BANGKOK - LOS ANGELES - This is my first time traveling internationally on an airplane since before the pandemic began. We flew from Bangkok to Narita to Los Angeles on ANA (major Japan airlines) Business Class. So in this video I’ll give you a full flight review and tour, and mainly show you all the amazing Japanese food on the flights.

Our first flight was from Bangkok to Narita, Japan and it took about 5 hours. We were served an amazing Japanese food, more like a kaiseki meal. When I woke up from a nap, they came around and took our snack order - and they had a few things on their menu that you could order at any time. Something I was desperate to order was their Ippudo Ramen, a very well known Japanese ramen brand. I’m happy to report the ramen was the best sky ramen I’ve ever had in my life, amazing.

One the second flight, it was from Bangkok to Los Angeles, USA and we were first served dinner. Dinner was a multicourse amazing kaiseki Japanese food meal, including appetizers, and the amazing main course of sukiyaki and salt cured mackerel. Then we were served breakfast, again a delicious Japanese food.

Food on ANA business class was fantastic, service was outstanding, and really great flights. It’s an honor to have an opportunity to travel at this time, and to travel on business class on ANA.

Thank you so much for watching. And by the way, I’ll be in the United States for a little while, any suggestions about where to go in the US for the most amazing food experiences?

Thank you for watching and hope you’re having a great day!

Flying Internationally during COVID-19: Cathay Pacific Business Class [Hong Kong to London] VLOG

What changes has Cathay made to its business class service in this COVID-19 pandemic? I flew long haul CX251 from HKG to LHR on 26 August 2020, on an A350. Watch this thorough travel vlog to see my experience start-to-end, and hear my thoughts on Cathay Pacific's business class product and coronavirus measures taken.
???????? ✈️ ????????
I've flown this route/class (some on the 777, some on the A350) many times over the past few years, so I am able to compare in detail the changes. The airlines has introduced Cathay Care measures to help us feel more confident flying during this time of the pandemic. I see for myself if they are working as they should, and give my opinion of whether it is safe to be flying during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Special thanks and appreciation to the flight crew, most of whom have been grounded given the severe reduction in flights - they were even more enthusiastic and genuinely warm/helpful than their usual high standards.

Flying to Thailand during the pandemic

We have a very different kind of video this week, showing highlights from a long day of travelling, after a much longer preparation to be able to do this travel to Thailand during the Covid-19 pandemic. Before getting a visa for the non Thai of us, the Embassy required a range of papers: A Thai health insurance which covers Covid-19, certificates showing negative Covid-19 test results and a doctor's signed Fit-to-fly papers (both within 72 hours before departure), of course in addition to plane tickets. The tickets (Thai Airways) had to be booked and paid via the Thai Embassy, since the flight we were going with was a special repatriation flight only bringing cargo from Thailand and mainly Thai nationals back to Bangkok.

The health insurance company we chose to use is Pacific Cross in Bangkok:

They could offer the required Covid-19 coverage of 100 000 USD and have been candid and swift in their correspondence so far, so that we could get the insurance certificate the Embassy needed in time.

We start in an airport hotel in Gardermoen, Oslo (Norway) very early in the morning and jump directly to Kastrup, Copenhagen (Denmark), skipping the short SAS flight in between, which apart from mandatory use of face masks and no serving of food is quite normal: a nearly fully seated flight. We have more than 7 hours to kill in Kastrup, so there is plenty of time to look around. The seats are well marked with signs encouraging social distancing, but this morning we feel there is little need: I've never seen such a vacant airport building before.

Well boarded we find that just 1 to 2 out of 3 seats are used on this flight, and that the security is impeccable: The crew is wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and each passenger's temperature is measured before takeoff. We're surprised to see the new and very aesthetically pleasing (MTV-like) safety instruction video on this Airbus. The food and service is also very good, as on any Thai Airways flight.

