First Tourist to Europe during COVID-19 | 12 BIG Differences
With all the travel restrictions and bans in place, flying during Covid19 is controversial. But when a country opens for tourism, what is right and what is wrong? In this video I travel from Canada to Europe during the 2020 pandemic, and show you some of the main differences along the way. The EU had just opened non-essential travel to select nations around the world, and I took advantage of my Canadian citizenship to be one of the very first tourists to arrive in Europe during the coronavirus pandemic.
Upon landing in the European Union, I was only asked where I was going. There were no questionnaires, no temperature checks, or swabs. I wasn't even expected to self quarantine, or isolate myself upon arrival. (even though I chose to). I was a free man.

Heading to Europe & Not Sure What to Pack? Here are a few things that my fellow US travelers may want to avoid packing if they are traveling to Europe.
1. Baseball Caps: Europeans in general do not wear baseball caps, especially backwards. You would be better served to wear a more traditional hat. You will see an occasional NY Yankee hat, but why not buy the fancy hat you always wanted instead?
2. Athletic Wear: Europeans tend to wear athletic wear to do sports, not to wear around town. There is a trend of more athleisurewear in Europe, but it is not to the extent that there is in US.
3. Khakis: the omnipresent US male pant choice is not something you will see too often in Europe. Go for colored pants or jeans. If you want khaki like pants wear Chinos instead of Dockers. The pants you will see are a thinner cut or skinnier fit than in the US.
4. Oversized US University Sweatshirts.
5. Sport Shoes or High Heals: US sport shoes and white socks are not quite as popular in Europe as they are in the US. You may be better off with Urban Street shoes like Vans instead. Also, women should be careful with high heels as with all the cobblestone it is easy to hurt your ankles.

Some of the countries on this list might surprise you but these are a few of my favorite places in Europe! You can travel to every country in this video on a budget but some are more expensive than others.
No matter what continent, there are always places you can visit on a budget- the best thing you can do when learning how to travel is realizing that No destination is really ever “too expensive”. You just have to get creative with it. The things you look for when you’re just getting started seeing the world is
1. Budget Friendly prices
2. Safe and easy to navigate
3. Filled once in a lifetime experiences
I’ve lived on anywhere between $15-$60 USD per day while traveling and depending on where in the world I was, I was able to fully experience each destination. However, there are some places like France and Italy where I recommend splurging on all the amazing food!

Hello Hoppers! In this video I show what documentation I needed to check-in for a flight from Frankfurt Airport to Zadar in Croatia. Many countries are opening up and lifting travel restrictions, however, travelers over 12 years of age must hold one of the following medical certificates:
A negative COVID-19 PCR test, taken within 72 hrs of arrival.
A negative COVID-19 Rapid Antigen test, taken within 48 hrs of arrival.
A valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
EU Digital COVID Certificate
will facilitate safe free movement during the COVID-19 pandemic within the EU. It will serve as proof that a person was vaccinated against COVID-19, received a negative test result or recovered from COVID-19. The certificate can be used across all EU Member States as well as in Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
