Her FIRST long distance motorcycle trip! Babes Ride Out!

Her FIRST long distance motorcycle trip! Captain Ana and I rode 500 miles to be able to attend Babes Ride Out East Coast! This was Ana's VERY FIRST long distance trip on a motorcycle! We are incredibly grateful to Harley-Davidson for loaning us a beautiful 2021 Sport Glide for Ana to ride on our journey! For the first 6 hours of our 9 hour trip, it was cold, rainy and borderline miserable. But we stayed in good spirits and powered through the gorgeous curvy Pennsylvania roads! After a good shower beer and some chicken fingers, it was time to rest up and hit the road again in the morning! Stay tuned for more content from Babes Ride Out!

My Epic 5000 Mile Motorcycle Road Trip on a Honda CB500X!

I bought my first motorcycle, a 2018 Honda CB500X and went on a road trip around Western Canada. My route took me from Victoria to Vancouver, up the Sea to Sky Highway to Whistler, east to the Rocky Mountains along the Icefields Parkway into Canmore and Jasper then back through Prince George, Prince Rupert and finally back to Victoria.

Read the full road trip report on my website:

In a future video I will cover my review and full mod list that I've done to the bike such as exhaust, rally raid, top speed, off road capabilities, etc. Overall I'm happy with the CB500X as a beginner bike but I definitely feel that there are some limitations to this bike.

I made another video covering the specifics of the route I took. In case anyone is also planning a road trip through BC, this video might be helpful.

1. Choose your ultimate destination. Have an ultimate set destination in mind, as well as set destinations for each night you’ll have for your trip. Some of our favorite destinations are motorcycle rides to national parks. These offer some of the best motorcycle riding America has to offer.
2. Decide how many days it will take to get there, and how many miles and hours you want to ride per day. This depends on your motorcycle and your stamina.
3. Figure your motorcycle's MPG and range on a full tank. Plan fuel stops well before your bike gets to empty. Reset the trip odometer every time you fuel up.
4. Pack your motorcycle bags selectively. Make sure you pack food, water, maps, flashlight and tire repair kit, as well as a physical map of the state you're riding in.
5. Tune your bike beforehand, and check tire pressure each morning.
6. Only ride during daylight hours. You’ll want to see the road clearly. Potholes, rocks or other debris will be much harder to see in the dark. Wildlife will also be much more prevalent at night.
7. Plan accommodations for 3-6 hours riding distance per day on Google Maps when figuring your motorcycle road trip each day.
8. Consider taking a friend. Solo rides are therapeutic, but you don't want to get stranded all alone. At the very least, tell someone about your motorcycle route itinerary.
9. Keep your phone off or on airplane mode while riding. Preserve your battery.
10. Be adaptable. There may be excessive traffic, road closures or extreme weather that could change your plans. Choose motels or Airbnb's that offer free cancellation.

European Road Trip: Rode Across 15 Countries Solo on a 125cc Honda Motorbike

The journey of riding a motorbike to Lisbon started in Bali, Indonesia, where I had just learned to ride a scooter. 2 months before the trip I asked my heart, Where to next? That morning I literally woke up from a dream, having seen myself riding a motorbike across Europe: Destination Lisbon, Portugal (a place I knew no one & had never been).
2 months after the dream I arrived to France, bought a used Honda Innova (aka Honda Wave 125cc), learned how to ride it and set out for Portugal...following google maps & the courage of my heart along winding country roads, 6-lane highways and busy city streets.
I named my motorbike “Joy” despite the fact that she broke down in Spain, 9km from Portugal in the middle of nowhere, forcing me to push her 12km...until a woman from little Spanish town precariously agreed to tow me to mechanic via a bungee-cord and chain; where I was able to get professionally towed to Motodiana Honda in Evora, Portugal...a historic UNESCO World Heritage village where beauty resplendently resides in the places and people...after “Joy” was miraculously brought back to life, I set out for Lisbon, “Joy” actually breaking down 40km outside Evora as if I wasn't suppose to leave (Motodiana came and adjusted fuel valve roadside), and so onward I rode.
Lisbon felt like the quote, It is the journey, not the destination.” Traversing back through Portugal, Spain, France, I made my way north east to Switzerland, destination Zurich (to meet-up with my amazing friend who I met in Bali), then north east up Germany, Bavaria, across to Vienna, Austria, south to Hungary, Slovenia, touching into Triste, Italy before going down through Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, crossing Albania, Greece, and then back up to Italy; battling virulent winds, torrential rain, light snow, burning hot to freezing cold temperatures, countryside dirt roads to old cobblestone castle pathways...making my way back to Monaco, where life as I knew it would never be the same...for I had learned that in being connected to my heart, I became connected to everyone, each country and culture, person and place apart of me though an infinite succession of shared heartbeats and moments made magic by the willingness and openness to live in love and find joy no matter the matter.

