24 Hours in Bratislava Slovakia (my first time in Slovakia!)

24 Hours in Bratislava Slovakia certainly isn't enough to see everything there is to do in the city, but its enough time to eat delicious food, taste delicious beer, and explore some of the main Bratislava attractions.

Is BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA worth visiting?

Olivia and Nathan here!
We took the 2.5 hour train ride from Budapest to Bratislava. To be honest, we almost skipped Slovakia completely, but we decided to check out for 24 hours. A lot of fellow travelers staying in Vienna or Budapest asked us, is it worth visiting?

Traveling to where Eastern Europe meets West. (Bratislava, Slovakia)

This is Bratislava, Slovakia, the arguably most underrated in city Europe. We travelled here from Turkey to explore Slovakia, a former communist country (as part of Czechoslovakia) with influences from both east and west and a rich history from a beautiful corner of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, to former frontline in Cold War. Located only 80 kilometres from Vienna, Austria, Bratislava feels both central and eastern European at the same time and its hard to believe this city was separated completely from its bigger neighbour for over 50 years. Traveling here in 2023, with Slovakia part of the EU and Schengen borderless travel zone feels a world away from that period of time. Welcome to Bratislava, Slovakia

5 Challenges of Living in Slovakia | A Foreigner's Perspective

Today I wanted to talk about a few challenges I've experienced while living in Slovakia. It's a great country, though every country will have things that a non-native person will have to adjust to. Slovakia has its... growing pains for me, though it has still been an interesting and worthwhile stay.

DAY TRIPPIN' BETWEEN THE WORLD'S 2 CLOSEST CAPITALS (Vienna to Bratislava)

In this video, we take a day trip between 2 of the world's closest capitals: Vienna, Austria and Bratislava, Slovakia! We were very excited for this trip because all the good things we've heard about Bratislava!

We start off traveling by train between the two cities. The total trip only takes about an hour so it's the perfect day trip from Vienna! After we got off the train we were able to enjoy the beautiful walk into the downtown area and see St. Michael's gate, which stands out with its unique architecture and teal color. Unfortunately, it started to rain on us but we still enjoyed our time as much as possible by going to Primate's Palace. We also had the palace all to ourselves and were able to walk around and take many videos and pictures.

After Primate's, we headed over to the BLUE CHURCH which is a unique and colorful building that slightly resembled a marshmallow candy! Next, we went to St. Martin's Cathedral and toured the Crypts underneath the church.

One amazing thing about Bratislava was that a lot of the tourist attractions were affordable (1-3 euros) and informative. It was such a cool experience to be able to hop on a train and within a short hour we entered a completely new country with a different country with its very own language, architecture, culture, and food.

We had an amazing time and would love to explore more of the country (and maybe we will soon hehehe)

Howdy! We're Jenna & Andrew and we create travel vlogs. With this channel we hope to do more than just the typical bucket list. We set out to better understand the culture, language, and most importantly the people of the places we travel to. Our channel is designed to give a unique perspective and knowledge of each country, and our honest and true experience.

48 hours in Slovakia | First Impressions of Bratislava

➺ I N T H I S E P I S O D E
48 hours to accomplish a massive to-do list.. is this possible? To get motivated we started by ticking wake up and eat breakfast off the list.
After enjoying the view over Lake Balaton we made our way to Slovakia. We spent 3 hours in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Why only 3 hours? Because parking during this period of time was for free.
On the next day we had Ikea on the menu. Originally, we stopped there to geht some new plates (Laurenz broke one), but we bought a carpet instead.. and some food.
To top it all off we crossed a second border.

Delicious Bratislava - Food Tour

We are looking forward to getting to know you! You, however, can do so already now:

Michelle`s travelling by passion, but foremost thanks to her occupation, brought her to some 80 countries around the world. Wherever manageable she tried to experience local folklore and, naturally, taste as wide variety of local food as possible. Having collected tremendous memories and won wonderful friendships from diverse backgrounds, cultures and religions. According to her she is „a proud Slovak with big international spirit“.

Sofia with her friendly and sociable nature is a great example of a Bratislava girl – she is absolutely loving and living the city! She keeps saying she wouldn`t want to live anywhere else. Still in the middle of her political and European studies, but don`t worry, during our tours – no politics!

So, our dear friends, see you soon in Bratislava!

WHAT BRATISLAVA IS LIKE | NON TOURISTY EUROPEAN CITY | CENTRAL EUROPE TRIP

We made it to our next central European country and capital of Bratislava, in Slovakia! In this vlog we show you what Bratislava is like! It's really a beautiful non touristy European city. We stayed for a quick one night here before moving on to the next city on our trip but we are happy we stopped in Bratislava to get a taste of Slovakia. We ate Traditional Slovakian food (Bryndzove Halusky, Pirohy, and Strapacky), walked up the Bratislava castle hill for amazing views of the city, explored the nearly empty streets of the Old Town in Bratislava, and learned a lot about the history of Bratislava as well. Worth visiting if you ask us!

Stay tuned for more upcoming videos, we post twice a week, every Sunday and Wednesday.
