Episode one. Here we go!
Our first day in Moscow, Russia before we embark on the Trans Siberian Railway.
This is a journey of 10,000 km across Russia, the biggest country in the world. 25 days to visit Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Ulan-Ude, and Vladivostok.
In this Russia travel vlog, we arrive in Moscow from Saint Petersburg, to meet some friends of our Russian guide Yaroslav. Here we jump on some bicycles and see a bit of this incredible city. The food was the main event this day, as we found a great local restaurant and had a great Russian Food FEAST of borsch, okroshka, home made dumplings, and so much more.

First Thoughts on Russia | We Spent 48 Hours in St Petersburg, Russia
After our insane Russian visa nightmare we are so glad to arrive here in St Petersburg...these are our first thoughts on the country.
Tour we are on in Russia with On the Go Tours:
We have 48 hours in St Petersburg so we are going to show you as much as possible to do in this incredible city which started off by working out the Metro systems...going to the deepest one in Russia - Admiralteyskaya station. It's so cost effective to use the Metro system, less than a $1 and there's no zones - jump on and just jump off when you are done.
Our first stop was obviously coffee, so we went to Pyshechnaya which is a cafe set up like an old soviet style restaurant where all they sell is cheap coffee and one style of donut.
Next up we headed to the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood which is a breathtaking church best described as a gingerbread house - and if you think outside looks stunning - wait till you go inside and see the 1000's of mosaics lining the walls.
To find the best views in St Petersburg we recommend you head to St Isaac's Cathedral.
If you are looking for some of the best museums in the world - head to the Hermitage Museum (the Winter Palace) and also head to Catherines Summer Palace - both very grand and opulent.
If you want to try some Russian food - we recommend Советское кафе Квартирка - which is an old soviet style restaurant set up like an old soviet home. Amazing food - we recommend you try

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.
We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

First time visiting Saint Petersburg DURING WINTER - Russia
This was my first time visiting Saint Petersburg Russia.
It was a great day in Russia apart from the cold weather but it was not as cold as last week in Boston which was minus 10. Saint Petersburg is a city with lots of history and many things to do in Saint Petersburg.
Saint Petersburg is Russia's second-largest city after Moscow, with 5 million inhabitants in 2012, part of the Saint Petersburg agglomeration with a population of 6.2 million (2015). An important Russian port on the Baltic Sea, it has a status of a federal subject (a federal city).
There are many things to do in Saint Petersburg Russia and if you are wondering on what to do in Saint Petersburg these are a few places to visit.

First Impressions of St. Petersburg, Russia
With 72 visa free hours in Russia, we hit the ground running in St. Petersburg! Waking up in our cabin on the ship, opening the curtains, and seeing our first view of Russia is something we'll never forget. We disembark, clear Russian customs, and join a guided tour around the city. This is a great way to get an overview and see the main sights right away, like St. Isaac's Cathedral and the Church of the Saviour on the Spilled Blood. You can quickly get an impression and decide if you'd like to return somewhere to spend more time. We cannot believe the enormous scale of St. Petersburg. This city of about 5.5 million people is truly vast with buildings that stretch for blocks. We feel overwhelmed at its size and by how much there is to see and do. Not wanting to waste a single minute of our 72 visa free hours, we head straight to the famous Hermitage Museum. It's the biggest museum in Russia and one of the biggest in the entire world. We visit the main building, which is located inside the Winter Palace. Each room feels more opulent than the last and we're left breathless and overwhelmed. At the end of our first day of sightseeing, we grab a Yandex taxi home (think Russian Uber) and head to our hotel. Check out the rest of our videos to see how you can visit Russia without a visa.

How did that happen?
The trip to Russia is incomplete without visiting Saint Petersburg. I took a Sapsan bullet train to the city from Leningradsky railway station, Moscow at 6:50 am. The journey lasted for 3:30 hours and arrived in Saint Petersburg in the morning at 9:30 am
The day I arrived & the first impression
As I stepped out of Moskovsky railway station, Saint Petersburg, I found a city with immense action, but yet it was peaceful. No loud noises and honks, people rushing to offices, tourists converging to start their day trip, localities walking without fear in a calm and composed manner with utmost style and confidence. I was glad to be there, enjoying my first few hours in the city on the day of arrival.
A guy on the streets of Saint Peterburg was playing the sitar and soon after his performance I asked him about Pandit Ravi Shankar Prasad and he instantly replied: Oh yes, I have been following him since my childhood and it was a mix of western and Indian scales I was playing with. I felt connected there and stretch our conversation for almost an hour, discussing the technicalities and complexities of music.