Tajikistan was the sixth country I rode through. The legendary Pamir Highway and Wakhan Valley are dream destinations for any ADV rider and the scenery of this country is absolutely breathtaking and indescribable. The whole time I rode with my mouth wide open and almost forgot about my broken suspension!

In April 2017 I left Australia for my trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet”, because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.

Throughout my journey I'm raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. All the money raised will go directly to helping Franek and his family lead as normal a life as possible so please donate generously:

My First Days in Sudan During the Revolution. Solo Motorcycle Ride. EP 50

This my first episode is from Sudan. The moment I crossed into Sudan I found myself in the middle of a revolution. The Sudanese people had been protesting against the government for months and as I arrived in the country the army removed the president. The situation became very unstable, people were confused and no one knew what this would lead to. I was aware of the risks, but I decided not to change my plans, I stayed in Sudan for a month so I could experience this beautiful country and witness these amazing times. This episode is from my first few days in Sudan where I experienced my first taste of this incredible culture.

Got2Go - 90.000 Kilometers AROUND THE WORLD on a motorcycle SOLO

18 months, 50 countries, 90.000 kilometers - how I rode around the world on a motorcycle solo as a female traveler and what I learned along the way.
This video is for everyone who wants to see some parts of my journey around the world - but the highlights and the most memorable and intimate encounters – the lows and highs of my trip – you will only find in my book.

// It would mean the world to me if you support my journey by buying my book - and please leave a good review on Amazon, so it will be suggested to other people as well!

// Order the paperback book on Amazon:

// Order the ebook for kindle:

// Or access the book over the Amazon page of your country by searching for Got2Go Lea Rieck

// Your family. Your friends. Your job. Your language. Your life, as you know it. Imagine you leave all of this behind, and just go on a ride around the world. 18 months, 50 countries, 90.000 kilometers of adventure.

In my travelogue I tell a story of falling and getting up again, of courage and serenity, faith in oneself and other people, empathy, hope and determination. About setting out - but not to learn to fear the world, but to find adventure, friendship and love.
The moment that changes everything can come at any time. For me it's a normal Monday morning in the office when I saw a colleague watering a plant with Evian mineral water. I quit my job, left my comfort zone and set off on a trip around the world.
Just my motorcycle Cleo and me, all alone.
But what do you do when there's a military coup right in front of your window? If your lover turns out to be a Russian sniper? Or if you burn your eyes in the highest altitude desert of the world? You learn your lesson and move on.
The journey takes me past 8,000-meter-high mountains in Pakistan, through temples in India, to the safe shores of Australia, into the driest desert in the world in Chile and Bolivia - and in the end back to Germany. Breathlessly, I let my intuition and instincts guide me, experienced the highs and lows of traveling alone. I begans to see the world from a different angle, and discovered life in all its different facets and forms.

'Dwell in the land and you shall be fed.' - that is out of the question for Lea Rieck. The more adventurous, the better. The worst journeys, she says, are the best. Hans Magnus Enzensberger

„Absolutely worth reading - Podcast Cosmopolitan

Lea Rieck [...] convinces with polished language and clever analyses [...] a brilliant read with challenges and surprises even for non-motorcyclists. One wants to go on riding with Lea forever. - Motorrad Magazin

Wittily written, but still very close to heart [...] a real page-turner!“ - Motorrad Abenteuer

// Time of journey: May 2016 - November 2017

// NEW EPISODE OUT EVERY THURSDAY 19:30 CET

// Welcome to the journey! I am Lea Rieck, a journalist and author and I want to take you with me on a motorcycle overlanding adventure to all the wild and beautiful places in the world!

// I circumnavigated the world solo from 2016-2017 and now I am going to all other places I have not seen yet. Now on the channel: the first stage of the journey through westafrica, my motorcycle ride from Germany to North Cape Expedition North and the best places to do a roadtrip to in Europe.