The big difference is that you cannot see the famous Thai smile behind the face masks and shields ;-)

After landing, at Suvarnabhumi, Bangkok, we are lined up to have our temperature measured once more, and all papers (including a certificate of entrance to the kingdom) are carefully checked before we are escorted to the immigration passport control. We have already been equipped with a badge from the Alternative State Quarantine hotel at the gate, and we are finally met by two of the hotel's drivers, also in full PPE, who escort us to the minibus and drive us to the hotel. The minibus reminds me about an ICU at a hospital: it's sealed with plastic curtains between us and any others that might drive along with us (it was only the two of us this morning). Once at the hotel, we have our temperatures read again, before we eventually can go to our hotel room, where we stay during the whole quarantine period of two weeks. See the video from our stay in quarantine here:

The video is captured with a Samsung Galaxy S6 mobile phone.

The New Normal of Airline Travel - What’s Changed?

I have observed 5 ways that commercial air travel has changed, since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

1. Airlines are retiring 4 engine, less fuel efficient, airplanes such as the B747 and A380.

2. As a result of lower demand and removal of the B747 and the A380, there are less or almost no First Class seats available.

3. Airplanes are cleaner now than ever. There is strong emphasis on the hygiene of air travel at the moment. Does social distancing really work in the air?

4. We are seeing drastic changes in how the in-flight service is conducted. Some airlines are downgrading their in-flight meals significantly. Hot meals and trays are being replaced by sealed and pre-packaged cold snack boxes. I will discuss the different in-flight service standard of British Airways, Turkish Airlines, Singapore Airlines, ANA, Emirates, Qatar Airways and Etihad.

5. Flying will become a necessity only for those who need to, it won't be for fun any more and will not be as easy as before. A lot of cumbersome paperwork, travel approvals and Covid tests are needed for international travel at the moment.

This is a video of my recent Emirates flight in September 2020. What’s changed onboard Emirates Flight? I flew with Emirates from Zurich to Dubai. The flight was really empty. The crew showed me what’s changed in First, Business and Economy Class on Emirates.

Lot of service are modified to reduce touch points. Hygiene kit are introduced. Hot meal service have been retained across all classes. Lot of items are now sealed and wrapped. The crew explained what’s really changed in the airline.

I do feel quite sad as there were very few passengers traveling on long haul flights at the moment due to all the uncertainties, border closures and quarantine restrictions. I hope the government and all stakeholders can work to standardize travel rules and restrictions to enable more people to travel.

Inside the video, I have also given 5 tips and hints to help traveler fly during the pandemic. These tips are not encouraging you to fly, it may help you to prepare better if you must fly.

Tip 1 Time and plan your COVID Test in Advance
Tip 2 Prepare to Spend More Time at The Airport With Paperwork
Tip 3 Many Airlines Are Now Offering Automatic COVID-19 Insurance Coverage
Tip 4 Remember The Little Things (face covering in the plane)
Tip 5 Entry Rules And Restrictions Are Likely to Change

Flying to Japan in an empty Dreamliner | ANA Business Class | Taipei - Tokyo | Boeing 787-8 | REVIEW

Hi guys, this flight review video is about my recent flight from Taipei, Taiwan to Tokyo Narita, Japan on ANA, All Nippon Airways' Boeing 787-8 in business class , my first flight on a Japanese airline and my first time in Japan and I loved it!

ANA has two types of products on their 787's, the regional business class seat (which is the one on this flight) and the long haul seat which is a staggered lie-flat seat like the ones Emirates have on their A380.
The service on this flight was top notch, there were three flight attendants working on the business class cabin but I got full attention as I was only passenger in the business class cabin..

I pre-ordered the Japanese meal on ANA's website, I love Japanese food so it was an easy choice for me.
What I liked about this flight was the attention to detail, from the presentation of the food to the inflight entertainment system to the cute 'flight log card' that the flight attendants gave me before landing.

ANA has a solid regional product and I won't hesitate to fly with them again, the plane, the seat, the flight attendants and the food, I would rate it a solid 8.

Camera used: iPhone 11 256GB, all footage shot at 4K 60FPS.

Some details about the flight:

Airline: ANA, All Nippon Airways
Flight number: NH824
Flight origin: Taipei Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan
Flight destination: Tokyo Narita International Airport, Japan
Plane: Boeing 787-8
Registration: JA834A
Class: Business Class
Seat: 4K
Date: March 6 , 2020
