident on flight 1095 from Tehran to Bandar Abbas

While climbing through 7500 feet, the no.3 GE CF6-50E2 engine suffered an uncontained failure. Some parts of the engine detached and struck engine no. 4, as well as damaging the aircraft structure. An emergency landing was declared. The plane was able to land safely and was carrying 441 passengers and crew.

Surprisingly, this 747-300 EP-MNE didn't get written off! Mahan Air put in 5 years of work in maintenance on her and she recently completed a heavy C-check.

They managed to transfer 2 engines from a retired sister ship, EP-MND, and got this B747-300 back flying in the sky once again. The Mahan Air B747-300 is now the world's last and oldest B747 passenger currently flying.

I flew on the Mahan Air B747-300 domestically in Iran a few years ago. I was very lucky to fly on the upper deck of this 747 classic. This video shows my flight experience on now the world’s oldest and last active Passenger B747, from Tehran to Mashhad.

With most 747’s having been retired and killed off by the pandemic, it is definitely good news to see a B747-300 back in the sky flying.

Thanks to Loran ( Shahram Sharifi and Charles Kennedy for their input and footage to make this video possible.

The Story Of TWA’s Boeing 747SPs

Trans World Airlines, known in short as TWA, had a rich history that lasted for more than seven decades. Between 1930 and 2001, the carrier operated a wide variety of aircraft from several different manufacturers. Boeing was one of the most common of these, and TWA flew multiple different variants of its iconic 747 family. Among these were three examples of the short-fuselage 747SP. Let’s take a look at the story of these aircraft.

A Tale of Two Air India B747 Flying Experience

This is a video of two distinct Air India B747 Flying Experiences. First, I flew with Air India 10 years ago from Jeddah to Mumbai via Hyderabad on their B747-400. Later, Anthony Toth re-created the classic Air India B747-200 onboard experience in 2020.

I share my trip onboard Air India B747-400 First Class from Jeddah to Mumbai. There are photos of the Air India B747-400 modern-day cabin and its onboard service.

Anthony Toth from Pan Am Experience had spent much of his 2020 to re-create the glorious past of Air India B747-200 retro flying experience. Every detail was taken care of in the process of re-creating the experience. The whole B747 was decorated up in the 1970 decor. Wallpaper, seat fabrics, tray liner, glassware, dining-ware, packaging, coaster, menus and everything else resembled Air India in the 1970s.
