Korean Air B747-8 First Class - World's Longest 747 Flight

Get Surfshark VPN at and enter promo code SAM to get 83% off and 3 months for free!

I flew on a Korean Air Boeing 747-8 from Atlanta to Seoul Incheon in First Class. This is the current longest Boeing 747 flight in the world with over 7,100 miles and with 15-16 hours of flying time.

Check out the Korean Air First Class Suite (Kosmo Suite II) and its amenities. During the flight, I tried out the Korean Bibimbap, which is served across all classes on Korean Air. I also learned about Korean culture from the Korean cabin crew.

For many of us, the journey itself is the most exciting part of the trip. Korean Air B747-8 First Class is one fine example of luxury travel with a fully enclosed private suite, fine dining, amenities and attentive service. The only thing missing is the Wi-Fi connectivity to make the experience perfect.

TRIP REPORT | First Time on Korean Air | Singapore to Vienna (via Seoul) | KOREAN AIR Boeing 777

Korean Air Trip Report flying from Singapore to Vienna (via Seoul-Incheon Airport), onboard a Korean Air Boeing 777, on a beautiful day all across Asia and Europe.

My first time flying with Korean Air and it was such a huge trip: almost 23 hours since boarding in Singapore until disembarking in Vienna. In between, the amazing Terminal 4 of Singapore-Changi airport, a 6-hour flight from Singapore to Seoul, my first time at Seoul-Incheon airport, and a 13-hour flight from Seoul to Vienna.

Our journey started at midnight in Singapore. After a fascinating tour of Singapore-Changi Terminal 4, we boarded and departed on time for the first Boeing 777 of the journey. The first half of the flight was during the night, but from then we enjoyed a great sunrise over the MAR DE LA CHINA MERIDIONAL. The approach and landing in Seoul were really beautiful.

The layover at Seoul-Incheon airport lasted around 4 hours. We didn't get out of Terminal 2 so we had plenty of time to explore it from side to side. The planespotting, although mainly about Korean Air, was amazing, including B747, A380, B777, A330, B787... really worth the time of walking all the terminal.

We took off on time from Seoul and set course towards China. We flew over Tianjin, south of Beijing, and Taiyuan. From there we made a right turn and set course towards northwestern China. We entered Kazakhstan and crossed it completely from east to west, until reaching the Caspian Sea. Flew over Azerbaijan, Turkiye, the Black Sea, Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary, and, finally, we landed in Vienna on time,

About the onboard service: on the 1st flight they served a warm breakfast. There were 2 options: omelet or fish. What a surprise, the majority wanted omelet. When they arrived to me they didn't have more omelet. Since I hate fish, they offered me the most disgusting hot dog I've ever seen. Judge by yourselves.

On the 2nd flight, things were much better: just after takeoff the lunch was served with Asian and European options. I went for the beef and I must say it was really good. Also the dessert and the salad were pretty tasty. A great lunch, to be fair. Around 7 hours into the flight they offered a chicken with vegetabkes sandwich which was delicious. Probably the best sandwich on a plane so far for me.

Around 2 hours before landing the dinner was offered. In this case, the options were fish or a typical Korean-style beef with rice cake. None sounded good to me but I chose the second one. Well, it was just not for me. The worst food I ever had on a plane... but because of myself. The food was looking good... but I didn't like it. At all.

Now it's your turn!
Have you ever flown with Korean Air? Which route? How was the experience? Have you ever flown on the Boeing 777? What do you think about the Korean Air service? Have you ever been in Seoul? Maybe in Singapore?
Lots of things to talk about! See you all in the comments!

What could be more romantic than a flight on a Boeing 747?! Well, I recently flew Korean Air First Class in a Korean Air 747! The flight was from Seoul (ICN) to Atlanta (ATL) and is Korean Air’s longest flight.

This Korean Air First Class 747 experience was exceptional.

The Korean Air 747 will be one of the final Queens of the Sky to fly because Korean Air is one of only a few airlines to have ordered the 747-8. Take a look at what it's like in one of the final passenger 747's to roll off of the assembly line. This Korean Air 747 experience met their brand's promise of Excellence in Flight!

Watch this video to see what made the trip in the Korean Air 747 so special. And there was a lot! Not only was sitting in Korean Air First Class Seat 1A in front of the pilots amazing, but the Korean Air First Class cabin crew kept the food and champagne flowing! I’ve never eaten so much on a flight before! Along the way, this flight report will include information about the seats, the inflight entertainment, the food, and the cabin crew from this Korean Air Boeing 747-8 flight!

I’ll even rate Korean Air First Class using my “JebScore:”

By the way, nobody is more “bummed” I accidentally deleted the take-off and landing footage from this Korean Air First Class flight than I am! Guess I’ll just have to give it another try…

Korean Air 747-8 First Class Kosmo Suite Seoul to Hong Kong

Filmed on a Nikon D5500 with Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 lens.
Part 2 of a 4 part flight report on Korean Air's 747-8 and A380 first class suites.
Leaving from Seoul Incheon, the hub for Korean Air, I was expecting the first class lounge to be a lot better. There is a sign outside of the lounge that says it is only for first class Korean Air passengers. However the lounge barely passes for a business class lounge. Having experienced the beautiful and well equipped Cathay Pacific Pier business lounge and Singapore Airlines SilverKris business class, I can say that the first class lounge at Korean Air cannot even compete. The hot food is limited to three options, besides cup noodles. The cold food is just salmon and salad. There was one flavor of plain yogurt and vanilla ice cream. It also seems like the options don't change from day to day as I would visit again a week later and the options were exactly the same. The lounge experience is something I would not bother getting to the airport early for.
Onboard, the new 747-8 Kosmo suites are beautiful and well designed with a huge personal closet. I actually think the Korean Air colors look fine with the wood decor. It is a very private seat that becomes a fully enclosed suite, but feels very spacious since you get 4 windows for yourself.
The crew on this flight were fantastic. They were very proactive and offered refills of champagne and wine constantly. I saw them roam the cabin throughout the flight to check up on each passenger. As soon as I finished a dish they would come by and bring me my next dish. Everything was done with a smile and outstretched open hand. The Korean Air first class experience onboard continues to be precise and consistent, and really makes a passenger feel very well cared for.
Since this was a Southeast Asia flight, the champagne onboard is a Rose, and it is the only option available. I only bothered to film the wines that were available on this flight since the menu is the same as my previous flight.
Catering on this flight was significantly better than my JFK flight. Everything continues to be beautifully presented. I especially liked the roasted chicken breast with black olive butter crust.
The Korean Air experience continues to be excellent, let down by a disappointing lounge.

About China Eastern (from Wikipedia):
China Eastern Airlines Corporation Limited (simplified Chinese: 中国东方航空公司; traditional Chinese: 中國東方航空公司), also known as China Eastern, is an airline headquartered in the China Eastern Airlines Building, on the grounds of Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport in Changning District, Shanghai. It is one of the Big Three airlines (alongside Air China and China Southern Airlines) of the People's Republic of China, operating international, domestic, and regional routes. Hongqiao airport, along with the larger Shanghai Pudong International Airport, are China Eastern's main hubs, with secondary hubs in Beijing Daxing, Kunming, and Xi'an.

It is the second largest airline in China, in terms of passenger traffic, after China Southern Airlines. In 2021, its operation revenue is 67,127 million RMB. Its total asset is 286,548 million RMB. China Eastern and its subsidiary Shanghai Airlines became the 14th member of SkyTeam on 21 June 2011. The parent company of China Eastern Airlines Corporation Limited is China Eastern Air Holding Company.

About Airbus A330 (from Wikipedia):
The A330-200 is a shortened, longer-range variant, which entered service in 1998 with Korean Air. Typical range with 253 passengers in a three-class configuration is 13,400 km (7,240 nmi; 8,330 mi). The A330-200 is ten fuselage frames shorter than the original −300, with a length of 58.82 m (193 ft 0 in). To compensate for the smaller moment arm of the shorter fuselage, the vertical stabiliser height of the -200 was increased by 104 cm (40.9 in). The −200's wing was also modified; structural strengthening of the wing allowed the maximum takeoff weight of the −200 to be increased to 229.8 tonnes (507,000 lb). The −200 is offered with three engine types similar to those found on the −300, namely the General Electric CF6-80E, Pratt & Whitney PW4000, or Rolls-Royce Trent 700. Airbus also boosted fuel capacity to 139,100 L (36,700 US gal) by adding the centre section fuel tank, standard in the A340.

Today i'm flying the world's best First Class flights for 24 hours from Singapore to London. This will be over three first class flights, starting in the brand new Starlux A350. After we'll move onto the brand new Emirates A380 first class, which features similar finishing to the famous Gamechanger (yes of course there's a shower onboard!). Lastly we'll finish on Etihad's three room apartment in the sky, known as The Residence. This not only has a living room, but a private ensuite bathroom and bedroom!

As usual I paid for this trip myself, and due to the complexities of the routing, I was unable to use miles to redeem. Therefore three cash tickets ended up costing over $13,000! Full costings shown in the video

Korean Air 747-8 First Class Kosmo Suite Hong Kong to Seoul

Filmed on a Nikon D5500 with a Sigma 17-50mm lens.
Part 3 of 4 of a trip across the globe in Korean Air's first class cabin.
Leaving from Hong Kong I had the option of going to the new Skyteam Business class lounge. However, there were some issues causing me to arrive late and miss the opportunity to check out the newly renovated lounge. It seems Skyteam is going the route of building massive lounges that cater to all of its member airlines' premium passengers. Online it looks like the lounge is pretty nice with good food available.
This time I was able to get a few shots of the beautiful 747-8 taking me back to Incheon. Boarding was called on time and I met another lovely crew who welcomed me onboard. The purser came by as usual to introduce herself and welcome me to Korean Air. Champagne was soon flowing. As we were waiting for push back however, it seems like there was a minor medical issues that required the airport medical team to come into the cabin. It was unclear if the passenger had to removed but from the sound of the crew member voices it didn't seem to be a major problem. As we waited the cabin crew continued to check up on each first class passenger and kept the refills coming.
On this flight, I decided to try the Asian meal having tried the Western menu twice. It was quite good and beautifully presented. I did notice that the menu was exactly the same as my Seoul to Hong Kong flight more than a week ago. I don't know how often Korean Air changes their menu but even Chinese airlines alter their menu each day.
Similar to my previous flights, the FAs continued to handle cutlery precisely and delicately, with the bread knife at an angle as always. I have to say Korean Air really is consistent with their training. The FAs were also very friendly and professional, and I think Korean Air FAs are on the level of Singapore and Cathay in first class.
The only minor issue during the flight was that my entertainment system froze twice and so I ended changing seats as I wanted the tail camera view for the descent. The Korean Air IFE has a pretty small selection and it is better to bring your own entertainment.
Anyways, another wonderful experience with Korean Air.

26th April is a milestone for the new Taiwanese airline Starlux as it launched its first long-haul flight to Los Angeles, CA. The chairperson of Starlux, Chang Kuo-Wei 張國煒 personally flies the A350 flight as the captain.

I was invited to fly in Starlux First Class. There are just 4 First Class fully enclosed private suites in the front and 26 Business Class suites on the Starlux A350-900. Check out all the cabin, seats, amenities, food and beverage offerings during the launch flight. I gave my verdict about the entire product at the end of the video.

Find out all the details about Starlux Airlines and behind the scenes with Chairman Chang Kuo-Wei 張國煒 flying the plane. He talked about his upbringing in the aviation industry.

Starlux Airlines started operation at the beginning of 2020; the worst time in aviation history. The airline persisted and now flies 20 brand new Airbus including 13 A321neo, 4 A330neo and 3 A350-900.
